My favorite kinda mission! Knew I was in for it when I heard in the briefing "All air is free to just go for whatever the fuck is to the north of us there in that yellow box." I got all excited to see some good footage either from the ground or in the air, then I heard the best part "Hawg, Angels, you are guns free on anything that is in that area, that is all going to be enemy" Oh! A-10s!
S'when I knew this was gun be a good one. I can never get enough of Jets/Choppers/Armor in Shacktac, y'all put on an amazing show.

I just love listening to these. The combined arms operations just seem to have an extra level of fun from a spectators standpoint.
From the moment Crane got the drop on you in 'Perfectly Criminal' these videos have really hit a new high point for me. It's been like a great buddy-cop movie... In fact, speaking purely as a viewer I don't think I've had quite this much fun with ShackTac videos since the glory days of the Kilroy/Beagle bromance.

These videos with Crane as of late have been my favorite.
TedHo made one hell of a mission! I like seeing the briefings etc., adds some context to the mission. And these large scale Cold War combined arms co-ops are some of my favorites from you guys. 9001/10 will watch again.

edit: Got a question, how often do you change up the heli's you fly? I'd love to see some Cobra action if possible (My dad used to fly them)
The Littlebirds have the most interesting gameplay dynamics for typical missions. Sometimes we have Apaches/Cobras, but not nearly as often.
Arcamean A Blackhawk gunship would be cool to see. I think there's a mod that adds some different types of Blackhawks, but I'm not sure what it's called.
Oh I'm not trying to say "OMG why u never play..." just a request is all, growing up around them (even got to sit in the sim and go up with my dad once as a kid) you develop a fondness for em. I enjoy the content whether it's as a footslogger or an air jockey. :)
Oh wow, this reminds me of the most epic moment I've seen captured in your vids, Dslyecxi. Is this the same mission from a couple years back where you got shot down in the middle of tank hell and fixed your chopper while Uglies and Hog put on a light show for you? That was fucking amazing. Gonna get comfy and watch...
It's not the same mission, but it is the same terrain. The concept here is more armored + air, no real infantry component, whereas the one you're thinking of was infantry trying to escape while air covered them.
Gotcha... I realized it was a different setup when there weren't any Uglies in play. Still a cool show from the air. Can you imagine how that particular moment from before would have looked in Arma 3? :D

Wow, I had no idea the actual firing ranges of the Bergen-Hohne range are modelled in this map! Not an arma player, but have seen range 7A more than once!

Are any of these recent videos you post ever PVP? I very much enjoyed the guerrilla sniping video you did in arma 2 where you fought out numbered. It seems as though you guys aren't struggling nearly enough in these engagements and would do well to have a couple people be implanted in the opposition forces :)
Having players mixed in with AI makes for some of the worst gameplay you can get in Arma. We did it in the past at times and I would never go back to that - it's awful. We play some PvP these days but not as much as in the past, and I personally much prefer coop these days.

We don't use any effects mods, so it's part of RHS, CUP, or vanilla Arma.

I don't get it - Why did the American armor column retreat up that road at the end of the video? Their opposition at that point was only BMPs and BTRs. Were they outta ammo or sumpin'?

Why don't you fly at top speed instead of 200+km/h?
How do you mean?
You usually fly in the 130-150km/h range instead of the top speed of the aircraft.
You don't need to fly full speed all the time. Slower gives more maneuverability, more time to observe, etc, without making you an easy target.
