    Yep, you need the spacer. You also need to clean the gasket surface on the case and the cover and install new gaskets when you install the spacer.

    I put the 13 oz on my 2002 YZ 250 and would recommend against the 13 oz. I like the way it rides, but you have to bend the clutch actuator to clear the FWW and it prematurely wears out the cable. In addition to that you have to create a spacer out of multiple gaskets to keep the FWW from rubbing on the ignition cover. The 11 oz is the way to go!

    The bottom end isn't too bad to do on this bike I just did mine and it went pretty quick compared to tearing down my 450. Old trick, once you have the cases split, clean them up really good and set them up in the oven at 275F so the bearings will fall out. same with putting the new ones in, just open the door on the oven every 5 minutes or so and tap on them. I did have to go up to like 350F to get the new bearings to fall in. Also the wrench rabbit kit does not come with the governor bearing for the power valve.

    I've put silicon in the slot on the bottom of the cover and put heaps around the rubber boot for ignition wires.

    I'm not sure if the 9 or 11 oz is right for motocross.I live in an area where the tracks are often very hard packed and dry.Need more controlable power.thanks for the help

      7 or 9..... I'd say. 11 to much for most motocross imo.

    Hi friend, could you help, I want to manufacture a flywheel but I'm not sure if it's fixed only from the inside or if the plate touches the magnet thanks

    I thought I had a 2001 till I bought a 2001 fly wheel and won’t fit seen yours and you fly wheel looks different then mine? I think I need your exact one. So looks like mine might be a 2003, my vin showed 2002 would that fit a 2003 weighted flywheel??

      @@mcarter115 yeah 12 is probably best for it but 11oz works too. I had a 10 that wasn't enough and threw in a 12 and its perfect.

    What exactly does that flywheel do

  • @endurotruckererniedesjardins

    Fly wheel weight is 100% the next upgrade for my yz. Ill be sure to use a brandnew gasket n a thin line of rtv to keep the water out. Wonder if its the gasket or is it the o ring on the clutch cable letting the water in. Or pressure washer will do it too. Pressure washers can do alot of damage if its held to close.

    The same thing happened to me with my bike Bc I busted my stock cover so I put a new boysen cover and my 8oz wouldn’t fit so I had to order a spacer for it

    • @WrightRong

    • @WrightRong
      @WrightRong  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I knowwww I knowwww XD , it does bother me but I don't have a flywheel puller. I'd like to clean it up sometime but I'm also thinking about doing a bottom end this winter, if I were to do that I'd just wait and do it then. Anyway thanks for watching!

      it's hard to keep stuff out of there on this bike, mine was caked with sand, I ended up putting a little Honda bond on the rubber seal for the harness coming off of the stater. Going to have to do some more riding then a check to see if it's helping. Also the clutch cable coming into there rides a little loose. Been working up a little custom bracket and seal for it.

    I never seen one so excited about making their bike go slower lol , rotating mass has a huge affect on acceleration you want less not more

      Haha

    • @dxquinnno
      @dxquinnno ปีที่แล้ว +1

      there’s pros and cons for light and heavy flywheels depending on what you do, just because ur making the engine rotate slightly slower doesn’t mean the bike is slow, being able to control the bike more is gonna make you faster rather than a faster revving engine

      Usually, only people who have never used it make comments like that. I know a lot of people like this, and the thing they say most often is 'Don’t modify it, the factory settings are always the best.' Guess what, the so-called factory settings are just a configuration that 'the engineers you mentioned think might work for you.' Bacon once said that knowledge is power, and clearly, you have no power.

    did you not wonder why there was all kinds of dust and mud in there? your gasket is done but yet you end up putting the same gasket and just closing it right back. Men at least clean the damn thing. Poor YZ, you do not deserve it.

    • @WrightRong
      @WrightRong  5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      That is there by design, it lets the condensation out to help prevent rusting of the stator components. Obviously didn't work on this bike as I sense it's been stored outside at one point or another. Nonetheless, you should try and be less hateful man!
