      Yeah the silly thing is I've been an active licensed Massage therapist for two years and even then didn't do enough self-care, as it goes, let alone these days. But people always loved what I did for their neck, facial & cranial nerves, and scalp. I give myself a neck rub sometimes, but today, I did the wall-sit on toes exercise and omg, the way my chest just started opening up and heaving... Whoa (have to do more as I tire out too quickly in the middle of the night lol😅, but it really helped) -- and then, there was lots lots of yawning and deep breathing. Had to put my hand on my chest with my heart beating so much (ice pack on chest is another way to calm the vagus nerve, too, btw). I had to do a few short ones and reset in between, for starters. Had I gone longer I am sure I'd have cried. Looks like I truly need it, especially after my recent loss of my companion cat 😢...not to mention decades of stored trauma. Thank goodness, I've done a lot of healing work already, shadow work, CBT, lots of reframing and reflection. It really is time for my body to release all of this junk. I'm sick of chronic pain and fatigue. Anyway, then, I did this - and yes it helped not only knowing those points already and using accupressure, but sitting with straight spine, looking straight ahead. And that also caused a bunch of extra yawns, deep breathing, and a good size burp I had no idea where it came from as I hadn't had anything with carbonation or had anything else indicating I had any air to release😅 (although I've been feeling anxious enough to feel a bit like a knot in my stomach from time to time the last 2 days, and that might have been it).
      Thanks again!! 🙏🏻 💜

My relative, Dr. David Simons, co-wrote the "Trigger Point Manual" and I learned several valuable skills for maintaining good health. Thank you for this incredible technique! Maybe NOW my body can truly rest and DIGEST correctly and my cortisol levels will lower and my recent weight gain of belly fat will disappear. You're just THE BEST!😁

    This actually does help you relax. The eye trick also does. Look straight ahead and then without moving your head move your eyes to the left as far as you can go with out closing them and wait and breathe until you start to yawn. Then move them to the other side and do the same thing. Repeat this a couple times and then recheck your neck movement and you should be able to move your head side to side so much better. Plus you will feel kinda sleepy because of the relaxing it creates. ❤

    Protip: Do this during a migraine on the LEFT SIDE ONLY. Lay down, FULLY relax, press that area hard...wait for pain to subside, then slowly place your arm into a comfortable position and try to lay still until you fall asleep.
    Doing it on the right may make your migraine worse, and though pressure on the left side may actually make the pain COMPLETELY DISAPPEAR, it WILL come right back if you start moving around, so it's very important to still treat yourself as though you have the migraine.

    • @cherylnicholson5643
      @cherylnicholson5643 25 วันที่ผ่านมา +11

      I've used this technique for migraines that develop with occipital tension. For me, the pain starts in the occipital, then becomes a migraine, sometimes so intense that I vomit.
      I've discovered if I lay down and do what this video describes in a very focused way, often holding pressure for quite a long time, I can make the tension and pain release. I also have to sleep after.
      I have not noticed what you say about the right side alone being ineffective, but haven't tested it.
      Grateful it helps these painfully intense migraines.

    • @UmatsuObossa
      @UmatsuObossa 25 วันที่ผ่านมา +12

      @cherylnicholson5643 Yes, that's how my migraines begin too. This is my go-to treatment since meds don't work for me. I've tested all kinds of different ways of doing it and even on the rare occasions where the migrain changes which side of my head it's on, pressing on the right side has only aggravated the migraine rather than help. But yes, I press very hard and for a prolonged amount of time until the pain is completely gone. I'll usually end up with a slight bruise, but it's much better than having a migraine

    It also works to hold your arms above your head. Hold your head straight and look to the left. You will feel like you're going to yawn. Look to the right without moving your head. Once you do this, your vagus nerve will reset.

    A God send today. My son suffered a concussion by hitting his tail bone hard on a tree limb causing spinal fluid to go crashing upwards and it rattled his brain. Sending electricity up his spine. He now is in a perpetual fight of flight modality and his OT helps him but she was out of office and cancelled our last appointment. This got him to calm down some. He’s also suffering from occipital nerve neuralgia. The body is fearfully and wonderfully made.

    Whenever you're deeply relaxed, set an anchor. = choose any small gesture or fingerposition you normally don't do. eg. Bring thumb and ring finger tips together, press your earlobe... And hold it for 60sec.+
    After setting the anchor you can use it whenever you might need to relax quickly. Works perfectly for me!
    Renew your anchor in any super relaxed situation from time to time...

    Omg I do this naturally. Well, body scans get you in touch with sore areas. Pressure points have allowed me to stay in a physical job. Semi supine Alexander technique also focuses on the neck being relaxed. Go over your whole body massaging it and find the points that hurt the most and these are the ones you need to put pressure on as long as u need too. You'll learn where your tension is. Shoulders, hips...

    The Universe is amazing! I suffered a neck injury in 2021 that caused c1 and c2 to go out of alignment as ligaments etc were pulled. I have seen so many Healers even an Atlas Chiropractor as my atlas kept going out of alignment causing multiple neurological challenges which also increased the already existing anxiety. If I forget to stretch before doing any heavy lifting (nature of my job), it goes back out. I started manually adjusting my atlas directly via the atlas (to save money) and this can be tricky. My atlas has been moving in and out of alignment for 2 days. I woke up this morning and it was out again. This video popped up and I am beyond grateful as it worked and is so much safer and more effective than the way I was adjusting it. I am otw to acupuncture but this got me out of pain and also alleviated my anxiety as it is a new acupuncturist and I almost cancelled. I cannot thank you enough. Abundant Blessings✨😇✨

    Oh, my word!!! I'm nearly 70yo and have scoliosis, which was only discovered at age 60...it explained a lot. As I've aged, my neck issues have gotten worse and worse. I suffer with severe pain every day.
    Your advice here gave me such relief that it brought tears to my eyes. I've been searching for ways to reset my vagus and trigeminal nerves. There are so many more symptoms that arise when these nerves are impinged, inflammed, or simply out of sorts.
    This technique also alleviated some near debilitating intestinal cramping I've been contending with for several days. As a side note, I was plagued with unrelenting hiccup fits for most of my life. My mother told me that I hiccuped in her womb; as did my daughter during pregnancy. This is directly related to the vagus nerve.
    Thank you for sharing this extremely helpful tip. You put a smile on an old lady's face.

    This is crazy .. there was an insane amount of difference for me. I did it thinking that it wasn't something I needed but will give an effort to and .... it feels so good.

    A big thank you is still not enough. after a stressful week i came across your video. i just did the movements after my shower and felt an immediate improvement. It was hard to hold my forearm up for 30 seconds, (yes, I'm horribly sedentary) but I held on and after the typical burning from the unusual effort, I felt incredibly better. thank you thank you thank you very much
