    Hi, I'm late but this is Lucky Bamboo (Dracaena sanderiana). Also it is actually not bamboo! it is a dracaena as the scientific name shows, and is in the asparagus family and related to the Corn Plant, a common house plant.

    Thank you I bought one for my husband It's very small still. This is one of the only videos that looks like my husband's plant in a larger version.
    So thank you for making this video!! My question is do you have to feed them at all when they are potted?? These have longer leaves so are they different than the lucky plant we see in the stores? Looks like they grow much taller.

      My pleasure. My husband bought me this plant many years ago in 2004 and it grew like that, he also bought it in the store.

    Hi Maria!
    I mostly see bamboo planted in water with a decorative vase. Do you prefer planting bamboo in soil instead of placing only in water?
    Thanks for sharing🌱

      Angela Rose Yes I have seen them in water, but I do prefer soil 🙂

      Water became more a means of cheaply commercially shipping, soil makes them green and happy!

    Hello, how did you get your bamboo to grow so big? I have replanted mines about 3x and at this point I don't even think they make a pot bigger than the one I have it in and it wont grow anymore. Currently it is about as tall as my knees. Please advise as I would love to have my bamboo grow so big.

      Sorry for the delay, I basically didn’t do nothing, I just watered when really dry and had it front of very bright window, and would receive 1 hour sun from that window

    So you can put the cuttings in water and they will re root ? Or just re pot them? Do the lucky bamboo produce or attract little bugs?

    • @mariasplants
      @mariasplants  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not that i know of, they should not have any bugs, and yes they do root in water, just change the water every 2 days.

      Blooms?? I never knew they could bloom. I've had mine at least 10 yrs, never bloomed. It is almost to the ceiling, still in the small ceramic pot it came in, no dirt just tiny rocks. Your cutting/replanting video is just what I was looking for. Thanx
