@@amiecritesFlowsWithLove im just a rando on the internet, so I don’t know what im talking about lol. However, i started acupuncture for both physical and mental issues. when the acupuncturist hits my heart area, which is for emotions, i tend to sob for about a minute and then calm down, and sometimes i feel happy afterward. This last time i felt so sad during that minute it, but not any particular reason. It just felt like sadness that needed to he processed and let go.
Maybe you are releasing stored trauma with that one movement? If it doesnt hurt but you need to groan, maybe that’s some general emotional pain you are processing and releasing?

Probably another reason the controllers are constantly spraying the sky so that its almost 80-90% of the week ugly.
Rare is the day we have blue skies, let alone blue skies with clouds.

WOW!!! I didn't know what to expect when performing this exercise, most people have commented they cry or have better motion in the neck, not me my experience was completely different. I have had a tremendous amount of stress for decades in combination with covid related damage. When I started the exercise looking to the right it was hard for me to focus my eyesight on a given point, I kept going holding my eyes as far as they would go. About 5-10 seconds in a huge wave of panic came over me, rapid heartbeat, uneasiness, alarms going off, i kept going. I had no swallow or yawn halfway through. When my eyes came back to center it felt like my entire chest cavity opened up for my first deep breathe in decades, it was incredible. I looked to the left for 30 seconds, my legs started to get warm and tingly. My heart was beating so quickly and my breathing was so rapid i thought to myself OMG I'm going to have to go to the emergency room. I sat up, was very dizzy a little discombobulated. It felt like i was walking for the fist time, very strange feeling like my legs didn't know what to do. I sat on the bed and checked my pules which remained over 130 BPM for about 15 minute's, i could breathe so easily and felt so calm. About 3 minutes in i had a strong urge to go to the bathroom, most amazing bowel movement of my life. It took about 2 hours to calm down and for the body to get settled. I went to the beach the next morning and i never felt more relaxed, stress free and a calmness that is indescribable. This has helped me so much I'm at a loss for words, i must have had so much trauma built up it exploded.... The second time i did the exercise about a week later, i threw up a few minutes later. What i find interesting is most of my experience is GI related, maybe its from my appendicitis trauma. Another interesting point, i went to see an energy healer a couple months prior. She stated, huh that's interesting your brain and GI tract are not communicating at all..... I truly believe this exercise has helped them reconnect, thank you!!!

I was very discouraged when I first began this practice because I could not hold the gaze for 30 seconds. In fact, it was such a powerful exercise for me, I became nauseous and dizzy after my first attempt with just 15 seconds on each side. However, I kept at it with my small 15 second gazes and tried to reassure myself that something was better than nothing. It was. Keep at it no matter how many seconds you can hold. So far anyone I've seen presenting this has neglected to emphasize the exact position on the back of the head that gives you the greatest result and feedback. In Stanley Rosenberg's further description of this exercise he notes that the eye muscles doing the movement are connected at the BASE of the skull. So by making sure your first fingers or thumbs feel just beneath the curve of the occipital bone just above the connection to the neck you can notice very subtle changes in the muscular tension. To find the optimal point for your body with your hands low on your skull behind your head slowly nod chin to chest In the west we call this a nod YES. (some other cultures use this motion differently!) Try it with your hands both ways and see what you notice. It's all about YOU and learning to know how your body and heart FEEL. Thank you Sukie, your video is very helpful. Can't wait to see more of your channel!

Hey love, I know your struggle 😘. I have been depressed once (2 years ago) but it was really bad. Taking vitamin D and omega 3 every day can help. Its good for your serotonine levels. Writing down the best moments of your day in a journal at the end of the day also really really helped me to feel more positive and appreciate the moments that made me smile that day. Its also great for when youre having a really bad moment. Just reading that journal reminds you there is beauty out there waiting for you 😘. Surrounding yourself with people that genuinly care for you and only watch and read things that make you feel you good. Be very kind to yourself.. think/speak to yourself in a way you would talk to someone you love. You deserve that 🤗. Go out into nature. Breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the stars and the moon..I know it sounds corny but it makes a world of a difference. Move your body..yoga, running..any type of movement that you love can help you produce endorfines and connect you to your body. It brings you into the present moment and helps you let go of overthinking. I don't know if you are taking medication but it is a possibility and it can certainly help. I prefer to not take anything chemical if I don't have to but it really helped me back then. Remember that nothing lasts forever.. that is also true for this depression you are going through. You will be happy again even if that is something that feels out of reach now 😘. If I can do it, you can do it🤗🤗🤗. Trust in your own intuition as well .. it tells you what you can do/change to feel better. Much love, Cindy

That’s great. Just a note: people often go their whole lives with undiagnosed or misdiagnosed neck tightness specifically on the right side. IF this is a recurring/ongoing issue for you, look up the “Right TMCC Pattern” and seek out a Postural Restoration physical therapist. The issue is resultant of our naturally asymmetrical physiology and subsequent breathing patterns.
The vagus reset she outlines is a great way to get neutral and an awesome tool for combating tightness. The stuff I mentioned above is what you’d wanna look into if you found yourself having to vagus reset more often than is practical and you continued falling back into that right neck tightness.

Thank you so much. I never heard of the Vagus nerve until I started doing guided meditations and a vagus nerve reset popped up and I researched it. I wish doctors would have figured out my problem. I just had a physical Monday and my doctor asked if I had the hoarseness in my voice evaluated and I never have, but that is another symptom of vagus nerve damage. I also don't feel hungry like I should and I have had at least 5 unexplained seizures and fainting spells in my lifetime. It does trace back to severe trauma I have lived through. I meditate several times a day to keep myself in good spirits, but it doesn't take much to trigger my anxiety so that's why I do them so often. I was so happy when I discovered Yoga Nidra last year. All the different meditations and chakra balancing has helped me so much. I will bounce right back after a meditation or 2 (sometimes I need more than one guided meditation or body scan to release my anxiety.) I subscribe to a lot of mindfulness channels. Thanks again!

First I tried 30 seconds on each side and didn't experience anything. I tried it again for about 40 seconds and still nothing. So I tried a third time, 60 seconds on each side. Then my breathing suddenly became very deep and a bit faster. I could feel energy moving through my body, entering my feet. As I sat up I moved my jaw (I have had some clicking from my jaw on the right side) and both sides of my jaw sounded *sqwishhh* in my ears and the clicking in my jaw was gone which I've had for maybe 6 months. It's like something losened up on the right side and made it balance on both sides. This is great. I will keep doing it. I think it may be a great tool to use after meditation as it can bring up energy blockages to the surface in the process of releasing them. Thank you for this video!

The first time it was a struggle to turn eyes to the left. I didn't feel enormous peace afterwards, but the neck was definitely more relaxed and I could turn my head with ease. Later I tried this before going to bed. I have ADHD and during bedtime my head is quite often very busy with all sorts of thoughts. I did the exercise in a pretty dark bedroom and still I felt quite peaceful and relaxed afterwards and there was little or no traffic in my head. I also did this once sitting in a car. It was a situation where I was getting nervous about time while waiting for my husband as he went shopping. I leaned back with my head to keep it steady and turned my eyes both ways. Afterwards, I felt very relaxed, the nervousness had disappeared and I felt like I could take a nap (which I never do!). My husband also benefitted from this, as I was not irritated when he got back to the car 😀

Im a massage therapist and I will definitely be doing this with my clients. I just did it on myself and I had greater ROM with less pain on my left side after only 30 seconds on each side! Also going to have to buy that book, thank you!

I'm blown away at the feeling after, I feel like my vision is now focused (I have bad tics due to tourettes and adhd and I could move my head so much more. I feel like I degressed to my health when I was a few years younger and not riddled with stress

It really worked! I felt my heart literally bounce twice, which I feel is a strong physical reaction, a release of an emotional blocking. Thank you very much!

Of all the videos I've watch on this subject, yours are my favorite. The exercises are calming but so is your voice and the way you explain everything. 7 months ago I lost my soulmate and best friend, my wife, and your videos helped me so much in dealing with the grief and hearache. Lately I've needed them again, and I want to thank you so much for helping me get through some very hard times. Cheers!

Dude. The tension in my body just relaxed.... Wow that felt so good I could cry. I started to feel a bit of panic when I did it. Then after doing the left side and getting about to the 30 second mark I felt relief and my body physically relaxed a bit. Thank you so very much ma'am.

Worked like MAGIC in 30 seconds flat. My first time doing this, and it released 80% of my tension. Turning my neck to the left was very painful. And i cried after completing the exercise. Also, after pointing the eyes in both directions, i felt like swallowing and a slightly deep breath too. Thanks a million!

Omg, did it sitting up and felt the tension release. This was awesome! Thank you so much.
As a former cancer patient, I learned about this. If I get up too fast I faint. I am continuing to learn just how important vagus nerve Heath is for body mind and spirit.

Thank you. You're literally a life saver. I've been searching for years for this type of therapy in person, I've gone to countless therapist and counselors. Lately I've been denied care due to insurance, no availability of counselors or therapists. I'm so glad I found you today🤗

This simple exercise was amazing. Before you even mentioned breath, I noticed that that took a deeper breath than I think I have in years. I’m going to keep doing this every day. I felt immediately less tense. Thank you!

Thanks so much for these vids Sukie, I've been a chronic anxiety sufferer since I can remember, sometimes it has gotten so bad it feels like I'm dying. I've had everything from herbal remedies to valium. These exercises work better than anything I've ever tried. Thank you so much

I'm watching this in my van, so I decided to just smoosh the back of my head into the headrest and try to do the exercise sitting right here. When looking to each side (eyes only, head still), I started to feel anxiety rush in (huge problem of mine).
It was easily manageable, so I sat with the feeling and breathed deeply through the exercise. Now I feel slightly more energy and clarity. Slight, but noticeable.
I think I'll totally be adding polyvagal reset techniques to my self-improvement/recovery journey. 👍

I've realised that I don't cry when blocks are released, I laugh or at least smile. So it's interesting to read that others cried, I was smiling very big after doing this and I still am 10 minutes later. Nothing happened on my right side but 2 seconds into the left I swallowed. The left is where everything goes haywire in my system and my neck has been jammed up on that side despite all kinds of efforts on my own as well as monthly adjustments. I definitely feel reset. Thank you!!

It’s wonderful , felt the need to swallow and catch my breath - it’s an amazing relief of pain - I tore both shoulders in Iraq and Afghanistan and both knees meniscus - always in a lot of pain . The relief from this vagus nerve rest is a miracle in God’s way of giving us self healing capability . Thanks so much for sharing this gift with us .

This was amazing…I just recently was exposed to the Vagus Nerve and since I live in trauma I thought I’d give it a try. After doing the exercise with you my neck side to side is so much more flexible, I can’t stop yawning, and I immediately felt the need to swallow. Thank you for this video and I look forward to seeing more past and hopefully present if your still posting!!!xoxoxo

I just tried this and am amazed! Usually when I turn my head from side to side my neck makes all kinds of crackling noises. After doing the eye thing, I turned my head from side to side and there was no crackling at all. I also let out this massive sigh about halfway through looking to the left. Never heard of Vagus Nerve before. Glad my curiosity about it got the best of me today. Thanks.

@@DC-ik6el I used to have to see a chiropractor regularly for back and neck pain, and I haven’t had any for a while now because this exercise aligns the neck bones. And overall it’s calmed my nervous system down, got me out of the chronic key-up fight or flight mode kind of feeling.

After nearly 100 seconds on each side , I find a smile is probably the easiest thing to do right now. It's floating in extremely natural . Honestly before watching this I was not in a very great state . I feel locked into something really nice right now .

When I looked to the right it showed more effects: I yawned, my eyes became very tired, even hurt and they started to tear. I‘m going to try it more often and hope it will have more positive effects but I already have physical problems (breathing, digestion) due to trauma for more than two years, so I think this will take some time. Thank you for your explanation and the excercise!
