    Nice, fair review. Very timely video for me. You have sold it to me! Especially comment about accessible for elderly people with mobility problems. Thanks.

    Great motor and a great review 👍 am seriously impressed and am considering buying a Lexus rx. Was looking at the rx300 but see the mpg is terrible ! lol , but the rx400h seems to be quiet a lot better, I actually prefer this shape rx to the newer models!! I had a Lexus is200 sport many years ago and was a pleasure to drive, so fancy another Lexus and this could fit the bill 💵

      Thanks for your kind comments. Yes the RX400H is a great budget 4*4. It's in fact my No1 cheap school run car.... Here's the link to that :

    Only wish it had DAB radio. The RX450h got the DAB but had the awful mouse for the infotainment and much more expensive used so I'd rather this.

    Nice review, you didn’t mention the hybrid features? How long does the battery last, how long to charge , etc.

    • @sutsi
      @sutsi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's self charging.. basically exactly the way a Prius hybrid works. Electric only range is literally like 6 odd miles and speed has to be below 20mph

      My Ct-200h can cruise in hybrid at 40mph.

      My 2017 450h does about 2/3 miles up to 30mph. It’s more of a driving aid and around town use/slow moving traffic. But the few miles they do might be the difference between getting to fuel station or not!

    Looking to get one of these but have read a few horror stories about water leaking into the interior due to poor sunroof drainage design. Also water leaking into the boot and into the hybrid batteries. How bad is this problem as it could be a deal breaker which would be a huge shame as it is the perfect car?

    • @sutsi
      @sutsi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What I would say is, if you look hard enough, there's going to be some people with some issues on any car. There's not a car on earth where someone hasn't said something about a problem occurring. You need to look at frequency. I've had a number of Rx400H hybrids and to be honest not had any of the issues you've listed. You could perhaps buy one without sunroof. With regards boot, that's rare and where it occurs, is usually due to weather strips, which are maintenance items that need changing over time. So on balance I wouldn't be put off. End of the day you need to see what Cars are your alternatives to the RX (i.e. X5) and how do they compare for problems. My advice, look for one with full maintenance history (especially if full lexus) and you should be fine

    • @sanjsharma8184
      @sanjsharma8184 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sutsi thanks for your reassuring reply and very true with what you're saying. I understand these cars are no longer new and maintenance is key with any car after a certain age. I've looked at the competition and nothing else in my eyes compares from the same era. I'm now torn between an RX400h or an LS430 and willing to spend up to £9-10k for a mint example of either, as I want to keep whichever one I choose for as long as it lasts. To give you an idea, I've had my current E36 328i for coming on 18 years (and yes, I've spent a ton of cash on it over the years!). I now need a Lexus in my life.

    • @sutsi
      @sutsi  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sanjsharma8184 the LS430 is a lovely car..that one definitely needs to hav full history and long term their value will hold more. But as you've probably gathered I'm a big fan of the RX. With your budget you should be able to find a mint example of either. Wishing you all the best with it. Let us know how you get on. Oooh the E36 328I...Now that is a lovely car..

    • @sanjsharma8184
      @sanjsharma8184 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the E36 is a great car and now gets plenty of attention wherever I go. It'll stay with me for sentimental reasons but as it's a manual (and awesome for it) I need a relaxed cruiser for long motorway journeys and both the RX and LS are at the top of my list. I've even looked at the Infiniti FX/QX70 but don't fancy a diesel and the 5.0 V8 is a beast but is so thirsty and makes the LS look economical. I love everything about the RX with its hybrid system, high driving position and all the comforts but then I see an LS and am confused again lol! I'll let you know how this conundrum gets solved. Thanks again.

      In the video have stated it's a review of the 2003-2009 RX 400H MODEL. I haven't directly mentioned the one in the video as it's supposed to be a representation of a typical example, albeit seeing it as a 55 plate UK audiences will know this one is a 2005 car.

    Is it possible for someone who is 6ft2inch to sleep in the trunk? How long is the area in the back if you fold down the seats?

    • @sutsi
      @sutsi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Now that isn't a question asked everyday....but if you fold down all the seats and move the passenger/driver seat forward there's space for a 6ft2 person to sleep

    Wait until you see how difficult and expensive it is to change the water pump on these. Indy £1,000, stealership £1,800. 😱

    • @sutsi
      @sutsi  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Its all relative and depends on context really...Cambelt and water pump need changing every 90-100k miles...so you just need to be ready for that as its a maintenance item that's written in owners book. Big thing with the Rx is that it doesn't generally let you down in terms of breakdowns vs other equivalent..yes parts can be expensive but compared to a German exec car it's far cheaper to maintain over its lifetime. Also if you're getting an executive 4x4 need to be realistic that parts/labour will also be far higher than say a ford focus...

    • @Andek74
      @Andek74 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Difficult and expensive compared to what? It is a luxury SUV, famous for its built quality and reliability. You change the water pump every 150.000 kms together with the timing belt and it usually costs less than 1000 euros. Basically, you do it once in your used car's life.
