He's great, if you like Roland's content you'll most likely enjoy Richard Gene the fishing machine, (th-cam.com/users/RichardGeneTheFishingMachine) imo. His videos are extremely entertaining 😂. I think Richard fits into the group of great fisherman who can still out fish 98% of the population.
I love watching him fish. He has probably forgotten more about bass fishing than all of us in these comments know about bass fishing. A true legend and a true master.
I FULLY agree with you! Watching him has made me a far better bass angler i ever would have been without his advice. The senko/yum dinger has become my favourite lure. His advice work anywhere in the world, even here in South Africa.
A absolute legend. I remember being 9 years old and sitting cross legged in front of a big floor model tv Saturday mornings ESPN to watch him catch big bass. I'm 38 now and he's still at it.
I remember the same thing! I loved ESPN outdoors. I loved watching the guys catch pike and muskies. I’m from the south and we didn’t have those fish to catch, only bass, catfish and bluegill. I was always fascinated with bass fishing despite living right on the ocean in Va. Beach with outer banks only half hour away. My old man was a hard core salt guy. Sure we caught lots of huge striper and fluke and then off shore we’d catch tons and tons of mahi, by my heart was always fishing in the swamps and ponds for bass. Edit to add: I was born in ‘83. We were lucky to be born at the time we did.
On the bank or in a boat, Mr. Martin you are the the GOAT of bass fishing in my opinion. I catch more bass from the bank using the senko and only the senko because I watched your videos. Thanks a million.
I am 72 years old and it is nice to have someone teach you something about fishing. I have wet a hook all my life but never really knew what I was doing right or wrong. Mr. R
2years ago I got my first Senko bass thanks to Roland and his tips. Now days I like trying other lures but if I think I’m getting skunk for the day I always turn back to Senko. It never fails even if is just a tiny one a fish is a fish lol
Roland is incredible. 81? Ha ha dude out fishes most people a lot younger. He spends so much time doing the things he loves fishing, family and work. He has been a class for over 40yrs that I have been fishing
How many fish have you caught in your life and you still get so excited when you reel the next one in. I watched you on TV for years and it's great to find you again on TH-cam.
Mr. Martin, I ALWAYS learn from your how-to videos. Thank you so much! Today you taught me that I have all the right gear to go hook 'em and the best way to hooksett 'em. It doesn't get any better than that! If someone asks me, "Who taught you how to do that? That really works!" I'm going to proudly say, "Roland Martin did!" 👍 Yes, true enought 😊🥰.
I've never seen anyone bury the barb of the hook slightly under the worm. I've always seen the barb put thru the bottom of the worm then back up and bury the barb into the top of the worm. His way seemed like such an easy method just plant of the barb into the bottom no need to go up and thru. The worm lays super flat where as the other method you do have to play with it a little. Hope I made sense, thanks Mr. Martin always watch you when I see you. You are the KING of bass fishing!
I saw another youtuber do the way this guy does it . I like this way better. the hook comes out of the worm at the strike. When you barely bury it the old way it comes out to easy I think.
Hi Roland, I decided to try this senko rig today. Found some shallow areas just like you did and used your same technique. Caught a nice 2.5 pounder! Thank you for your videos.
Growing up in CA I used to watch Roland Martin on T.V. At that time I was a regular Saltwater fish man and never perfected the art of freshwater fishing. March of 2020 my family and I moved to MI and I began working on my freshwater game. Roland Martin videos on TH-cam have really given me insight. I am now 54 and have my 15 year old son hooked as well. Catching 2-3 lb Bass from shore pretty regular now. Thank you Roland for sharing your insight. Hoping to learn alot more from you!
I’ll tell you what, a three pound bass really puts up a good fight. I recently found a creek that is loaded with small mouth. Now there is a fun fish to catch.
Just learning bass fishing, using a bait caster and bank fishing ponds in central FL after living in New England. Your videos are the most helpful, educational, entertaining and all around fun on TH-cam. Thank you!!!!
Thank you Mr. Martin for your entertaining and helpful videos 👍😎. I really enjoy your style of things and valuable tips gathered over many years of fishing. I hope you continue to post videos for years to come.
I like how you get them unhooked and back in the water - none of that draggin em all over the bank, waiving em in front of the camera for mug shots...its in and out. Thanks Roland

Sir you are truly senko master.. keep going fishing sir enjoy your content very much ..you not say much but you technique it's golden you make it look so easy
Love this post. Thank you. My very first bass was caught on a plain purple plastic worm with a light slip sinker. Didn't have scales to weight it but it probably went about 4LBS. It was in a farm pond near my home. Oh, I grew up watching Roland Martin and Bill Dance. Love these guys.
It fun to watch your videos. No matter what size of the fish your excitement is always like it’s the first time. Thank you for sharing your love of fishing with us all. God bless and stay safe
Good to see you fishing in any conditions. Great capture filming a large fish along with the smaller one. It took me awhile to feel a bass pecking on the lure. Glad to see you enjoy catching a one pound bass or a ten pound bass. Always fun to catch a Big O.

Roland man Sweet!! From all your videos i watch that Senko-s are just awesome!.... gonna get me some of em... and watching your melt and remold the broken ones is just how to do it.. thanks < J
Anything that is green pumpkin works great. I personal love senkos but lately crank baits have been working better for some reason. The shiner crank baits, bass can’t stand them !
