- This video is a run through a day working with sheep to get the essential jobs done before lambing starts with a run through some of the ways I make it as simple as possible.
We head for home with a big move to get the sheep a little closer to home. Some more slurry application features at the tail-end...

Some people bring their dogs for a walk through the fields but u bring 140 sheep for a walk . Keep up the good work . Very knowledgeable video .

Sheep in great order, can't beat winter grazing fresh fields. Stanleys would be delighted with how fast the race is set up. Have the squeeze type mobile race from Stanleys makes it easier only standing in one spot injecting and dosing and they stay flowing through.
It would definitely save the legs.. How do find the squeeze for smaller lambs for the first and second dose?
@@sheepschool365 bit more awkward for small lambs but their newer model helps.Also helps that it's 4-5 inches higher so less bending

You're importing slurry. Are there no dairy or pig farms in Cavan you could get slurry from and reduce that carbón footprint? Just curious.
Importing slurry simply means taking it from another farmer close by.

Got it from Midland Veterinary along with delivery of all the fluke doses. Think it's an Eprinex one..

Is that a Premier Gates race? How do you find it?
It appears to be an identical race. My one is made by SES Stanley Equipment in Co Laois, Ireland. Find it an excellent race and easy to use. Probably a little heavier than the Aluminium ones but not a major problem..
I was going to ask that too! I watched after moving my ewes through a race and shedding gate. Spent the whole afternoon thinking if only I could work the gate from the start of the race.
What breeds are those sheep?

When you're attracting the sheep to follow you, it sounds like you're saying, "Come on" without pronouncing the consonants. Why use just the melody of the words without the actual words?
Farmers say funny things when calling their sheep. I heard some says "Shiddy Shiddy" and "Lamb lamb lamb"....
