If you are not out causing problems and aren't doing anything illegal except flying without a license 99.9% of the time u will have not a single problem with the law.
Aussie drone/ rc laws are vry strict, your not allowed to fly over private property without prior permision, we are limited to the TX power (i think its 25mw). but the main thing is were not allowed to fly beyond visual line of sight, so with goggles your not allowed tyo use them out doors unless you have a very spacific and expensive licence or fly at a registerd field or fly indoors
This review was quite disappointing. It provided very little insight into the product itself. The only clear takeaway was that it was mounted in the wrong frame and wired incorrectly for high power. Unfortunately, this left me with no valuable information about the product's performance or features. It feels like your heart wasn’t in this review, mate.

Not even turning the power up? I doubt that he needs a license I never heard of such a thing for using a more powerful control system?
Man this thing can go really really far, specially in a wing or airplane. I´ve used theses long range AKK vtx and I can tell you it´s sick the distance they can go. Maybe people are so excited with dji and hd video that they don´t care about analog but I don´t know if hd vtx can do what analog vtx do, in terms of distance and not image quality

That's normal thing for some vtxs. You have a setting where you want it to be at minimum power when not armed and to go to the power you set when armed. Some vtxs will just glitch when arming. I remember some Happymodel vtxs were doing that, there are probably others. You can of course disable that in Betaflight. So I also don't understand why this is supposed to be a problem.

Oh boy you lose picture for a second when your arm it so what big deal it happens all the time and oh I have a 5 watt VTX it's made to go 20 km but I'm going to go 50ft and not leave my yard I'm not going to put it on full power so what is the point of your review

I have a Tyro 119 that has a VTX that also blacks out when you arm and when you disarm.........I've had two Tyro 119 and and two Tyr129's, all with the same VTX in it, but only the Tyro 119 had the issue with the vtx cuffing off on arm disarm.............I still have not figured out why.
If some one powered one of these up and carried it around in your pocket it would have enough power to disrupt the video feed to any fpv drone flying near you . 😉
The most powerful analog VTX I have is the last one I bought before going digital DJI, which is the Rush Tank Solo 1.6w VTX. It's a very nice little VTX. Kind of weak by todays standards, BUT 5 Watts is not even double the distance for the 1.6w Solo.
I have had 2 of the these but I was using them on a rock crawler the 1st got a little wet and it was toast. But the other seems to be working for now as long as I keep it dry.😊

According to google, rssi levels between -30 to -70 is considered excellent quality. I think you hit -29 at some point but most of your flight was within the excellent range.
I just found your channel thanks for info I've been looking into getting a 3d printer or 2 and a laser and router engraver to make a small buisness but I've been soo held back by how much things cost and how limited the use of them is I also like to feel like I'm getting a great deal I have a couple products in mind for safety and convenience in the trades that don't exist for a reasonable price I'd like to try to build my own solutions I'm a fabricator and have built hundreds of different things and fix them
First reaction is that if you are interested in really long range, and we already have elrs for control and now a vtx to match, you should get in and get some now before someone uses these things as a weapon and they will be banned and thus impossible to order.

i just saw apparently there's a mil spec version of betaflight that the Ukrainians fiddled with that lets you change frequency in the air and do all sorts of stuff with vtx's like this. Pretty fascinating.
Here's the comment I was looking for. With such a wide range of channels these are made so the pilot can bounce around channels mid flight and not get knocked out of the air.
Hi! There is an option on youtube that is enabled by default, its auto syncronisation for your video in different languages. Please turn it off, its replacing the video and audio with nonsense for example on a german client this video is just called "Alles vtx" which means "all vtx"
I don't think that vTX is made for drones I think it's more made for fixed wings that want to get out there I'd love to get my hands on a five-watt one and go start cruising the swamps on my fix swing planes makes it so much easier
Transmitting anything on the first world battlefield is a bad idea. AWACS sees all and will bring swift death from above. 2.4 because it's very crowded in urban environments at low wattage is safest but any target of value will have very powerful counter measures. Gps denial is easiest and everywhere because signal from space is weak. You know tbs works for them now? They didn't just sell out they now take human life for money. To your credit it appears you do not
Shame there's no easy and legal way to test the full power and range Down Under. Besides the obvious use, this looks more like the power level needed for Agri-Drone FPV, like on a Yamaha R-Max or Fazer Heli, or the big Octo's that are being used to ferry concrete up mountainous terrain to construction site in China.
I think a 5W Vtx is cool if only because of the high strength signal for bando/acro flying out to 500m. It’s a damned shame that our peaceful technology to fly for fun and exploration has been high-jacked for war.

@ did you use low power on disarm? I could imagine they use multiple pa‘s to reach a spread between 25 and 5000. so it could be they switch the pa‘s and thats why there is a short glitch

Any many watts :) at 5,8 GHz is a waste of power. Learn on dependency between frequency and a wave propagation! Waste of power ... It is better to use lower frequency, lower power and directional-high-gain (with tracking) antenna.

This is so sad. You reviewed this product just because of the money and didn't even at LEAST do a penetration test. Stu, when you say "I got money, so I think this is cool" is such a downputting way to look at something like this. I believe you can do so much better with a situation like this. You are great to the community, but you always downput analog as a video system. I hope you can do better in the future.
Typical business behaviour (and lets not forget this is a Chinese business)- say the thing that pleases the crouds, do the thing that makes the moneys, simple and good on em'. Super powerful vtx thats totally unrefined and glitchy because it's really only made for a single one way trip. If i were them I'd do the same, fuck everybody, somebody has to profit here and it might as well be me.

Some flight controllers don’t provide stable voltage to high-powered VTXs during startup.
Solution: Consider running the VTX off a dedicated BEC.
