Thanks for the video. Myself and Fishstick my bulldog are going out in the barn to transplant our bamboo plant now.Clean up should be easy a hose and a broom. Lol
I just found how from another video that my bamboo isn't really bamboo it's some kind of plant. Ah who cares, no one else will know except TH-cam 🤫 You have a great week too! Thx
I bought my first bamboo a few months ago. Decided it it needed a bit bigger pot, I thought it was all in water but when I turned it upside down there was a small amount of light colored dirt in the bottom with the rock. I got a small amount of potting soil and mixed it in with the new rocks and planted my bamboo pot and that mixture. After watching this I'm wondering if I should rinse it off and get the dirt out and use all rocks. Your thoughts, please? Thank you!
Bamboo can definitely thrive planted in soil! I personally don’t have experience with that but I would say give it a few weeks and see how it does, if the plant still seems happy it should be just fine:) if it starts to look unhappy I would give the all rocks repot a try!
@@reannemichellevids I watched your video again and decided to ditch the dirt :-) it seems to be happily growing and nothing but water and Rock! Thanks for the great video!
My suggestion to an otherwise perfect transplant/repot is to drill a drainage hole in the new container. They love to get wet but they don’t thrive with standing water in the container.
If you are planting your bamboo like I did in the video, then no the pot does not need a hole at the bottom, the roots will sit in the water. If your bamboo is in soil then I do suggest having a drainage hole. Hope this helps.
What if your plant is in soil know a plastic container with pebbles on top and that sits down know a plastic container with no drain hole. How do you water that?
i can’t see bottom of container with rocks to see how much or when i should water. my last bamboos died, overwatering. label on this one says water every other day, but that sounds suspect. any suggestions? great video, btw. /Bklyn👑
Should the vase be a lot kore wider than the width of the roots of the bamboo? I just repotted mine but I’m not sure if I out it in the right vase… it’s definitely longer, but maybe not wider
Any pot bigger than the last is sure to help! I would suggest a vase with a bit of room around all sides of the roots so they aren’t squished to the sides. :)
I am not entirely sure on this one. But I would say give her a good water once a week depending on how much she soaks up. You have a nice sized pot there so just make sure to take your time to let the water reach all the roots. Check the soil in a few days to a week, if it’s still damp give it a few more days for the next water. You definitely don’t want to over water though! Again, not an expert but I hope this helps and I wish you luck! Biggest advice, just watch and observe your plant! 🤍🙏🏼 thanks for watching:)
@@reannemichellevids thank you :) i had a quick look but I feel like.. I'd be safer with repotting it in like rocks.. we got it as a gift from my mother in law soo just to be safe I'll repot it in rocks lol just so I dont accidentally kill our plant lol my hobbie now is to repot cuttings.. I just find plants on our walk and bring back cuttings and hopefully they survive :/ we've got compost and container soil so see how it goes.. i saw someone giving a tip for planting cuttings and that's to cover plants in a pot of soul with a bag over it to keep the moister and humidity?... but I'm not sure I'll do more research anyway lol thanks again x
I would make sure it is getting enough water. If you already water frequently, make sure it’s not overwatered(if it’s in soil make sure the pot has good drainage.) If that doesn’t help try changing its location, more/less light. Hope this helps!🙏🏼 good luck:)
Yes, my bamboo is thriving under the rocks! I water about twice a month and fill it until you see the water hit the rock line. No need to clean it out:)
Thanks for watching! Brown spots on a bamboo could indicate that it’s getting too much direct sunlight or too much heat. Maybe try to find a new spot for her! Good luck🙏🏼😁
@@reannemichellevids thanks for the reply. I bought one yesterday from a supermarket, and while I haven't thoroughly checked it, I tugged at it and it hasn't loosened up! I've heard about places gluing succulents and bamboo so I thought I'd ask lol
Your video was so fun to watch! You remind me of my bestfriend, who’s also a “botanical bitch” LOL (*insider* no disrespect) I have a bamboo that looks similar to yours it’s nice and green. & Just yesterday my bestfriend gave me another bamboo plant as a gift, but it’s got a decent amount of yellow leaves. It’s gonna be interesting to revive it and see how it grows. Funny thing, I plan on repotting it with aquarium marbles as well (Great minds.. as they say) 😊🤙🏽
Thank so much for watching and that great feedback😆it means a lot that you enjoyed it! Bamboo are such cool plants and I hope you’re able to revive the new one! Best of luck to you and botanical bestie!☺️

Nice I’m going to do my bamboo plant today. Thanks for sharing.☺️
You are so funny and adorable!
Awe thank you!!
I would suggest using a strainer for rinsing the rocks. Less of a mess. I have a bamboo and plan to repot it soon it's growing another bamboo.
Yes! A strainer would have been nice, unfortunately I did not have one at the time! Good luck with your bamboo🙏🏼 Happy growing:)
Perhaps you could try paper towels instead of a strainer
Ok…I’m gonna do it…I have watched your video a couple weeks ago and have put it off, cuz ima scarrred !! Lol thx for the vid!!!
Good luck! And don’t worry too much, everything should go smoothly:) thanks for watching!
Thanks for the nice simple video 😊
Repotting mine this week! Have 2 big plants that should have been done years ago.
Wonder if I could use sand🤔Whatcha think?
I’m honestly not sure about how it would grow in sand. I would do a quick google search if I were you :) best of luck to you this week!

No it doesn’t. I would suggest doing some research on what type of soil they like though! You could also let it grow in just water!

can you cut the bottom roots at some point? i have a plant that is out of control w/the roots
Yes it should be okay to trim the bottom of the roots lightly to thin them. :)
Wish I'd seen this a couple years ago. I had an awesome little bamboo plant and it died, I'm thinking it didn't have room to grow!
Such a bummer! Maybe you’ll find yourself with another :) thanks for watching!

Does the Bambu can survive under rocks ? Do you Water it once q week ? How to clean the water q how often ?

Didn’t you add water ?
I added water after all the rockets were in place. I fill the water up to the rock line :)
Was your bamboo plant glued to the rocks? Before you repotted?
No it was not glued. The roots did hold onto them pretty well though. I hope no one is gluing their bamboo!🙏🏼
