I've watched some of your videos recently and just came across this older one. I would've thought you're in your early 40's! Amazing, my friend. I think you're absolutely lovely and you've been an inspiration to me. I'm barely a year younger than you (Nov. '56) but definitely look older than you...never took care of my skin when I was younger & raising my two sons as a single mother, and I smoked for many years. I've been a non-smoker for 4 years now (yay!!) and am using many of the products you use on your face. I think retirement has given me time that I didn't used to have when raising kids to spoil myself a little bit, but I have a lot of damage to erase/heal. I do see a little difference and I just feel so much better! So thank you! I'm like you...I live in the South (Texas, orig from Louisiana) and autumn/winter is my favorite time of year. I do NOT like the Texas heat, and I'm married to a wonderful man who likes nothing better than to hike in 100-degrees! LOL. Also, I recommend skydiving! I did it 3 years ago and it was soooo fun! (Get the video...costs extra but it's so fun to watch later.) OMG I can write backwards too! Have done it since elementary school! I'm the baby of my family as well (3 older sisters). I've tried to buy the leather bound ones over the years to replace the paperback. I also have some of the Bronte sisters books there, too. Whenever someone visits, I always put together a little basket of personal items and snacks for their bedside and I always put an AC book there, too. Usually Murder on the Orient Express. One of my cats is named Agatha and my dog is named Oliver after Mrs. Oliver. Doug and I visited her grave the last time we were in England. I wrote her a little note and stuck it into the corner of her grave stone telling her thank you for all the joy she has brought me over the years. It was a very, very special moment for me. Doug stepped aside and gave me privacy and I smiled and cried. I can't tell you what she has meant to me. I have read her in hospitals after surgeries. I have read her in ER rooms while I was getting IV's, so she really holds a special place in my heart. I feel this with you now since you love her too! Take care my friend. Love, Melissa

I’m a new subscriber and just came across this old video of yours. That’s so cool that you love Agatha Christie! I do too. I fell in love with a lot of British writers as a preteen and teenager (Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the Brontes, Virginia Woolf, etc.), and I still love them today at age 47. I felt like I was the only American teenager in the ‘90s excitedly watching Miss Marple on PBS and daydreaming about living in a quaint little English village. Have you read Agatha Christie’s autobiography? She had such an interesting (and mysterious) life!! I’m fascinated by her. And I’m tall like you-5’9”! 😊
We have many things in common in terms of crime and detection! I read all of Agatha Christie in Jr. High or High School and I always wanted to be a detective! My favorite shows and books are true crime. People sometimes think it's morbid, but it's the detection that I love - plus the fact that these people actually think they'll get away with it! I'm sure you've already read Ann Rule's books, but if not I know you'll love them - I think she's probably my favorite true crime writer. She gets into all the psychology of the killers, she gets close to the families so she gets their perspective, plus she used to be a cop, so she has a lot of access to their investigations. The best! And I sponsored two kids through Compassion. I just read you said you got some flack about that. I can't imagine why. Keep on keeping on (!) knowing she will have chances in her life that others may never have because of you.

Great video. I was born April 20th too. We are an odd mix of Aries and Taurus, being born on the cusp. Burn Notice is my number one show too. I'm so sad it's ending, but I can't say I've loved this year...too dark. Your smack on the butt story was hysterical, I laughed out loud. I love my Agatha collection too. You can get the leather collection on eBay pretty reasonably. I bought them one at a time when they came out years ago. Luckily they survived Hurricane Katrina when it wrecked my house.

Part two of message : Then I suggest going to an island ( tidal island) called burgh island, you can stay at the hotel called burgh island hotel but it's very £ or have a drink in the sloop. Can't remember how old the put is, but it's 100s of years old. Smugglers pub. Christie visited this hotel a lot. Art deco. You get there by sea tractor at low tide. Then... Carry on down to st Ives in Cornwall etc. If you look up, these places on TH-cam you'll see why I'm suggesting them to you. May and June are quiet months outside of school holidays, after £ increases. It never gets very hot for very long here. I think you'll love it. Zoë

We have many things in common in terms of crime and detection! I read all of Agatha Christie in Jr. High or High School and I always wanted to be a detective! My favorite shows and books are true crime. People sometimes think it's morbid, but it's the detection that I love - plus the fact that these people actually think they'll get away with it! I'm sure you've already read Ann Rule's books, but if not I know you'll love them - I think she's probably my favorite true crime writer. She gets into all the psychology of the killers, she gets close to the families so she gets their perspective, plus she used to be a cop, so she has a lot of access to their investigations. The best! And I sponsored two kids through Compassion. I just read you said you got some flack about that. I can't imagine why. Keep on keeping on (!) knowing she will have chances in her life that others may never have because of you.

Great video. I was born April 20th too. We are an odd mix of Aries and Taurus, being born on the cusp. Burn Notice is my number one show too. I'm so sad it's ending, but I can't say I've loved this year...too dark. Your smack on the butt story was hysterical, I laughed out loud. I spect you felt a moment of familiarity, & didn't stop to thing about her being a stranger. Look forward to Burn Notice vid & house tour. We've redone 3 old house & are on our 4th redo of an arts & crafts house.

I love my Agatha collection too. You can get the leather collection on eBay pretty reasonably. I bought them one at a time when they came out years ago. Luckily they survived Hurricane Katrina when it wrecked my house.

Can't remember how old the put is, but it's 100s of years old. Smugglers pub. Christie visited this hotel a lot. Art deco. You get there by sea tractor at low tide. Then... Carry on down to st Ives in Cornwall etc. If you look up, these places on TH-cam you'll see why I'm suggesting them to you. May and June are quiet months outside of school holidays, after £ increases. It never gets very hot for very long here. I think you'll love it. Zoë
