Lydia the drone uses the same lithium battery. If you want some peace of mind go to a hobby store that sells radio control toys. Don't go to walmart type stores they will not have it. An actual rc hobby store. You can purchase a bag that you place batteries into charge. Then are a fire proof pouch for charging. You could set your phone in it for charging. I am glad that you didn't get seriously hurt.
Thank you for the info!
Gus's haircut looks great. Thanks for sharing another great story.
Thanks for watching!
I thought the container was off, but thought you did it on purpose 🤷♀ "A dingo ate your baby" 🤣 I actually thought you guys had gotten another dog 🤣I didn't recognize Gus. Oh yeah Jim you did look real suave in those suits, you clean up real nice. Lydia be more careful please, glad it wasn't worse.
Ole Gus definitely looks like a stranger nowadays 😂😂😂
Thank you for watching Carla!
After the past couple of years with little rain here in the DFW area, I thought I would never complain about too much rain, but Lord! We have had more than ample rain. Yet another 2 inches in my rain gauge this morning from the storms overnight. I think y'all are getting a similar experience. Anyway, thanks for sharing the projects, I always enjoy them.
Man! We are all getting hit with the showers! Y’all stay safe!!
I hear ya. I too live in the DFW area and last year without rain for two months just about did us in. And to add the 110 degrees to go with it. I’m a Louisiana boy and remember 98 degrees and 98 % humidity. I need to go mow but wearing rubber boots and shorts just doesn’t look quite right. Enjoy your channel.
Nice job on the added support beam and posts! It looks great! Hugs 💞
Wow about the phone blowing up, glad you are ok and never expected something like that happening. Take care
We are too! It was crazy!
A wonderful way to start a day! CCL mowing in the rain, moving containers to where they should have been to start with, burning holes in the containers... I mean, Life is good!!! 🤣I love this channel!
Hahahaha!! Love it Charles!! Thanks for watching!
Battery must have dead-shorted. Lucky it had a vent hole. YIKES!!
Yes! Thank goodness!
Welding is something I’ve never mastered 😂 Jim in the dog box for impersonating Lydia? 😂 No you shaved Gus 😢😢😮 Poor Gus 😢 Great job guys. Until the next video ❤
I stay in the dog box Robin!😂😂 Hope you have a great week!
Just a wonderful day to watch Cajun Country Living. Thank you for making my day better. Jim glad your “perfect” welding passed inspection. Lydia sorry for the burn
Thank you so much for watching!!
Y'all are so talented and full of family building wisdom and knowledge. I've learned so much when watching your videos. Thank you.
Thank you so much!!
I'm glad you can do some videos. I am about 3.5 hours from you and dealing with the same rain. Seeing that my videos are all fishing, well nothing is happening. Always enjoy watching.
Good morning y’all:) fun hearing Jim’s story on mowing in the rain,my husband was out there beating it this past weekend! But no lightning, yikes Jim! Gus looks great, like a puppy!..Good job on welding and supports, you’re getting it done, good luck. From WA state, take care❤
Hahah! Stubborn guys!😂🤣 thank you for watching Sharon!! Much love to you and your husband!
I'm glad ya'll are making progress. I hope you recover quickly Lydia!
Thank you Gary!!
Jim, I'm so proud to see you in the correct clothing for welding. I would say FR but you have made a lot of improvements. Great content, keep them coming, I'm looking forward to seeing the final results. Lydia, you are next on my safety patrol. 😁😁 Stay safe and enjoy the process.
Baby steps. 😜 Jeans are Fr at least! Shirt.. not so much. Thank you for watching!
Dingo all the way! Love the Chanel love the banter. Keep doing what you do!
Thank you Travis!!
You sure get a lot done between showers. That's going to be one sturdy safe area to be in, in case of really bad weather, hopefully you won't need it but my guess is at some point you will. Gus looks really Good by the way Jill cut's my hair also I usually react the same as Gus does 😊.
We sure hope we don’t have to either! Hahah!! 😂
I wish you would make a blueprint of what you are making sometimes takes a few minutes, so we will know what it's going to look like.
Hi! We have a whole video on it! I’ll link it here for you for easy access. 😁 th-cam.com/video/qgLjWMoe6vg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=J-aBKxQDrE3Hv4Us
Jim is like me . When I start something I hate stopping when I'm almost done.
Circumstances are telling me to stop but I usually don't listen and finish the job and except any consequences after.
I expected Lydia's critique of the welding to go different.😊
Nice welding outfit😊
One more step done.
Good idea adding the pipe supports.. Doing a little extra for safety purposes never hurts.
Lydia's experience with the phone battery is why I just buy a new phone. I had one start to get hot on me and I took it outside .
Fortunately I haven't had that problem since.
As always enjoyed seeing you two in another video 😊
Much better a Jim thing.. ya think? Haha. 😄
The welds looks great for being overhead! 😉
Yes!! Always just buy a new one!!
Oh also, Lydia, I recommend "Silvex wound gel". Works for 1st and 2nd degree burns, lacerations, infection....and more. Every 1st aid kit should have this in it. I've noticed that the Gel is safer to use long term than a greasy ointment because the wound can breathe. 🙏🏻
Thank you so much!!
@@CajunCountryLivin You're very welcome!
You’ll have a very beautiful dog 🐶
Thank you!!
The Flintstones (Cartoon ) s1 e5 1:30. Barney talks about a "whozit" tool. Immediately thought of yall with the "hootis" comedy. lol
😅😊
The support pipes are a very wise structure addition
Thanks!!
Have you considered using Grease under the Wooden Blocks
or some sort of slippery tough plastic, to drag the container easier?
That sounds like a really good idea. I especially like the plastic idea!
That is quite the shipping container hootis you are building there…looks great!
Thank you!!
Hi Lydia & Jim I enjoy watching your channel. I was curious about the containers you have. As to where you bought them from. Maybe I missed that episode. Thanks for any information you can share. God bless and have a great day!!!
Hi! Here is the link to the video of us receiving the containers! All the info will be in this video and in the description! Shipping Container Workshop: Turning Steel Boxes into Dream Spaces
th-cam.com/video/I7nkqV5vCow/w-d-xo.html
Jim I don’t know how often you use the metal chop saw but Diablo just made a new metal blade for those saws that cuts a lot faster than normal metal blades do
Thanks for the information!!
The drill stem vs casing.....🧐 18:36
My Grandpa CA Hillman 1900 Wildcatter.... Louisiana Arkansas West Texas. Oklahoma... 19:57
A common is just really wet when you catch fish in your mousetrap .....until that it's just damp lol
🤣
I always preheat the thicker side first it seems to help not make holes in the thinner stuff. Good luck to ya big job
I’ll try it out! Thanks!
Lydia you may need to take over the welding duties for Jim!!! lol. Hang in there Jim... Maybe Lydia can teach you some new tricks.. Maybe have Lydia play guitar at the end of the video!! She can play while Jim welds... or tries too... ha ha ha. But like always, I enjoy the videos... Always brings a smile to see your accomplishments together.
😂😂😂 I love it!! We talked about starting to play for y’all! We will have to do that for y’all!
He lloks like a cool dog.
Sure is!
Another great video. Thanks for taking us along. Gus looks a lot cooler.
Thanks for watching Jill! Much love to yall!
oh and stainless i love very much
I'm not joking (I know that's hard to believe) when I say, for the first half of this video I thought ya'll had gotten a new dog! Bless his heart🥰 The suspense is building as we all wait for the moment when the container is lifted on top of the others! I mean, what could go wrong!?😁🤔
I think we all thought Gus was going to be a little thicker than we he turned out to be!😂 looks like he shed half his body! lol. We can’t wait!!!🤞🤞🤞
TNX 4 VID LOL
Welcome!
17:48 Jim (unfortunately) that occurred in Australia, why do you have a British accent? 😅😂. Gus looks like a puppy with his new haircut, he is so cute 🥰. I think you made a great decision, I would also have used the bigger pipe. Great episode, thanks for sharing.
😅😅😅 so sorry. Wish I could’ve done a better Austrian accent! Thanks for watching!!
Love Ya'll.....from right here in South Alabama.
Thanks for always watching!🫶
backer plates on inside of container prevent blow thru
Good idea!
At first I thought that y’all got a new dog! Didn’t recognize Gus LOL!! He looks great and I’m sure he feels better too! 😊
Looks like he shed about 30lbs!😁👨🏭
@@CajunCountryLivin 😆😂🤣
Always entertaining!
Thank you!!
Sounds like The Ultimate Hootis might need a Hootiki for extra support!
Haha yes!!
Watching from Jamaica
Wow! So awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Do you know or not if the paint on those containers have lead in it? If it does, it might be best not to breath that stuff when your buffing. Be safe and I really enjoy your videos.
Hi! We will have to check! Thanks for bringing it to our attention!
Jim you and Lfyidia are so real. I live yawl!
Thank you so much!!🫶
Yall... when you changed Jims voice when he was imitating Lydia... I spit my drink out, I was laughing so hard 🤣🤣. Thats crazy about the phone battery and scary... So glad you are ok and weren't hurt too bad. Im sure, Lydia being the type of girl she is, will just rub some dirt on it and go on about life. Now.... the Ultimate Hootis..... I thought I saw some damage and yall did a good job of building it up so now the suspense is killing me. Cant wait for the next episode. Take care and have a great week!!
BOODIIEE! lol want to know something funny? I actually was just showing Jim that as a joke and FORGOT I LEFT IT IN THE VIDEO!😂 So I’m glad someone got a laugh from it!!
I sure will! But, I will use it to get out of a little bit of work.😘
Do it like Bad Chad does it
Jimbo. U said it , “ AINT NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THAT”
🤣🤣🤣
What kind of phone was it. ? You need to make sure to report it to them. That’s crazy. Glad you’re ok.
It was an iPhone. 😳😳😳
i hope you guys are going to be sandblasting & painting ...
Hi!! Are sure are!
Sure wished you'd beveled those pipes before welding.
I enjoyed this episode as always. But I have a question. You jacked up the cargo container to put the pads underneath the pipes. That seems to me like there will be more pressure underneath those pads than if the cargo container was distributing the weight along the whole base. Is that the case or am I missing something?
It just appeared to move a lot in the video. It only really moved the container maybe 1/32”. Just enough to remove some of the pressure while we put the stand piping in place.
@@CajunCountryLivin Well that makes sense! Thanks for letting me know.
Aren't you going to sit the other container on top of those 2 ?
If so, why do you need the pipes ?
😃👍🇺🇸🇦🇺
They sure are! The weight of the top containers would be fine on top without the supports we put in, but being it’s going to be a storm shelter we are added extra reinforcements.
Yeehaw Cajuns in the house❤❤
🥳🥳🥳
👍🏻👍🏻
😄😄😄
I vote dingo…😄😄
😂😂😂
Gus looks like a Beagle now.😂😂❤❤I thought y’all had gotten a new dog.
He’s got 1/4 beagle in him!
I like the Adam Sandler reference lol
😂😂😂
looks like you were using a 7018 rod to weld with. on rusty metal a 6024 would have been better. it would produce a cleaner weld. less chance of it cracking.
We used 6010s!
i don't know if it is true or not but someone told me that drill pipe isn't good to weld to. maybe that's the reason it failed?
It was magnetized so that makes it weak as well. ☹️
Wow that phone bomb is crazy heard it could happen but never knew anybody have it happen to them glad it wasn’t nothing serious later y’all.❤️😎🇺🇸
Yes! It was crazy! And for it to be an iPhone.. wild!
😃👍😍#1
Hi Jim, Lydia, Ladly
Good Morning 😊
Good morning!
@@CajunCountryLivin wow Lydia, that was a great video!! I was laughing when Jim would say pipe 😃 . I still think you, Lydia you should of done welding. Sorry to hear about your hand with the phone issue, you didn't say anything about it yesterday. 😊
Hope ya will have a good day this Wednesday. 💛😍 Y'all
Lithium batteries are very dangerous. UPS lost a plane and crew in 2010 when the lithium battery cargo caught
on fire. This is also why EV cars burn so intensely and fast.
Andrew Camarata built a castle with containers.
Oh wow! That’s WILD!
I am not expert on this, but I think I would have welded L brackets to the beam, and bolt them to the wall..
Lots of ways to eat an elephant!
now your container is not level you jacked it and added that 3/4 steel and lowered it did you check the containor ? I bet you did not and your door will alway swing closed
The assembly just fit tight….. the container is welded down so the jack only added enough deflection to tap the stand pipe in. Maybe 1/32”.
Boo, boo or bo, bo not all marriages can survive that discussion. Boo, boo is Yogi's Little Buddy. Just saying.
🤣🤣 especially when we are from different parts of the country.
Looks like the Broken Welder has become the Redeemed Welder. Of course, I didn't recognize him in the imposter suit. Curious how hard is it weld while wearing floaties on your arms? :) .. as for the Container Aimer, "missed it by THAT much". bwahaha
Gus looks happy, and that's what matters (well, that and he steals the show every time)
Lol! Wearing floaties are a must around here right now Mr. Matt! 😂😂
Hey y'all, That must have been scary when the battery caught fire in your house while holding it. They don't make them very easy to change.. Glad you are ok. I know the feeling Jim when you are just trying to finish and the weather starts acting up..
It sure was! I’m glad we are okay too!
235 K I'm rooting for 250K and much more
Thank you so much!🫶
Just to answer your question Lydia & Jim, Gus looks like a cute little doggie puppy!!! Hair grows back. And "I" spending my childhood cutting my moms and sisters hair....I couldn't do a better job. Props to you.
P.S, I've cut my own hair most of my life.
So, Gus looks great.!!!
🐶
Great work guys! That container shop isn’t going anywhere! Glad you’re ok Lydia. Batteries are dangerous
Thank you Terence!
Wrap you welding lead around the magnetized part two or three times and your welding problems are over 🙃
I would feel much safer structurally if the support for the ibeam is structural columns from the base to the top
I thought at first you had another dog! He looks positively naked, do they do suits for dogs too? 😂
Hahaha 😂
My daughter had a battery explode in her pocket in school a few years back. Since then she hasn’t bought a Samsung phone.
😬😬😬 none of us our safe! His was an iPhone.
Awesome idea with containers. Only concern I have is with 40ft containers, there will be a gap between the container and the concrete, and as you load stuff up in the container, they will flex a bit. I would suggest to put some braces/shims under the edges of the sides of the container in about 3 places, this may prevent the flexing of the containers. Sure hope this makes sense.
Absolutely! Great point. We will be adding shims whenever we begin cutting in the doors.
Hey y’all…Great vid…Thanks for sharing!!!🇨🇦
Thanks for watching!
Be thankful the phone didn't combust in his pocket & catch him & his clothes on fire, because there was a guy on a surveillance camera, at a convenience store, that that happened to him. The clerk grabbed a fire extinguisher to put him out & he went to the hospital with burns on some of his man parts because his phone was in his pants pocket. 😱🤯🙊🔥
Oh my gosh! That’s what he was telling me he was glad didn’t happen! WOW! I’m glad he’s okay!
If you do anything with the containers top is the most important. Make sure all problems with the top are located and fixed. Later a leaky roof is difficult to locate and fix
Thanks for the details & info!
Oh Lydia... 🥰
Dingo😊
Who's the new guy dressed like an adult ?only kidding guys good job as always
😂😂
you should invest in a mig welder make you life easier my friend
We should!
Jim, great job but…you laid it on a tiny bit thick 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
Too many years offshore, every time you strike an arc, I look away
Burnt eyes are no fun! 👨🏭
Gus is ADORABLE- but he makes me a NERVOUS WRECK around big machinery and going under the containers when y’all are moving em! 💙
Us too! We always watch for him!🫶
Even if there was an issue with lydia's welds. Hers held up to 2 containers.Years only held up to moving one.
As always an excellent job👌
Thanks again!
Thanks for the Great Content!
Thank you for watching!
I'm curious about the name of the phone that burst into flames and burnt you? 🤔🔥
I have one that has a lithium battery that is starting to swell.😬🤦🏻♀️
It was an iPhone!
@@CajunCountryLivin 👍🏻
Just started watching the video and I said out loud .. WHY IS JIM WELDING AND NOT LYDIA??? She's so much better at it for heavens sake 😂 😂 okay back to watching
😂😂😂 love it!!
I thought you got a new pup ha ha
🤣😂
Hello there good job
Hello there!
👍🏻👌🏻❤️🙏🏻
😁😁😁
Was wonder I’d like to try and weld 2x2 and 4x4 square metal tubing for a beginner what welding machines tools materials would you recommend thank you new to your channel and new subscriber
Don't worry Lydia, you aren't the only one! I've had a phone battery blow up while I had the phone in my hand too! It blew the back right off my phone and flew across the kitchen!
Question for You. Will you have to reinforce the walls of your lower and upper containers inside; as your doing to outside now. Before ; installing the upper Containers? To support weight?
Gus looked like a puppy,at first i thought it was a little gus....glad you are feeling better. Jim my lips are sealed.
It was so fun to meet you and Ladly last weekend, Lydia!! (I sent you an email, check it out when you have time) I'm so sorry about your finger ... that is some scary stuff with that battery.
Gus looks like a puppy now! LOL He HAS to feel SO much better.
Love the progress on the containers .... little by little ya all are getting there and doing a great job in the process.
It was great to meet you as well! Just got back to you!😄
He looks so much skinner than I thought he would be! Haha.
