I had an Avincularia Versicolor that I raised from a sling. He turned out to be a male so he didn't live nearly as long as a female would have. He was very calm and the most beautiful spider I've ever seen.

I've never seriously considered this species because of past knowledge dictating they needed extreme high humidity and temperatures. Nowadays, we know better. Dry sub, big water dish and lots of cross ventilation is key to keeping these alive and well. I'm still not in a position to get more animals, but I do believe they'll be amongst the first few new ventures into this amazing hobby. Thank you for capturing their beauty. Sure, they're not as vibrant as C. versicolor. They don't need to be. Stay safe and thanks for sharing :)

Yay! This is timely, Mr. Dave! I picked up my first Avic avic yesterday. She's a lovely little thing and was so mellow. I decided to feed her right after I got her home to her new digs, and she took both crickets in a half hour and has been hanging out on the front of her hide ever since. I'm excited to learn more about their keeping.

I remember watching an animal doco on tarantulas in the 90’s. It when I found out how big spiders can get. They showed a few tarantulas, but it was the pink toe tarantula that stuck in my mind. It was only recently when I discovered TH-cam channels like yours that I’ve seen the variations tarantulas come it. They are all beautiful in their own way, but my favourite has to be the Brazilian White Knee.

Just relocated one I found in my kitchen. Trapped it with a shoe box and let it out in the bush across the road. I'm on TH-cam trying to figure out if another one in a nest just outside my door is a male or female. I don't want to have to contend with a baby spider invasion.

Like a lot of people, I've seen this species many times but it never caught my eye. That's because the images do not represent the various colors this spider has. The female is gorgeous. Another good point is the description that comes with this spider lacks the excitement you have presented in this video. I have new respect for this species. I didn't know anything about them until today. This species will go on my must have list now. Great shots of the male's pedipalps and tell Camera Lady she did an awesome job. 👍🏻

My first breeding attempt was with my beautiful M6 female “Suga” she gave us 131 babies. She is also one of my favorites!! Awesome video as always!!
