How this vertigo effect possible on DJI RSC2 + 17-28 Tamron. Had seen ur other video also.. u were using a side wheel too change focus /zoom . U press one button too change between focus /zoom.. On DJI RSC2 that side wheel also.. on front side.. n it control focus / zoom.. I'm able too control focus.. but not able too select zoom.. how can I select that focus / zoom.. N is it possible too change zoom internally without ney focus .. zoom rig attach .. as u did from phone..
Good video. Here's a solution to the A/B start points issue. 1) create any A point 2) Create B start point 3) Create C End point 4) delete point A. Now Point B becomes point A and C become point B. Your reverse programming is achieved and you are now standing at the start point.
Thanks for the review. I had been looking at all of the reviews for gimbals and decided that there are just too many good choices. In the end this would be my first gimbal and my first video endeavor. I did order and get the Moza Mini S and returned it within 3 days as I could not get it to hold balance. After all was said and done I opted for the Smooth 4 because it has been around long enough and proven itself. Also it had gone down in price to 119.00 dollars on Amazon. While this is my first to learn on I am ultimtely looking at the either the Movi Robot or the yet to be delivered Vilta M Pro but first I have to try and master this one. At the age of 76 and after being in still photography most of my life I look forward to this challenge of learning the ins and outs of mobile video. Thanks for all your great reviews. They have been very helpful.
The Smooth 4 is definitely a good choice. Zhiyun in general is not perfect but still a very good gimbal maker. The Smooth 4 will give you lots to play around with too :) Hope you enjoy it!
Great video I think I can now make a vertigo shot! I bought a smooth 4 gimbal about a month back and have yet to figure out how to stop the exposure from changing while shooting. It even changes when I have it set to manual. Any ideas?
Thanks! As for the exposure thing, I think it may have to do with the app itself and some bugs it has. It did the same to me when I was testing it and it was very frustrating. :(
The wheel is definitely not super smooth- it takes practice to get smooth movements. I think that's all there is too it unfortunately, practice and get a feel for it.
Unfortunately I'm not sure that you can recover deleted videos... if it's on iPhone and the videos are in your camera roll, there is a "recently deleted" folder but I don't think anything like that exists within the app itself.
With the Galaxy S8, I was only able to record up to 1080 @30p with the ZY Play app. The phone itself should be able to record up to 4K 30p from what I understand, so it seems to be a limitation of the app itself. The zoom was also really choppy in the ZY Play app on the Galaxy as well, totally unusable.
For me i find it irritating i was searching for vertigo tutorials and i find this video unclear for me- it does teaches the obvious but what the hell should you do like the process? Should you walk forward?
Sorry for the confusion. This is just a kind of supplementary video to a previous one I made where I think I went a bit more in depth. Here's that one: th-cam.com/video/91HiWGt3fU4/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for a great video. I have a question: I have purchased the smooth 4 and am finding that it kills my iPhone battery. I purchased the cable that uses the smooth 4 to charge the iPhone but still find it zaps the iPhone battery. I have now tried to conserve the iPhone battery by turning the phone on airport mode, still the draw is a killer to the iPhone. Do you have any suggestions to help me with the battery zapping? Thank you for any advice!!
Hi sorry I missed this comment. When you connect the cable, does your phone show that it's actually charging? If so, it shouldn't kill the battery so that sounds strange :( That would basically be my best advice so I'd check into the cable a bit more if you can.
I am glad that you have responded, many people don't see the question, are too busy probably to many questions etc. So thank you! Yes, the phone in charging with the Smooth 4 its self. I bought an additional cable to make that work. What I have done now is use a battery pack that charges the smooth 4 and the phone at the same time since its there'd to the Smooth 4 ( I keep the battery pack in my back pocket and run the cable to the Smooth 4) The phone still pulls a lot of power and I have been told that the Ap is the colperate. Even in Stand by mode the phone doesn't go to sleep. Some have said that Bluetooth drains the battery also. I'm not sure just what the problem is but will keep working on it. Thanks again!
No problem :) For me the comment was actually marked as spam for some reason and I just noticed it now. Not sure why. The app could definitely be a big part of it, as can bluetooth but I don't think Bluetooth is too bad so the app is likely more to blame, using a lot of processing power or something like that. Hope your current solution works for now until they can hopefully improve the apps drain on the battery!
SPAM??? Thats weird and not good.It wish I knew how to fix that, (one more technical issue)...... Hopefully the company can fix that battery phone burn. Thanks again
My pleasure :) I think TH-cam just picks up on certain keywords here and there sometimes and marks it as possible spam. Usually comments with links will fall into that but not sure for yours. Anyway, hope everything works out! Thanks again for watching :)
Thanks! It's most likely just luck in these cases but it could definitely be possible... when using the automated method I found myself focusing too much with trying to match the speed and timing of the automation and that might have caused my movement to be a little less smooth... but with the fully manual method I could "feel" both the zoom speed and my own movement, so it felt more natural.
Thanks so much! Yeah- I tested it a bit on Android today and the app does seem to have some issues I didn't experience on iPhone unfortunately. :( I'll definitely go over those things in more detail in my final review.
In the app you can choose a higher frame rate then slow it down in another program to get slow motion footage, but I believe there is also a dedicated slow motion mode that will slow it down in camera for you. You have more control when using a high frame rate, but if you use the built in mode you won't have to worry about doing anything further to it after taking the video since it will be ready to go.
Since Filmic Pro is a separate app I wouldn't see how that would work, but you can still use the gimbal (minus the manual controls on the handle unfortunately).
From my understanding it does to a certain degree... there's a switch on the side that can control the zoom on the Osmo, but it's not as easy to use as the wheel on the Zhiyun I would think. The Zhiyun can also control focus with the wheel, and the app is made to automate the vertigo feature as well (I'm not sure about the DJI app).
Great review but i am surprised as why people aren't talking about Zhiyun's biggest problem with its Android App? There isn't a single review on it as Zhiyun's providing these review samples and is only allowing it to be reviewed with iPhones only. They really should specify this product to be only 100% compatible with iOS and not with Android!
Ali Dollar thanks! A lot of people are definitely saying that about the android app, so I’m definitely planning to test it out in both iPhone and android before my overall review. The app is absolutely 50% (or more) of this gimbal to be honest, so if it falls flat there for android users it’s definitely not a good thing at all.
I think Xiaomi's Smartphone gimbal which is about to launch will be great for Android... You can preorder it from banggood. Definitely they are going to prefer android users as their smartphones are only android based.. then we will be able to get a gimbal which really cares about android users experience with the app... Unlike these apple fanboy gimbal products
That's good news. Android users need a break. Until now the Freevision Vilta M (and their app) has been the best for Android users but still not perfect in all cases. It seems to depend on the model of the phone which is what causes problems for most people I think- the sheer variety of Android phones they have to develop a working app for. Not all phones allow the app certain permissions in the same way or to the same level and that seems to cause certain features to work for some but not others. Not sure even an Android phone developer can overcome that issue besides for their own models. Fingers crossed though :)
Scott Dumas for years PC users were subject to all kinds of system problems because the PC hardware platform was opened to everyone who wanted to get into the business. There were so many versions of PC based machines that the system became hard to control things correctly because of various shortcuts that were taken in proprietory software and hardware. I tend to think that the Android system suffers from the same issues. There are so many variations on the system sofware and hardware components that it is just hard t write for. Apple for better or worse in all of their products controls hardware and the platform and in the long run makes it much easier for manufacturers of products like gimbals, etc. to produce something that is going to work. For me, and Iphone user, have decided to use Filmic Pro for the majority of what I want to do with branching over to the Smooth 4 app for a special feature only.
Thanks so much! I've been working on some promotional stuff for local shops and stuff around here, but I did make this little documentary a little while back :) th-cam.com/video/XMSaRB30O-Y/w-d-xo.html How's everything going with you??
Scott Dumas that was so cool! My dad thought it was good too and I’m doing good. I’ve started my film classes at school and I’ve gotten into photography a lot too
Thanks so much! I definitely want to try and do more like that when I can :) It was fun! That sounds awesome, will you be uploading more content to your TH-cam page? Do you have Facebook or anything like that?
I agree to a certain degree.. it's not terrible for iPhone (at the moment), but they have major issues with Android. For a gimbal who's main selling features require the app to work (vertigo, timelapse etc), they dropped the ball on 50% of the product by not perfecting the app. For iPhone though, still totally useable.
Chew-ing not Ziun how do I know this, well let’s see uh, I watched a demo video from an “Asian” rep from the company tell us the correct pronunciation! So come on let’s get it right!
It's work with out gimble
I can’t download the app where could i get that now in 2023

Ohhh clever! Thanks so much for the tip!! :-D And thanks for watching of course!
This doesn't make sense
After creating point C & deleting A, you are still standing at point B not starting point A. How is it any different.
it's have a hyperlapse mode?
Thanks for the review. I had been looking at all of the reviews for gimbals and decided that there are just too many good choices. Thanks for the reply. It will be a huge challenge trying to edit this stuff, that is if I can even use the footage.
The wheel is not nearly as smooth as it claims when zooming. Any solution for that ? Am using note 10
The wheel is definitely not super smooth- it takes practice to get smooth movements. I think that's all there is too it unfortunately, practice and get a feel for it.
Very helpful and well explained...thanks
how to recover deleted videos on the app??? HELP!!!!!

I try it but not working do I have to move or just use to zoom
Doest not work on my android.
So, can you shoot 4k with Samsung phones with the Android ZY play app?
With the Galaxy S8, I was only able to record up to 1080 @30p with the ZY Play app. The phone itself should be able to record up to 4K 30p from what I understand, so it seems to be a limitation of the app itself. Since Filmic Pro is a separate app I wouldn't see how that would work, but you can still use the gimbal (minus the manual controls on the handle unfortunately).
does DJI Osmo mobile 2 come with this function?
From my understanding it does to a certain degree... there's a switch on the side that can control the zoom on the Osmo, but it's not as easy to use as the wheel on the Zhiyun I would think. The Zhiyun can also control focus with the wheel, and the app is made to automate the vertigo feature as well (I'm not sure about the DJI app).

The app is crap. Makes the gimbal unpleasant to use.
