12s Arrma Kraton First run with Max4 esc. [ONYX 6s 9,500HV vs CNHL 6S 10,000 Lipos]

Just trying out something different in the Arrma Kraton. Currently my PB with this rc is 119 mph with Castle XLX2 and TPpower 5860 1450 kv motor. This setup is Hobbywing Max4 esc with Castle 2028 800kv and I am running non sensored. I did not go too crazy on the gearing, I just wanted to hit 100 mph with the first outing of this esc in Arrma Kraton. I was running CNHL 6s 10,000 lipos and Onyx 6s 9500HV packs. I pre prepped both lipos the same and duration and both charged to 25.14 volts for 4.19 volts per cell. The ONYX packs can be safely charged to 26.04 voltsfor 4.34 volts per cell, but I didnt think that was necessary for a shakedown and comparison. Thanks for watching everyone and a lot more to come.

Nice dude, I have the same guts as you in my K8 but I'm still running CHNL 9500 6s on each side. I also still bash mine off road so I'm not squeezing her yet. That Max4 and 2080 800kv is a great match. I'm running 39 x 39 gearing and it's fun and doesn't give me high heat issues.

I have a Losi dbxle with xlx2 and tp power 1450 kv 5860 did you run your kraton on the standard timing setting of 10 degrees. Ive run my dbxle on a 16t 48 spur with 15 degree timing and managed 78mph off road. On 0 degree timing i ran 19t 46 spur and hit 79 both were done on 3°c temprature here in UK london and it was cold damp grass. So im thinking to run 12° timing 2°per pole. I got jims cermic hybrid bearings coming to hopefully make it easier to get to top speed as i only get a few seconds on full throttle. Just wondering if you were running timing on d wind motor as some say you can and some say no you just get heat but ive tried it myelf and got similar speed on lower gearing

Curious which esc have you put more power through without failure, the XLX2 or the Max4? Well aware of the voltage difference with different setups.
Me and a few others started water cooling the XLX2 controllers for boats in October 2021, they performed just as well in boat applications ended up converting 6 of them, then Castle released their own Watercooled one lol.

I've logged 22KW with max4 esc 9.5Ah capacity on 12s at 130F esc temp. I've logged 19kw with XLX2 esc will 12Ah on 8s for 200F esc temp. Can't really compare the 2 the max4 is much bigger and run higher voltage. XLX2 is the most powerful 8s esc for the money. Max4 is the most powerful 12s esc for the money

@@KiloWattRC thats almost a 1/4 mile away. Trust me,if you added FPV you'll be wondering why you dint do it sooner. I race 1/7 short course trucks with my friends, they top out at 55mph, it's a game changer.
