BUSINESS INQUIRY⬇️

I know this was a lot of work, but you make it look easy. It's great to have family that helps out. The bugs are a nuisance. Jim, you look mighty fine in that suit. Have a great week.
Thank you Mrs. Jill! We hope that you and Mr. Steve have a great week too!
Wow, that ad was really fun to watch!
Out of curiosity, I would love to see a wedding photo, sometime.
Thank you! Sounds like a great idea😊
Jim looks like a magazine model in his suit!! 🎉🎉
Thank you!
Time to switch to camo short shorts, Jim! I bet your tan lines are hilarious! 😅
Glad ya'll were able to get that container moved without any casualties! 🤗 Super excited for the next step! Hugs! 💞
He scrubs up real danged nice!
Sure does!😍
This was another great episode with a lot of variety.
I'm still looking forward to how you will stack the last container.
You and me both!
That was my favourite TH-cam advert ever... Jim in a suit was *not* something I had on my bingo card for today!
Thank you thank you!!! 🥰
I'd be concerned about tornados too with hurricanes. Lots of embedded tornados and what not. Love the proactiveness!
Yes!!
Love the Ad! Sharp dressed man!
Appreciate it!
Using 7018 Rod 1/8" run at 160 -165 amps, run weld up not down in verticals. I was a union ironworker structural welder for years, our welds needed to handle vibration loading. Fun watching you two folks life and work. Enjoying your fun and casual banter.
Great video. I liked your comments on the hurricanes. Yes the Nats are bad. And as a hurricane Rita survivor, yes, we rode it out in the direct path of the storm. Long story. I will never ride out the storm in the direct path, unless I have a extremely well fortified storm shelter. Rita caused us to lived in a FEMA trailer for 2 1/2 years while I rebuilt our home in town. We left for Laura and Delta and they changed our landscape and house here in the country. And yes, a grinder in paint makes a welder you ain’t.. all that matters is it did work. Love what y’all doing kind of got the same situation over here, except mine are 2ea 24’ aluminum foot aluminum truck boxes I bought about 10 years ago. I built the same contraption to move mine, great minds think a like. Great job, more crazy weather coming.
Thank you! Yes….. Rita was devastating to our location! Storms like those change everything!
Holy crap Jim cleans up something fierce, don't he? He just raised the bar for everyone.
Right!🤤😍
Sorry I'm a day or two behind on my TH-cam viewing.
As always another awesome video
Jim looked sharp in the suit promo.
Now if they just came in a camouflage design with dress Crocs 😊
Jim
I believed you the first time about the broken weld on the ultimate hootis . But I guess some people think you should endure more robbing about it
I'm on your side. 😊
It's nice to have a brother that has your back and a big skid steer 😊
Glad you were able to get the second container moved.
Great idea Lydia on your solution about the stuff in the container.
Just close the door😊
I heard the same thing about the hurricanes.
Praying that you're able to get the containers finished in time and that you're not badly affected by any this year.
See you on the next video
The man cleans up pretty well! lol
You got that right!❤️
I’m not saying that Jim didn’t look quite dapper in those suits, however, had they been in camouflage with matching Crocks… perfection! It appeared from a distance, that Hooti failed to live up to that move again ! Maybe Jim should allow you to try a hand on the next weld, just to prove it wasn’t his mistake! Wink wink! Always ready for some Cajun fun!
Remember when one wants a good strong weld root fill and cap is the rule to remember.
I love your goats, they’re cool Lydia!
Thank you! 😊
OMW!!!! Jim you clean up real nice. Thank you for my rapid Heart beat. My CARDIO DR. told me to stay calm and don't get excited well, just shot that outta the water. You and Lydia would be excellent Models. You 2 are beautiful, and baby girl she just tugs on this grandmas heart strings. I hope there's gonna be more modeling from the family and more laughter. I just love your team work.💖💖💖💖💖💖
Couldn’t have said it better myself!🥰🤪
Thank you so much!!

Since the Axles need to be, either a lot shorter which is not possible in your application, or a lot thicker, to be stronger...
I think the geometric solution is:
- Add I-Beam or a T-Beam under the two axels or replace the two axels with I-beams/T-beams, your choice.
However, if you have a round Solid Axel, that would probably the best structure.
The Hollow Axels have proved to be the weak part in your Excellent Hootis.
When the Container's Weight was concentrated on the center of each Axel, it wouldn't handle load. Add to that the F/B Movement of the whole system as well the shaking and any sudden drops from the uneven ground.
But once the whole thing is on the smooth concrete Pad, that Hootis is strong enough to handle the task
- The Wheels handled the task just fine
- The attachment between the Wheels and the Axel did too
- Add to that the L-shape Bars next to the wheels.
* It's only the center of the axels that's weaker than needs to be.
All great points!
Wohooo!! That's two containers set now. It'll get there, just takes time. Awesome song choice while you were moving the container. LOL Thanks for taking us along on your journey guys.
Thank you Sam!! We hope you’re doing good! Thank you for always watching and supporting!
Loook at you!! Wow- you know how to model too!!! You clean up good!! 😄
😊 thank you
Very sharp dressed man! Great job getting the second container moved to the slab.
Great job!
Dang - Jim scrubs up pretty nice! Speaking of Jim a.k.a "the broken welder", remember you can be right or you can be happy. Ha!
Right there with you on the hurricane plans for hunkering down. We too have built for it. Hurricanes give us plenty of warning. Last weeks tornado's rattled quite a few, BUT was a good test to check folks preparedness levels. Can't wait for your shelter to go up. I would say I'll stop checking on ya'll afterward, but that probably won't stop :) Ya'll rock and love what you're doing.
The broken welder!😂 hahahaha!
Please never stop checking! We love it! We think about y’all when the weather hits too!❤️❤️
smiling big for you guys...that ending made chills go over me.THANK YOU FATHER.
Thank you!!❤️
I hate gnats! Great job repairing the Ultimate Hootis. I love that tractor! 😁 I hope you get the Workshop done, and have a safe place to stay at home. Praying you have a safe Hurricane season.
They are terrible right now Charles! Thank you so much for always watching and leaving nice, thoughtful comments!
That's great! Love how you guys do things, teamwork at its finest!
Question about hurricanes, how will these containers not be lifted up? If a hurricane can destroy a house, how would a container be safer? (California native here) truly curious. Thx, love your videos!
We have pipe concreted deep in the ground through the slab. The containers are welded in place to these pipes on all four corners.
It’s the magnetized drill stem , always put a pass with a 6010 or 6011 and then a 7018! Still no guarantee that it’s going to hold! Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don’t! Jim, don’t feel bad brother, it happens! Lydia, you did a good job girl and you deserve to give him a little grief! lol 😂 Hopefully not too much, Jim! lol 🤣😂🤣 Yeah Lydia, just be careful! Those cutoff wheels do fly apart and I’ve had them throw a piece into my leather glove! Yall got this, guys! 👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Jim, you cleaned up like a rockstar ! Great video guys, glad you’re having a break in the weather to get a good start on your build!!
Thanks 👍
If you drill some holes through the axle pipe and the sleeves run some grade 8 bolts through the pipe and sleeves. Tack weld the bolt head and the nut in place. You’ll be good to go
I usually skip over ads but the suit thing was hilarious! 😁
Glad you liked it! Love to hear this!!
I am really freaked out by snakes. Curious if you did find any under there. I would never be able to live there. We have rattlers here but you don’t see em much.
As a safety professional, I think you’re doing it the right way. Your families safety is more important than a kitchen any day. I am personally loving this shop build and watching it closely as I might build me one next year. I already have one container.
Luckily we did not this time! Gus actually finds and ☠️ them. Some people may think it’s harsh, but with how many posionous snakes we have and having a little one around it’s not worth the risk. He killed around 20 posionous last year all around the homestead.
Thank you so much! We really appreciate it! That’s so awesome!! Keep us updated!
FYI, stress cracks can be stopped by drill the end that should stop the run then finish weld
Thank you for the tip!
Lookin good Jimbo. Ready for your album cover!
🎸🎸🎸
You know Lydia, you better watch out with that stud on the loose 😂😂!! Lydia, you are right. Louisiana storms are nothing like other places!! Louisiana storms pack a punch 👊!! But as always friends we love y'all and I will see you next week friends ❤ and stay safe in this heat 🥵! 🙏🙏🙏🙏
They sure do!! Y’all stay safe as the storms move y’all’s way!
@CajunCountryLivin yeah it's been bad here, but everything is good 👍🏻
Another quality job. Hey, look, I live down here in Florida so I know how the heat is that you're dealing with. Just a suggestion, get one of those easy up canopies so when you're working in something, like welding a hootis, you can at least be out of the direct sun just a little bit. The gnats are a whole different story. The only thing that gets rid of them is wind so when I work on something outside many times I'll bring a big fan out just to blow a little air to keep the bugs away. God bless y'all and we'll see you in a week or so.
Thank you Pam! Great suggestions!
Lydia I could see the moisture on your nech and shoulder. It was smart to take a water break. You have your priorities set good. You have a house all closed in and livable. You need a safe spot now just in case. When you get that done you can finish the house. Lydia you are a very beautiful woman and I love your smile. Jim you looked very nice in the suit. Have a wonderful week you 2. Love from Washington state
You could put fans out and get a breeze (hot breeze) ,a little will help
Warm breeze is better than no breeze for sure!
Good morning Lydia and Jim, great to see y'all this morning. Jim certainly looked great in the suit. He was barely recognizable and looked very professional. I love those little goats, they are so cute. Those pesky gnats will definitely wear on you and drive you nuts when they are bad. I really hate breating them in ugh! It's exciting seeing the second container up on the slab. Now you can really see and get a feel for the scale of the layout and it is looking great as it takes shape. As you commented, y'all are so very fortunate to have so much family so close by and such strong bonds. What a blessing and a joy to always have someone watching out for one another and lending a hand when needed. You are truly blessed. I love your sense of humor and it was rich in todays episode, very enjoyable. At the end, I notice the axel on the Hooti appeared to be sagging in the center. I couldn't help but wonder if a weld pulled away from the sleeve again. From everything that Jim said describing the the fatigue of the sleeve metal, I'm afraid you may likely have redo the axels on The Ultimate Hootis. But then again, I really don't know how much more it will be used or what future plans you might have for it. Your explanation of your current priorities made total sense and you both are the ones who really know where it's best to place your time and attention. People can make odd comments at times because they simply don't understand and can't see the whole picture. Don't let them bother you in any way. You two are doing it right and in the right order. I'm excited now about the workshop/shelter build and am looking forward to your next update. You guys have a great week and be safe out there in the heat. Larry, Central Valley, Ca.
Good gracious..1st, let's talk about Jim in those suits..wooooo baby. Yes, I am in South Alabama right above Pensacola..so hurricanes are part of living here..I was nursing during the Katrina hurricane , they let us bring our family to work with us that night..anyway..when we left work the next morning and started down the road...It was so bad that nobody said one word all the way home from looking at what all happened. Before I left my house to go to work I had leaned a Cross on my front door steps and walked around my house praying for it...long story short , I could barely drive into my drive way for all of the limbs down etc........BUT THAT CROSS NEVER HAD MOVED AND NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH MY HOME.
Whistle,whistle. You go Jim 😊👍🏾
Thank you!
Might be my favorite channel. The gnats are bad here too, and the flies in the Florida panhandle.
Thank you so much Bruce!
Thanks Cajun Country for keeping us all in suspense on whether or not the new welds on the container Hootis survived with this container move. Good work gang and look forward to the next episode. Cheers from this old, retired Hootis living the dream in Tennessee.
Jim weld angle iron from axle to axle.
The camo shorts and crocs are your best look.
If you want to keep gnats and sand flies away take a dryer sheet and let it hang out from under your ball cap. They don't like the smell. Works for chiggers if you put one in each shoe with the sheet sticking out of the heel.
Nice job y’all!!
Woods Off stops the gnats!
That’s Deep Woods Off!
We will have to get some!
If I were there, I would definitely have a pop-up shade shelter to move around to work under.
I hope you find the guard for the grinder. My husband lost the end of a finger when the grinding wheel shattered on the guardless grinder he was using (luckily it was on the job).
Jim, you look really sharp in those suits.
Another fun day! The metal needed heat relief - Annealing and then welded while still pretty hot. It would be a LONG process at home with a piece that large - SEVERAL TORCHES would be required and the temperature and rate of cooling would be very important.
Very true! We might try drift pins and plug welds if the crack again.
Yes a shop is really needed and they know what is best for them a lot more than we know.
❤️❤️❤️
You guys should really be at one million subs by now.... You two are pretty cool to watch.
Thank you so very much!!
With construction and home improvements, there is a thing called the "danger zone". It exists where a project gets to around 90% done and becomes functional for its intended purpose, and fully completed. It also stagnates at that point, because it's functional and work slows to a crawl as it becomes less important to get finished.
The danger zone is a real phenomenon, and is the bane of the existence of anyone doing this type of work. It takes discipline and perseverance to get through it!
I could definitely see that being an issue! However, we are not the type to quit a project even if it feels like it’s killing us😂
Ok I see the cliff hanger will Big Jim's weld hold up and if the weld doesn't hold up will he blame it on one of the planets in our solar system or will he blame it on the northern lights. Y'all are truly one of my favorite channels on TH-cam
A mix of 1 to 1 water and real vanilla extract in a spray bottle makes a good gnat repellant. Reapply as needed. I use the clear vanilla which is sold in abundance in Progresso, Mexico. I'm only 5 miles from there as the crow flies.
Will definitely try this!
Great job moving that container! Looking sharp in that suit Jim!
Thank you Gary!😉
Here in south-east Florida, we are NOT looking for the hurricane season. Good luck!!
Good luck to y’all too! Hopefully we all don’t have to deal with any of it!
Just trying to keep my head above water here in NE Texas & hope you don't get what we're getting now. Excellent job y'all 👍👍 Based on the current radar it's headed your way if it holds together
Let us know if y’all need anything Timothy! It’s here now.. no power! Shocker!!
@@CajunCountryLivin I'am good
Good job y'all! Jim looks sharp in that suit. I like the gator boots the best. Keep having fun.
Thanks! Will do!
Hi y'all good job fixing the axle and glad it held up for this job.
I completely understand why you have a time line to complete. This year the weather pattern has shifted and will very likely be much more supportive of large hurricanes.. it's best to prepare now. Best of luck from s. Florida.
Thanks for the Great Content!
Glad you liked it! 😁
No negative comments coming from this West Virginia guy ! Lydia & Jim keep doing what you are doing ! You all put out exceptional content and you are 100% honest ! I Love the channel !
Things are looking good, y'all are making some awesome progress. ❤
Good luck 🍀🍀🍀
Thanks so much!
Wow! Jim you rocked the cowboy hat and boots! Great job guys!
Thanks so much!

You did that all on your own.
Professional Container wheels start at around $1000 a pair.
You built your from materials you already had $0.00 cost to you.
👍
Great point!!
Yeah, my wife is from Indy. She went through her first hurricane last year, maybe the year before. Anyway, when I lived up there and they had a hurricane come through (Deep East Texas, Angelina / Jasper counties) Ike maybe. I had family trapped at home, my brother and brother-in-law were missing (They were ok. One had to shelter in place at work and the other at a church in Lufkin. So I packed up the wife and the baby, loaded up with all the tools to cut my way in 26 gallons of gas and 20 gallons of water. I pulled into the driveway about 13-ish hours after I hung up the phone with my mother. I was at work at the time.
It took some time for my wife to get used to the weather and dealing with the hurricanes. After going through her first a year or so ago. When she walked out the front door that morning she was speechless. The first thing she said was "It looks like a bomb went off in the front yard"! I said "yeah, I know. I warned you."
But she's a trooper!! If she can put up with me, she's got a hurricane licked!!🤪
I have to say I usually skip past the in video ads, but this one was entertaining. Jim looks like he is about to bust out laughing any minute. LOL
Haha! You nailed it!
One thing I was always taught was to get as comfortable as you can and your weld will be much better! It’s true! 👌🏻👍🏻
That’s the truth!!
I hate leaving my property but I’ve already said, one more time and I’m too old for this anymore! Can’t take anymore at 64 years old and living here all of my life! But the thing is where to go, there’s life threatening situations almost everywhere! I just pray that the year will be safe and I pray every time there’s a hurricane out there!
You guy are getting good at moving those containers. How'd the hoodis hold up? One of the axels looked bent. Maybe just the camera angle.
sadly, not just the camera angle. 😱
The other thing that is of concern is using a full face shield while grinding cutting metal and wear blue jeans to give the legs some protection. we live around Lafayette so we know the heat and humidity as well. I have seen the damage one of those disks can do WHEN - not if - they come apart - it's not pretty - darn near go through anything including a welding helmet in grinding mode or rip through jeans. Well this was my break. back to working around the house!
😊
I still think yall need an X brace in between the two axles, but I’m not here to judge your fabrication! Thanks for sharing, Kirk here in Lake Charles sending prayers and positive vibes to you and your families! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙋🏼✌🏻
Jim sweats, Lydia glistens.
i have been watching you all from when you were framing the house and loving every minute of it and liking the new project thank you for the videos and watching your little girl growing up dave from ct
Awesome! Thank you so much for watching!
I think the sleeve pipe was fatigued Good job moving the container . The skid steer did coming handy . Thanks to the Dirt Docter .
Dang Jim, you clean up nice, who knew? 😂😂😂
Right!🤤
Once again ya'll make a hard job look easy. But my main takeaway from this video is....."The next project I have, I'll tell Jim, he tells his brother and then when I awake the next day it will be done!" 😂🥰
Perfect Henry!! Just let Jim know about a week in advance for travel time.
Well done!
Thanks!
Hi y'all. Great job. I know living in the south. Nates suck when working outside. Keep up the great work. 👍👍❤🙏...
Thank you Larry!
Maybe put a rebar support underneath from outer pipe to outer pipe.
Good idea!!
Well done and stellar teamwork!
Thank you!!
Jim looking spiffy all dressed up!! Get that man to the ball!! HA HA HA Looking at the ultimate hootis at the end, Looks like you may need to beef that little guy up a bit. I honestly can't wait to see how you plan on getting the other 2 on there. Great team work as always!!
Stick welding should be done from bottom up not from top down. Mig doesn’t matter because you don’t have slag. Should have used a longer pipe in the middle so it won’t be as much stress on joints.
It depends on the rod they are using and you are wrong about mig as well. That depends on the wire and gas you are using.
I think they both did great.
I went to Welding school at Westlake High School Westlake La
Goodness me….need my fan. Jim scrubs up well!!!!
Simple answer, put a piece of 1 1/2 X 1 1/2 X 1/4" angle iron V side up underneath both pipes, [just tacked] 1" every 6" on both sides, the thing will never break again !!
Good idea!
Nice job moving the container!!
Thank you Allen!
Y'all get ready, I am in Tx just west of you and we are going to get another blast today...Always be prepared.
Is there any way that y’all can keep today’s storm over there in TX? We are floating over here😂
Those gnats are bugging ya for nagging Jim on his weilds... lol
Bahaha! KARMA!!
Bahaha! KARMA!!
@@CajunCountryLivin love ya both. Can't wait tell the new project gains momentum.
You shoulda drilled some holes inboard on the hootis and plug or rosette weld where the pipe goes into the sleeve...just sayin!
Great idea!!
The Sea Can Shop, if i had known the side door is the best you can lock your tools in one of the bays and out of sight of mind they say i like them You do not walk all of the way in the can to put something away ot get it out
Love the suit ad,Jim,hilarious 😂! So glad yall got the containers moved. And the its not done till the fat lady sings, love the music Lydia! Great video. Yall are so funny!
Thank you Karen!
I bet it was just the shipping container was just heavier on Jim’s welds, that’s why they broke. 😊
I hope that you never have to fix your broken Hootis again. But if you do I would suggest maybe using a scarf or fish mouth joint. This would provide more area to weld and a stronger joint over all. Especially since you have a good 8" overlap between the axles and extender pipes. Great job in gettin' er done.
The clothes can make a big difference, very handsome!!
Very much!!
Great team work Jim & Lydia 😊
Thank you kindly!!
One step closer
Thanks!
Enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi, Just a suggestion regarding the hootis dolly, weld some 3" angle iron on the underside of the tubes ( tube inside the V ) this will stiffen up the axles and also reduce the stress on the welds on the tubes .
Thanks for the tip!
Wow Jim at the start, Jim scrubs up well doesn’t he Lydia 😮❤🎉 Jim up the argument Jim, the wife is always right 😂 Good job and well done. Until the next great video❤❤❤
Wowzee Jim!!! U clean up nicely!!!!!
