Stone Coat Countertop Quick Coat Epoxy
This is the epoxy typically used to seal the edges of the boards before pouring the river as well as to fill holes and voids. amzn.to/37dCqsG
Stone Coat Countertop Super Cast Epoxy
Super Cast Epoxy (designed to be poured over 3/4" and up to 2" in a single pour) used on the river. amzn.to/3pgtGJN
    Stone Coat Countertop Epoxy
This is the epoxy used to do seal coats and the final flood coat. It is very durable, as well as heat and yellowing resistant. amzn.to/481NVAr
    Stone Coat Countertop Epoxy Cleaner
This is an epoxy cleaner which I use before delivering any epoxy product to a client. It also contains an epoxy polish to help maintain your finish. amzn.to/3iHRYd6
    Color Powder Additive
Metallic powder additive used with the super cast epoxy. amzn.to/3oec7sy
    Mixing Cups
When using a specific ratio epoxy, measuring your amounts is extremely important. Here is the brand of mixing cup I trust and has never let me down amzn.to/3iGUHU0
    Diablo Sanding Discs
I use Diablo 5" random orbital sanding discs (I use different grits, working my way up to 220 - there is no need to go beyond 220 grit when using epoxy) amzn.to/2MizlAv
    Dewalt Orbital Sander
With the exception of a little hand sanding, I use this Dewalt Random Orbital Sander amzn.to/3iJVxzx
    Metal Sanding Discs
These are the metal sanding disks I use on my 4 1/2 grinder with the grinder conversion attachment. I use 50 grit. amzn.to/3jTTB89
    Angle Grinder Sanding Disc Attachment
To remove router lines, excess epoxy, and/or hardened epoxy drips, I use this conversion grinder attachment on my 4 1/2 grinder and attach low grit metal sanding disks. amzn.to/3pueJ5Y
    Self-Igniting Torch
This is the self-igniting propane torch I prefer to pop air bubbles. amzn.to/3SNn6cf
    Casting Mold Tape
This is an example of house wrap tape I use to line my molds with before using casting epoxy…it helps ensure a clean release. amzn.to/3CHN6jW
    Total Boat Epoxy Deep Pour
This is another brand of epoxy I have used and trust for pouring epoxy rivers. amzn.to/3lrqWtI
    CA Glue
This is the CA glue I use to fill holes and small voids that when combined with the accelerator is ready to sand in seconds. amzn.to/3j836AM
    CA Glue Accelerator
This is the accelerator that you spray on the CA glue to make the product hard within seconds. The CA glue and accelerator must be used in combination. amzn.to/37k7yGN
    Rubio Monocoat
This finish is easier to apply than epoxy, but a little more difficult that just plain oil. It has be buffed in, but creates a very durable, longer lasting finish. amzn.to/3xj86rh
    Cutting Board Oil
This is a brand of food-safe butcher block oil (and wax) that I often use on charcuterie boards. amzn.to/3ykkFUm
Walrus Oil - Cutting Board Oil
This is another brand of food safe cutting board oil I use on projects. amzn.to/3RTohG8
    Planing Router Bit
Router bit used for planing slabs. amzn.to/3sSV2Yv
    Chop Brush
Quality brush used to chop out the epoxy flood coat amzn.to/39cfNGM or if you are planning on doing a couple epoxy projects or working with bark on, I suggest this bulk pack of 12. amzn.to/3qMgegR
    Burn in Wax Stick
Burn in wax sticks used to fill stubborn pinholes between seal coats of epoxy amzn.to/3a1GQny and amzn.to/3c6f7Vp
    Dewalt Router
I use this 2-1/4 hp Dewalt Router with a fixed base for planing slabs - this link is to kit I bought (it includes the same router with the fixed base and an additional plunging base - which has many applications) amzn.to/36bMjqy
    Wood Pick
Here is a set of automotive picks that I use on wood projects to help open cracks and remove bar inclusions.
    amzn.to/3TnmRov
    Dewalt Drill and Driver Combo
This is the drill and driver combo I bought and use. amzn.to/3yqh2hJ

Glad you enjoyed the video! Exothermic is probably the best word to use in this situation, but thermogenic just refers to producing heat…it doesn’t just refer to the body. Thanks for watching!

Could you show us a little about the router jig and bit you were using to flatten the board before you sent it thru the planer?

I am just wondering could you have gone over the rubio monocoat with epoxy seal coats and then a flood coat?

You can, I would just be a bit worried about the bond of epoxy to Rubio down the road. I’ve found epoxy straight to wood makes the best bond. Thanks for watching!

Hey! great video! I got a question. When you color the epoxy will it still suffer from yellowing? Or will it be near invisible?

    • @northernridgedesigns
      @northernridgedesigns  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thank you! I use epoxy that is very resistant to yellowing (not all epoxies are created equal), but I believe the color will help prevent yellowing from being noticed over time…definitely much more so than let’s say clear epoxy. Thanks for watching!

@@northernridgedesigns how many kg/liters of epoxy did you use for this table?

    • @northernridgedesigns
      @northernridgedesigns  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Martin-pk9sm I believe we used right around 3.25 gallons…so around 12.3 liters.

How much do these typically go for?

    • @northernridgedesigns
      @northernridgedesigns  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

The price varies based on size, wood type, amount of epoxy used, etc. Quality epoxy is quite expensive and so are large wood slabs. A top similar to this would be $1,500 plus…
