    • @gabrielleayers5966
      @gabrielleayers5966  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very good question! The shield does have a slickness to it but it’s not slippery. It’s similar to the metal that is already there. If there is a lot of horse play like running or jumping one could slip a little. I would recommend adding pool noodles around the edges. In general I don’t think it’s any more slippery than the metal itself.

    couple more ? if possible, in between coats did you use new pans for each coat? I noticed some said you might need to have a new pan for each coat to avoid issues. How much would you mix at the time and while you stopped to mix up more did it seem to have any problem blending with what you had already put on before stopping to mix? I just wonder if stopping and starting in the process is better than overmixing to start with and then it drying up on you mid process. lol thanks. sorry to ask so much.

    • @gabrielleayers5966

      TNPRIZE55 hey! Yes I would recommend more than one pan. Also yes only mix what you need a small batch. I followed the instructions so I mixed the same amount each time. It gets a little thicker the second coat because you use less alcohol to thin it out.

    THANK YOU for this! I've been researching for hours, getting mixed information and this is exactly what I was looking for. We pick up our 8' tank this week. Did you use a sander or do it by hand? Did you happen to buy a cover for it and if so, what did you get?

      Hmm well, it’s not really paint so I think it will be fine. Just imagine a liquid fiber glass like shield being “painted” on to later harden. I would be sure to apply it in a shaded area so it won’t cure as quickly. It gets pretty hot here in TX too. So far so good.

      chlorine eats away the zinc coating and then the steel rusts.
      Typically a sacrificial anode like any in a hot water heater will probably prevent that

    I tried this last summer and mine started to chip by the end of summer! And now I left it empty over the winter and a lot of paint chipped away. NO rust though. However, I am wondering if I didn't sand it enough and if there is any step that we did wrong. But i am gonna sand off the old paint and tried again these couple weeks. Does anyone have the same experience? I would like to know if any one have similar problem and how you fix it. Thank you!

      I have an update video. But yes if more coats would be ideal. I didn’t want to pay any more money for the product. It’s a weird product to work with because you could do a solid second coat and because it’s in the mist of drying won’t permit you to use all of the remaining product.

    Ohhhh I love your pool!!!!🏖. Thanks for the tips 👏🏻. I’ve been looking up stock tanks pools last couple months and my hubby says “hey babe what are you doing?” Then he sees my phone with Pinterest stock tank pics and he says “ohhhh you’re still on that?! “🤣🤣🤣🤣. I really want one but we are a family of 8...it’s mainly for me and our 3 littles and of older 3 teens want they can get in on own. It’s just something I want to chill in. Lol. Trying to decide if it’s worth the $600 bucks we will have into it. I love the idea of the Pond coating you used. Do you think it’ll peel eventually? The people that used rustoleum are seeing rust. I love the blue inside too:) great job!!!!

    • @gabrielleayers5966

      you will love it. If it peels i think it would be a natural wear and tear type of thing. Because its created to let water sit on it, i dont think it will chip or peel because of that. Thanks for the love!

      We have had our tank 20 years, I have painted the outside a few times because I wanted to change the color, I used 1 can of Rust-Oleum on a ,6' pool, and a can underneath. We live on the coast where everything rusts bad, but our pool hasn't rusted. I painted the inside walls with the same,but blue, it took 2 cans. I had painted the floor also but it started chipping because of all the action of little feet, but the walls are still perfect. So I am going to pour some epoxy after I paint this time. I am painting fish on the bottom of mine!
