- This LEGO representation of the Star Wars Trade Federation MTT was designed and built by Caleb Ricks. Ricks and his models have been featured on Brick Vault, Beyond The Brick, The Brothers Brick, just to name a few. This amazing tribute to the MTT is not only beautiful aesthetically, but is also engineered to function similarly to what we see in Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace (1999).
Special thanks to Caleb Ricks for taking his time to show me how it works and allowing me to video this amazing model! We all look forward to seeing what you will reveal next, and congratulations for this achievement!
You can purchase the instructions from Brick Vault at: www.brickvault.toys/products/.... BUILDING INSTRUCTIONS ONLY. Brick Vault is not selling this as a kit. I recommend looking for parts at www.bricklink.com/v2/main.page. (These are not sponsored. This is for information purposes only.)
If you liked this Star Wars model, please check out another from the same show, this one built by Jason Maggitti. I have had the opportunity to discuss with Jason about his design to add working missile launchers! And now Jason says he has TWO R.C. Hailfire Droids! Yep, you read that right, go check it out!

this set actually deserves and warrants a UCS. WHY IS LEGO NOT MAKING IT
Cuz it’s a prequel set lol
Also cause it makes too much sense for Lego to release this instead of the 30th Millennium Falcon set
They did't make this set but they make a terrible ucs hulkbuster
@@danieletavaglione9615 It's probably two different departments, two different budgets and different KPI's.
not enough colours inside, too many parts, not enough stickers. too expensive. that's why.
It always bugged me about how small the mtts looked in the complete saga
Because they’re based on the 1999 lego set which was small af
@@uh869 ye
@@uh869 I think it was made on 2000

Seriously the perfect MTT MOC. I could only ever dream of making one like this. It's freaking amazing.
Perfect if it would open correctly and not fold out those droids.
“What does this button do”
“I dunno just DONT PUSH IT”
1:30
Sounded lil bit like young SlingBlade. don't pushit he just a boy
We need more UCS prequels stuff. Especially from the phantom menace. It has so many incredible designs.
Agreed
Definitely but lego basically had to be held at gunpoint to release the gunship so it’ll be a while before the next one I reckon. Hope I’m wrong but
What, you don't want yet another Star Destroyer, Aluminum Falcon or Death Star?
You're totally right.
@@JacopoSkydweller what the hell is an aluminum falcon?!!
@@Chosen_one_501 *Quietly* "I love you too."
That's beautiful.
Indeed! I was impressed, then when Caleb lowered the droids… WOW. It took me back to the first time watching the films (not so long ago, in neighborhood not so far away).
Indeed it is, my friend
Not gonna lie, that's the coolest MTT I've ever seen. I love that the actual droid rack is so close to the actual film. You never see that!
1:28 oh my God the voices in the background are perfect 😂 "I don't know just don't push it"
Just realized it's almost like it's coming from the droids
The coolest part about the MTT is that it very likely was inspired by the Assyrian battering ram. Lucas clearly took inspiration from other historical weapons and vehicles, and rarely have I seen designers ever be able to do anything with its distinct shape.
Yeah the unified design language of all the Trade Federation equipment in Episode 1 was really cool.
So cool! If he found a way to fit a motor in there, it would be epic!
I’m sure it could be done.
For function over form you could just attach a motor to the nobs to speed it up, but this still looks incredible
@@awanderer3047 That would be good if it was being displayed in a case. The motor could be hidden below, with a belt coming up through a hole.
Either with chains, lots of long axles, or maybe using the newer Prime linear motors, with some remote control action.
@@GearsAndBricks change the gear ratio to make it come out a little faster and it would be perfect
This is genuinely fantastic, now this is something that will warrant a 500+ value
08 MTT is one of my dream sets that I never got as a kid and seeing this is just AMAZING!
I remember my friend always got the big expensive Star wars sets while I had to make do with 5 battlepacks. I tried calling his mom when I was 14 to see if he wanted to sell it. Sadly no luck, neither on his LAAT gunship at the time.
It was 2007 not 2008
@@Vor1ki you are right, 08 is the time when I saw it in store, my bad
@@TheRocco728 nah it’s fine I shouldn’t be correcting about every little detail. It’s one of my toxic traits I need to work on
I can't be the only one who was vividly replaying the sound effects of this scene in my head
Honestly the perfection is so on point - that I know the builder wants to and is capable of making further improvements. With some research into gear reduction and a simple gearbox hidden in the interior, he could speed up deployment speed.
*After showing the deployment feature*
“Wow I like the cool little details around it-“
“BUT WERE NOT DONE YET” *opens cockpit*
This would make a dope UCS set.
this guy is a legend you will be remember in the halls of lego star wars fan forever
I think I'm gonna cry. Thats beautiful
This was one of the coolest aspects of the Droid army imo. The engineering amazed me as a kid, and I always wanted one of these transports as a set because of this feature.
This is immaculate, and I’m already disappointed by the next LEGO MTT because it won’t be this awesome
That is such a cool design. Loved the 2008 MTT and this just ramps it way up. Honestly really well done.
How has this not blown up!!! It's the greatest thing I've ever seen!!!
Super amazing. I'm very impressed by this MTT's functionality and details.
One of the best moc’s I’ve seen! Excellent job! The functionality of the MTTS is mind blowing!
I would have annoyed my parents nonstop for WEEKS to get this thing if it was the official set when I was a kid
Would give my arm to have the instructions to this on Rebrickable
Its on BrickVault's Store
@@Maddenhawk What a top guy 👍 Thanks. Thought this masterwork would be lost forever.
Honestly one of the coolest lego builds I've ever seen, if not the coolest
That is so cool! Jengus, such detail, and the machinery!
It's... Perfect.
It's the only one of its kind.
Gig ‘Em Caleb!
WOW! That MTT Droid Carrier build is amazing!
Maybe one day, Lego will make a UCS MTT. It could have a similar deploying mechanism.
Psalms 45:1 (KJV) My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
God Jesus created the earth
Dang, respect to the dedication for designing and building that!
Any one wanna talk about the creator that sacrificed himself for us to get saved from hell and GO to heaven only trough believe in HIM..
How cool!!
I love the scene in the first episode of SW where the droids are deployed, so your work is very exciting.
That is one of the most badass Lego builds I have ever seen
Outstanding piece!! Thank you for sharing

Astonishing, no other words for this!
Man what a phenomenal job done here. Bravo, sir. Bravo.
Never knew my day can be so easily made. Made my day
Holy shit I'm blown away there's real burning passion behind that lego build trying to give justice to one of the coolest machines in the Clone Wars and imo even Star Wars as a whole
