@Restore It, please make your video's longer man. 15min is too damnn low. Make it at least 40min please. What you doing, is better than any movie at Netflix. Goodluck bro
The definition of quality, as always.... perfect job. Do not get bothered with the people who are complaining about the rectification process. This is not a walkthrough video.
How privilege i feel to have watched such an in depth process of a Cylinder head and Block clean, testing and re-assemble. Thank you for bring us such content, we truly appreciate it. Thumbs up to Rectidama for allowing you to film this content.
How in the world did man devise such a precise piece of technology to power our cars??? Awesome to watch! Thanks Steve. I know you must be getting pretty excited. We are too!
I was thinking about this project of yours just before entered my home notification popped up. cleaned my home, showered, made tea and now I will enjoy this video. Thankyou

Wow, i want to all this on a Honda cb 750four a year or two ago and i'm realy feeling the same joy watching your video's. Every job done, every bolt tighten is a step closer to the final Key turn. I wish you a lot of succes and joy when this is all over. Greatings from Belgium.
i swear on everything i own that your E30 Touring restoration and Mastermilo's T55 tank restoration are the only two series i really look forward to on TH-cam. Couldn't have clicked faster.
Ostias con lo bien que hablas inglés no sabía que eras español jajaja. Me encanta tu canal tus videos me tienen enganchadisimo me miro cada segundo. Sigue así felicidades.
I love how most of the comments are "oh no lube on the bearings" or "oh no they didnt do that thing"! Relax, people, these are professionals, quite good ones, too. The probability that they've done that more than you have and better than you have is quite high. There is lube. They have done everything correctly. Bear in mind that this is the 'short' version, you can't (and don't have to) film everything. Otherwise - great job on the engine. Looks good now.
Hello! I'm watching Your channel from a along time, and thank You for the detailed videos. As a bmw fan and owner I suggest checking valve clearance AFTER assembling the head on the block and torque-ing it down.
I'd check the valve lash after the head is installed and torqued down. Even with both mating surfaces decked, the head twists and moves around a little after the bolts are in and the valve clearances change. I set my valve lash after I rebuild my 885 and before I torqued it down. After I put the headbolts in, all of the clearances were too tight and I had to readjust. Last thing you want is to wipe a cam or wear out a rocker on break in. Good luck.
I am looking forward to seeing the next video. Seeing as you painted so many parts with silver paint I was surprised to see you went with black for the block. If you really want an ultrasonic cleaner there are vids on YT showing how to DIY but I guess it depends if you have enough need to justify the space it takes.
well meaning tip:Double check each valve clearance after tightening the eccentric because the tightening process can[and did on me] rotate the eccentric or leave the feeler gauge in place until tightening is complete ant the drag of the gauge stays the same. I enjoy watching your 'no nonsence' instructive viodeos.
It is preferred to use the socket side of the extension to push out the rocker bars. You can damage the aluminium plugs at the ends (dont ask me how i know...) If you hit it with the square end.
Man i love your videos, i'm happy for you, really. I would like to do the same for my E34 525i m20b25, and you know what ? My clutch died this morning lol... see you next week.🤙
@@victorpelini5995 flycutters can remove a lot more material faster, but they might not have the best surface finish, ideally you'd deck it and then use a surface grinder to get the best results but most of the time a flycutter will do the job good enough and cheaper and quicker
@@md4luckycharms hoooo I see Well, ive seen more grindstone than flycutter in machine shops here (France) so I guess its cultural 🤷 Also you should remember the fact that murican motors are bigger and usually have twice the cylinder count 🙃 (dem V8)
@@victorpelini5995 It's interesting to see the differences in engineering culture between countries I must say, thinking about it, it might be nice to see those differences mentioned at engineering schools. However, as to the reason I see more flycutters here in the States than in France. My thoughts are that much of the machinery was concentrated in the remaining machine shops after the world wars while here in the US the wartime machines got sold to the general public. Good quality used milling machines are in abundance here while I don't see many surface grinders out and about. I figure that the shops over there that could do that kind of work had the equipment already or got sufficient business that they could afford it, whereas here you had options as to which shop you could go to for cheaper. Not to mention that tolerances for engines are probably a bit more relaxed over here. Just my thoughts with the information that I currently have. On my bucket list is traveling to Europe to figure out how we got from blacksmithing to lathes to Mills to cnc machines repeatedly accurate to the millionth.
Seeing them go down into the ultrasonic cleaner, my thoughts were "that is never an ultrasonic cleaner" "way too big for an ultrasonic cleaner" and then the noise starts ... scary machine :D
I wanna build an ultrasonic cleaner out of my in ground swimming pool... I just need to repurpose a couple hundred normal sized ones. Sounds like wise and financially prudent endeavor.

Saludos!
Great to see a m20 coming back to life, great work. Question why did the engine guy not use lube on the bearings! mate you'll spin a bearing on start up I'd be taking the main cap off and adding lube asap
Did you reuse the Pistons? No stroker build or anything just a refresh of the rings and bearings? I'm looking to do the same thing. Refresh a bottom end and hopefully not have to bore it bigger.
Thanks for watching! I will reply to your comments once this storm passes Alicante and my internet comes back!

Only if I ask question I would appreciate a reply, but to general comments, nah I don't expect any reply. Great series btw.
I’m from alicante cared to translate your videos to Spanish ?
I’wouldn’t mind giving a hand
Am i the only one who thought the ultrasonic cleaner sounded like the start to a sick song
MasterBeta343 sounded like firestarter for the first half second
haha i thought so too
as in The War of Worlds ! :)
The satisfaction of seeing a motor being renewed like this is too much!! I bet you loved every second of it. Thanks a lot for sharing with us!
The best series on TH-cam by far, keep the insanely hard work up mate, I can only wish to put the same love into my little Mk2 Fiesta! 👌
Thanks Bavarium! Appreciate it!

Would love to see you taking the car to a Dyno when finished

Are my eyes deceiving me, or did he not use any assembly lube when assembling the bottom end there?
nope i think they did not use any .
@@creative.with.JeffHak they must have it was just not on the video. it would not rotate so smoothly if it was not lubed.
I was wondering the same but looks like they did. Bearing surfaces are shining.
You can see the red fluid on the bearings.
Yup you're right. No assembly lube which is distrubing and even more so disturbing when the engine gets cranked for the first time. Yikes!
This is going to be the most reliable BMW in existence.
Hi
My Friday wouldn't be completed without an episode of restore it
After this superb restoration, this car is surely going to run like a dream - better than the original.
I love your videos, It’s the only series of videos I am actively watching on TH-cam!
Fantastic work.
Leave all the parts there, makes you look all cool with an art installation in your house
