I thought only Japan got the Virtua Racing remake. I've looked and hoped for years they'd release it here in Europe, but with no luck. Nowhere have I ever seen a single hint that it was part of the Sega Classic Collection, until today. Thanks Classic Game Room, I already ordered it before I could finish typing this comment.
I loved this on the PS2, never understood why it got so many bad reviews and 3d ages flopped in Sega's home country. Too bad, I would love to play those remakes on the XBox 360.
Wow, I thought this was going to be yet another collection of sega games emulated for a quick buck, but these remakes are freaking awesome! It's exactly how remakes should be, nearly the same gameplay, but with nice graphics.
Hey Mark! I got this compilation 10 years ago on the day it came out. I loved the modern versions of OutRun, Monaco GP, Alien Syndrome, Space Harrier, Columns and Fantasy Zone. It would've been nice if they included After Burner II.
Wow - so they did a really good job with Alien Syndrome? 👾 That's good to know! I have this remaked collection... Golden Axe could've been better, but I like how the individual strengths and weaknesses 📊 of each character are more clearly defined in this version - and the music 🎶 is outstanding on the PS2! Still worthy of looking into, imo.
This would be a lot better if Monaco GP was replaced with Super Monaco GP, and there were ports of the original games without the remaster enhancement as well, good review as usual Mark...
I really wish the updated Sega Ages Phantasy Star games made it state side. It is cool to have all the original versions on the Sonic Genesis Collection but that updated PS1 and PS2 looked great!
Ok I'm sold - will be ordering one now. Now if only they could do HD & updated graphics of Dreamcast games collection on a disc to be released for the PS4 XB1
Its too fresh in peoples memories but I'm inclined to agree. I'm a Saturn/Dreamcast/Neo Geo/Mega Drive buff overall but for top "new" titles, genre busters and porting all these Japanese games, all the classics from SNK & all the arcade collections/collections for classic consoles, a PS2 with a Swapmagic/Mod wins hands down. What else can compete when you look at it that way? The system is a behemoth even taking into consideration the Hacking/Homebrew jiggery pokery you can do with the Xbox IMO!
When I bought this I was really disappointed with Space Harrier, it looks hideous. Even though it's 31 years old the original still looks gorgeous. I'll just stick with the original I have downloaded on my Wii. I was glad they didn't ruin Fantasy Zone.
Dude, I loved this game, alone syndrome was an awesome game me and my brother played, though we scratched it and lost it, I really miss playing the game
virtua racer is good apart from the skid sound effect - i love the flat shaded polygons and am waiting for some HD remakes of the ol' polygonal style games
YO I FUCKING REMEMBER THESE FUCKING GAMES D: SO MUCH NOSTALGIA! BACK WHEN I WAS 5 I USED TO PLAY IT WHILE MY DAD WAS WATCHING ME :( I WAS CRYING WHEN I FOUND THIS......
Yeah I was about 4 or 5 when this came out. Those were some of the best times of my life. Everything just seemed so peaceful and I hadn't lost anyone (family wise). If I had the option to trade my life right now back to when I was a kid that'd be tough. But if I could go back just once I definitely would
Easy to find on Ebay but also could be in your local store - that said I've had a right drought of "good" and classic PS2 games in all my local stores (town and city) - yes I own most of them anyway, but just browsing through them it seems people are wising up a bit! Still, its different all over the place so have a look dude - last time I saw this it was £1.50 or $2.75-$3.
Have this myself proudly on the shelf. Why were you playing that Monaco GP? There's a slightly shinier version on the disc. The port of V.R is easily my second favourite ever behind the 32X masterpiece
Can't believe you don't give fantasy zone much love sounds like you didn't play it much if at all, after 37 years of gaming it's still my fav shoot em up of time!
Yeah, the supercomputer needed to run PS2 emulators well enough for the games to be playable totally doesn't make that a bad deal or anything along those lines, heavens no. I mean, it's not like you could buy a TV, a PS2 and all the games you were planning to download as ISOs for that money and still have money over for an average computer when you're done like I did or anything, no, not at all.
I remember X-Play bashed this game, not due to how the games played, but because the graphics weren't updated enough. Not that the show was that much better than an industry shill show.
I really don't understand why the inital reviews for this were so scathing (the X-Play one in particular), I got it for my cousin one year for his birthday and we had an utter blast playing it. Golden Axe was a bit bad, especially the shared lives pool between two players and the fact that it was a weird amalgam of the first and second arcade releases, but other than that I thought that it was a steal for $20
I'm 13 & I just got in to older games cuz new ones are (here's most of the gaming market today) FPS & Zombies, + they're all too easy... so I get emulators & play them there unless there's a remake
TH-cam needs to leave these game channels alone and continue to allow walkthroughs/reviews. I love classic game room.
I thought only Japan got the Virtua Racing remake.
I've looked and hoped for years they'd release it here in Europe, but with no luck.

Mohammad is a saint for continuing to donate all these good games. You go, Mohammad from Qatar!
Wow, I thought this was going to be yet another collection of sega games emulated for a quick buck, but these remakes are freaking awesome! It's exactly how remakes should be, nearly the same gameplay, but with nice graphics.

I would relive my childhood/teenagehood if these things occured more often...
Outrun probably my favourite game franchise but never seen this one before. Doesn’t look too bad
This game was the first console game I ever played! I love It!!!!!!!!
I still play this game almost daily every classic sega game on it is so great in 3d.
Wow - so they did a really good job with Alien Syndrome? 👾 That's good to know! I have this remaked collection...

ColourShedProductions an enhanced Super Monaco GP would be outstanding.
I love this collection. It goes the extra mile by not just throwing the games on the disc and calling it a day.
At least Golden Axe had good music.
That was really cool how you twisted the facts to make up your own story about what really happened.
i love how they are 3-d, but kinda still have that 2-d feel to them. :D
DUDE WTF i wish they would re-release this for the new consoles, it, looks. amazing.
I didn't know about this collection! Looks amazing!
Finally you talk about the Golden Axe. I'm sad to hear its not that good.
I would love to see a video of marks entire game collection!
Ooooooh, Fantasy Zone looks great, I loved playing that on my sega master system :D
I've got this and I haven't played it it in years, I'll give the disc an overdue spin, thanks to this review. :)
They need to remake monico gp on the Dreamcast. They could start by making it playable or fun.
I remember playing this. It was fun.
Fuck yeah Mohammed is back again ! Such a generous guy
I really wish the updated Sega Ages Phantasy Star games made it state side. It is cool to have all the original versions on the Sonic Genesis Collection but that updated PS1 and PS2 looked great!
Oh they did a killer job on Alien syndrome! I'll have to get this.
Still playing this 2020 😎
Ok I'm sold - will be ordering one now. Now if only they could do HD & updated graphics of Dreamcast games collection on a disc to be released for the PS4 XB1
Outrun and Space Harrier are definitely worth the cost of this game.
Mohammad from Qatar kicks ass! He has good taste in what he sends and boy he sends a lot.
Ok yes the good old days of gaming
Its too fresh in peoples memories but I'm inclined to agree. "3D Hot Pants in the Fantasy Zone"
YOU ARE 100% RIGHT. Like this->
PS2 > (Original Xbox + (GameCube / 2))
When I bought this I was really disappointed with Space Harrier, it looks hideous. Even though it's 31 years old the original still looks gorgeous. I'll just stick with the original I have downloaded on my Wii. I was glad they didn't ruin Fantasy Zone.
I think we could groove to the Outrun music all day long could'nt we?
I got this ages (pun intended) ago but only tried Golden Axe, need to dig this out again
Is Virtua Racing in this collection better looking than the original arcade version?
+boru25 yes it is, but the sound of the tires is really anoying!! other than that is a superior version!
I would get it. Great value for the money. Fantasy Zone is reason enough to get it.
Nice bro ! I just buy it ffew minutes ago ! for playing outrun and virtua racing with my driving force gt.
was about to say the same thing. Saw some Tigers in there as well.
The Gamecube will always be the best console for me, but yeah the PS2 is easily the most successful console ever... and dat library...
YO I FUCKING REMEMBER THESE FUCKING GAMES D: SO MUCH NOSTALGIA! BACK WHEN I WAS 5 I USED TO PLAY IT WHILE MY DAD WAS WATCHING ME :( I WAS CRYING WHEN I FOUND THIS......

I must be the only one that's favourite game of this collection was bonanza bros.

Some great games there :)
Awesome collection of games.
Not at all I'm implying that his voice should be on the radio because it's that good.
Is Alien Syndrome only on the NTSC verson? I could swear it's not on my PAL copy.
aww, no Alien Syndrome in the PAL version, I do love the Virtua Racing though
Mohammed must own every game and game-related device ever made haha
The fun doesn't stop there. i like that.
Proud owner of that collection. :-)
They look more like saturn games, wich is not bad, i like the style
I had that game since it wuz new, it's awesome.
PS2 is still to this day the best game console ever. It has the best lineup of any console in history, even better than the SNES imo.
Hi, What's the name of the synthesizer music that plays at the beginning of this video?
boy george
Mohammed is a legend. What an upstanding young lad.
Mohammed from Kotor. Man, that would be awesome!
Nice review
If I recall correctly, this title got panned when it came out, for some reason. I am not sure why, but it did.
You had me sold at OutRun!!!
Haha at first i thought all those titles you listed were on game,
"Outrun: Space Carrier Monaco GP Fantasy Zone Alien Syndrome" lol XD
reverb effect ? Surely he's earned his own theme music by now ? Also thinking Felicity has earned herself a drum roll :D
I wish they would have had a Panzer Dragoon & Sega Rally remastered on here!
The playstation reviews are awsome!
Have this myself proudly on the shelf. Why were you playing that Monaco GP? There's a slightly shinier version on the disc. The port of V.R is easily my second favourite ever behind the 32X masterpiece
This guy has a voice fit for the radio.
Can't believe you don't give fantasy zone much love sounds like you didn't play it much if at all, after 37 years of gaming it's still my fav shoot em up of time!
I'm glad they didn't ruin street of range!
I picked this game up for 10 bucks.....Great value!
Best handheld, without doubt.
I vote from now on any time the name of the beloved Mohammed is mentioned, we get some reverb effect. He's more than earned it.
Do own. Alas, a forgotten gem.

Damn, it looks good too. :(
I Found the ACIVISION'S ATARI 2600 Classics on PC!
I wonder if CGR has done Midway Arcade Treasures 1 and 2. Those are worth it for Robotron, and of course TOTAL KARNAGE!!
I remember X-Play bashed this game, not due to how the games played, but because the graphics weren't updated enough. Not that the show was that much better than an industry shill show.
Sega for life
Sega for life
I'm drooling here, i want this on my Xbox 360!
... pretty please, SEGA...?
lol i got hooked to space harrier playing shenmue 2 arcades
I'd buy it for the name alone.
A Sega collection without Sonic? Shocking.
If I had this compilation disc, I would play the 3D remastered version of the original OutRun! The graphics are so awesome!
I never could get the outrun game on this disc to work. It wood go to teh loading screen and then stop
this is an ARCADE collection, not a Sega Genesis collection, so good luck getting the original arcade cabinets for each one.
Looks great too bad I missed out on this game!
this is a Sega ARCADE Classics collection.
Streets of Rage was never in the arcades.
SPACE HARRIER!! OH MY GOD!! SPACE HARRIER!!
NICE REVIEW... but I sometimes must Facepalm with your comedy at times...
Hey man..you sound Just like Joe Swanson from family guy
someone needs to send in "Toe Jam & Earl" for review
I really don't understand why the inital reviews for this were so scathing (the X-Play one in particular), I got it for my cousin one year for his birthday and we had an utter blast playing it. Tant-R is an old arcade game. Basically if you like Warioware INC. on the various nintendo systems, then you will like Tant-R.
My question is... where does Mohammad keep getting all theses games?!
I'm 13 & I just got in to older games cuz new ones are (here's most of the gaming market today) FPS & Zombies, + they're all too easy... so I get emulators & play them there unless there's a remake
Man... Sega always had the coolest shit back in the day. Too bad Nintendo and Sony put an end to their console war.
