    heya im using arnold 5.1.0 the bump map is not the same as this, have you any ideas? Thanks for these

      ah bump goes into a bump2d node > Standard shader - Geometry - Normal :) FYI

    i can't find shader in the bump2d node.... only normal and bump height. how come?

    you could show the workflow with more detail. I followed your tutorial on arnold but in the very close planes the texture deforms. I can not get the result of the sample images of the web. Another question I have is what is the correct level of displacement.

      For closeups you simply need more tesselation, I guess...
      Personally I'm working with octane, where you get the advantage of voxeldisplacement...

      We deliver real 8k depthmap with some slight ramps to avoid from artefacts, but it's extreme sharp ;)

      we got lots of free materials online, so test it out and decide for yourselfe 😎
      Personally the textures saved me hours of work and increased the quality of my renders...
      Give it a try.

    Any idea how to connect the Standard Surface to the Bump2d if it doesn't have a Shader option?

      I don't have shader option either ,,arghh.. no idea what to :-(

      Stephen Mylonas I think there's a different option now in the newer version where you connect it to Geometry > Normal instead

      Ok cool, I'm in R17, and I'm not that great at Arnold so much yet but I tried to find geometry and can't find it. Would you mind showing me a picture of how you did it? If you can't it's ok :-)

    The newest version of C4DtoA doesn't have the shader button you used, but has this instead. imgur.com/LN0RwVY
    What do we do instead?

      Hey, I have the same question about the bump2d node not having a Shader option and the Standard Surface won't connect to it. Did you find a solution?
