easily one of the best GDBR adventures online. honest and pure with a good mix of footage. AND NO PLAYLIST playing all the way thru. it was so nice hearing the tires on the dirt, giving me a better idea of the terrain. i hope to be doing this in 7 years. i applaud you both for your efforts
another great video of the Great Divide route .. shows every rock rut cloud and fallen tree ... superb coverage .. this should be mandatory for anyone doing this route or a similar route.....
You guys are from the NW, so weather in the Rockies is very different. What you thought is weird weather is actually typical in the Rockies. Like we say, you don't like the weather, wait five minutes...
YAY PART 4. So cool to see you guys on the map and then I realized that your shot is so extra smooth!!! LOVE IT! All is good until, OMG HAIL STORM!?!?!?! All of a sudden it's dry?? Yeah! So weird. Love the really cool graphics! I am so proud of you guys for doing this. I can't believe you guys did about 43 MILES! That's insane. How are you guys doing your shower!?!? OOO Christ the Redeemer! Didn't know that there was one in Butte Montana!?!? NVM It's MARy! HAHA. Why did you have to get your bike fixed!??! Did you crash!?!? Can't wait for more of this adventure
exploreaswego thank you! We had several little crashes but I don’t think that is what caused the bike issues. New bikes just have to be worn in a bit we were told. Also our go pro holder on the bike stem bent the back brake wire 🙈
I really appreciate the map. I live in Montana. Soon you will be in my back. I'm interested to see where you enter Idaho. I ride mtb on the cdt near lost trai pass. Awesome single track in that area. Good luck on your journey!
Richard Parent aww thank you! I’m glad you like the maps! Alex has a lot of fun putting those together! We crossed the Idaho border on red rock pass. There’s a sign there that shows the border which was nice seeing our first state crossing! You’re lucky to live in such a beautiful place! Thank you for commenting :)
this is cool, i lived in butte when i was a kid ,just for a year or two before moving to spokane, but now i live back in texas, i want to ride the gdmbr from the border of canada to missoula or helena, how long do you think that would take?, if i rode between 20 and 50 miles a day.
ptotheatsign aww thank you so much! We used Salsa Fargo bikes. They worked pretty good. My (Liz’s) had a little issues on and off, but we were able to get it fixed. We went tubeless and didn’t have a single flat :)
"Bi-polar weather" LOL! The trail past the fireworks and down into Butte, is that the same route that everyone uses for the Divide? Luv the vids, they really show how you guys feel from one moment to the next, plus we see a good part of the ride as well :-) Keep your spirits up!
Thanks! We try our best to show the highs and the lows. I think the trail down into Butte is part of the official route at least this year. I think they make adjustments to the route annually.
Aww thank you! We were not doing the race. We were way to slow for that 😂With this being our first ever bike tour and the lack of training we were just trying to get to our 1,000 miles of the great divide goal 😊
M Hernandez thank you! Yeah I think the combination of poor weather and being underprepared/trained definitely had us struggling the first 12 days or so 😂
All I can say,hilarious!!
😀

@@PursuingMountains OOPS!
Chapeau
Stephen Williams thank you! ☺️
I don't know how you did this trail with no shocks on the front ends of your bikes.
Sometimes it felt like we needed them, but more often than not we didn’t. Running low tire pressure tubeless helps a bit

Just found your channel. Very well shot and personable videos. What bikes did you pick for this tour? Thanks.

I was kind of hoping for snow after the last "a few moments later" :P
J G 😂😂😂 that would have been perfect!
Pursuing Mountains yes you guys would have enjoyed it a lot. It would have been the best day ever!
J G 😂😂😂
Were you taking part in the race or just following the trail/route . .great vids btw 😊

One day.
You should! 🙌🏼
That’s the mountains for you.
As Anatoli Bukver once said:
“ You don’t control the mountains, the mountains control you.”
eddog6666 so true!
What time of year did you do this ?
This video was from early July.
Haha...loving this pedalfest!!! Your struggles though!!! Yikes
M Hernandez thank you! Yeah I think the combination of poor weather and being underprepared/trained definitely had us struggling the first 12 days or so 😂
They don't call it Big Sky Country for nothing.
👍
OMG this section, air lift me out please! You two are so tough and did a great job filming! We aren’t so brave! Www.Instagram/biketrailsandteardrops
Haha thank you! Had no idea how much wind makes a difference 😂
