I'm building the motor in my Jeep to a 397. MMX cam, ARH longtubes, full custom cat back exhaust, 392 intake, ported throttle body, upgraded thermostat, oil pump, with 392 injectors (need to upgrade), upgraded fuel pump, oh and a nitrous outlet plate kit. Would love to line up with you.
The people with the most to say are the ones either with no car or they drive a old Honda Civic with 300k+ miles. There will always be a faster car no matter what. Never build a car for what anyone else thinks, it’s for you ! You can have a V6 “oh you should’ve got a V8”, get a 5.7 V8 “oh you should’ve got a 392”, get a 392 “oh you should’ve got a hellcat”, get a hellcat “it’s too heavy and can’t turn you should’ve got a viper” lol point is run what you have and truth be told majority of the people commenting negative couldn’t even afford a base model v6 🤣
I have always thought your channel was about making the average kid that couldn’t afford an SRT feel proud about his RT. Some of the mods that you have done are affordable to the guy with limited funds, some are not , but in the end having fun is what it should all about.
My 5.7 just has a Greene Racing tune, Long tubes, 3.09 LSD and a 180 stat and im hitting 4.3 0-60’s consistent on the streets and hitting a 12.5 quarter. Don’t sleep on them.. The thrill of building a wicked daily is so fun!

I'm doing it with my 5.7! Got 345 HEMI on my fenders and a big R/T on my 1/4 panels. My coil covers also have 345 HEMI on them. I never pretend my car is anything more then a 5.7 HEMI and I have several friends with 392 cars that will not race me, period! They look at my cars timers and go "wtf? You're doing THAT with a 5.7?" LOL! I still want a cam but really that'll be the last thing I do and that's IF I ever can afford it. I'm thrilled that I was able to help you with your car and I've been a subscriber for quite a few years now and I always look forward to your new videos! I just hope I'm able to come up for a meet one of these damn times!
hahahaha - many overlook these R/T's & with the right touches they wake up nicely! Thank you for helping me along the way, I will always appreciate that!
I have a 345 Challenger 2019. If you don't mind me asking, what mods have you done so far without doing any cam work? I'm looking for some tips to wake this baby up!
@@TheGrimRunner Sure thing! I do all my own work so that saves me a ton of cash! But starting at the front it has a 2019 Hellcat Charger grill feeding an AFE Momentum intake that is connected to a 392 intake manifold that is run off of an MSD timer (Ryan has a video of it and I'm the guy on the phone with him) Hellcat exhaust manifolds which are basically mid length headers, Hellcat downpipes with 200 cell cats, Solo cat back exhaust system with 4.5 in double wall stainless steel exhaust tips. 3.09 limited slip diff, unlocked PCM and Diablosport tuner with a little HP tuners fiddling (no dyno tune yet, got downsized at work so no extra cash) Mopar performance lowering springs, drilled and slotted rotors, carbon ceramic brakes, SRT hood, front bumper, rocker panels, and rear bumper with aero style diffuser. Car is GoMango orange with the blacktop package and black roof. My best 0-60 is 4.4 seconds, best 1/4 mile 12.6 seconds top speed recorded 167mph. The stock cam is about done at that point. Yes I do know the 392 cars are faster, I'm not saying I spank every single one of them but like Ryan I give em Hell to about 100 - 110mph and then they slowly pass by. Luckily sometimes that's after the traps at the track! LOL! But seriously 3 friends all have 392 manual transmission Challengers and none will race me. Especially when they see that 4.4 0 - 60. 😉 The cam I want is a 270 grind Comp Cam, already proven to make more power then a stock 392. Yes I realize that a 392 owner can swap his cam too but seriously there aren't many cammed 392's running around near me and no cammed 5.7's that I've ever run into in the 4 years I've owned mine so I'm not terribly worried about either of them. Besides even if I do run into a cammed 392 he'd be in for a freaking shock if he didn't straight up put bus lengths on me in under 5 seconds. Just to see the look on his face of WTF would be sooooooo worth it!
Love the SRT 392 let’s face it it’s a lot better than the 5.7 I personally own a 5.7 to be honestly if I could go back I would definitely get an scatpack
I just got a Borla Catback and 85mm on my 2019 black top edition Challenger RT.. I love it even more than I first bought it!! RT life is the one to be in !!
YES! awesome!!!! Man, what a great build. You stuck with your car and ignored all the hate! Trust me I know about the hate with my RIPPed V6. What a great example of what a lower trim build can do. Keep representing my brother!
Dude people just try putting us down for building up our rides. I think they're jealous we're making our rides sleepers that can catch other performance cars off guard which is so much fun!
Mad respect on all your points for some of us the 5.7 is that sweet spot where you pay less in purchase/insurance and can mod like crazy to build what "you" want. I did the 3.09 and headers are out for delivery! Keep up the awesome content...
On the roads I like to rip up a V6 AWD 300 can compete with my 5.7. We will also eat a complacent 392 driver. Roads are windy where I live, even the 345s have to be careful to not overpower a curve.
@@RTLife yeah but like I said these roads aren't drag radial roads. These are crazy undulated turns taxing suspension grip and driver skill. I love my two lanes. Nothing like going to pass and you have to downshift to slip back in to avoid oncoming headlights.
This is what it's all about. Modding because you want to and it is fun. If you have the means to buy a higher a trim then take advantage it. No matter if you build or buy up, just remember mopar or no car! It's the best side! 😜
right on man. All in the name of fun in my eyes. I just don't understand why some have strong hate for the 5.7. It's a great option for those with a smaller budget but can afford to progressively add to it.
Think I mentioned it before, the only mods mods done to my 2012 Charger 345 R/T has been Front struts upgrade, Boy what a difference in cornering, brakes upgrade, and muffler deletion, Oh and a T shift lever knob. After a year of ownership didn't think I'd still be enjoying this car but, the HEMI keeps the excitement rolling.
Man theres nothing than a better feeling than walking on a stock srt or scat pack, and seeing there expression when they pull back up. I just experienced that a few weeks ago and they couldnt believe my stage 3 300s NA beat them ..
I love my 5.7! I have 1500 saved up for the cam already, probably going to do upgraded heads and ported intake on it after the cam and way down the line boost it. Already have CAI, longtubes, 90mm TB, hemifever tune. I genuinely enjoy working on my car. I could have afforded the 392 but I wouldn't be able to work on it as much since I would be dropping the money into a payment rather than parts. I will probably keep this RT forever. I will buy more cars later I am sure but I love this car, and something feels different about it when you can say YOU installed such and such and built it up. No knock on the people who buy their car and leave it. I just enjoy the fun/short bursts of rage I get from working on it.
I’m absolutely shocked that you answered, but I’m impressed too! You are an incredible content provider as well as great channel host! Cleetus NEVER replies to anyone! You da Man!
I have my Comp Cams Stage 2 HRT cam coming in next week. Went with the Stainless Works long tubes which are on now. This Stage 2 HRT cam came out last year. It's supposed to be easier on the valve springs in the higher rpm's
So I love my 5.7 if I’m going to race. I’m not going to race a 392 or a hellcat. Back in the day we would race on 231 . But we raced 318 to 318 . 390 to 390 if you get my meaning . I see people put down the 5.7 . It bothers me But that’s me . And built not bought. . Just my 2 cents and if LI had a drag strip then I would build a 800 hp car. RT like always thank for a great video. And are you a daddy yet for the 2nd time ...
It bothers me a bit as well seeing these clowns putting down the 5.7 as well. Which is why I decided to make this video. Give these 5.7 the ride touches & they haul ass!
I plan on doing these upgrades on my 5.7 when I get back from deployment so it's really good to know where the 5.7 stands with the 6.4. A procharger is gonna be in the works after all that
You're going to really like the increase in power with that procharger. Thanks man for the support & your service. Let me know how the modifying turns out when you begin.
Time to boost that 5.7 and start closing them thoughts about the 5.7 not being a good engine period 💯🏁, let it rip brother you represent the 5.7 community well 💯
Love the videos bro, by buddie just got a 2016 shaker 392 manual, and I have a rt stick 5.7 cammed and ported heads and headers and tune, going to line them up soon, drivers race for sure
More than half of the people that say that don’t even own a car. Do what makes you happy, get the car that you want. At the end of the day it’s your car. Some people just want that higher trim label on the side of the car just to say they have it, and half of the other car owners don’t care they are just happy with what they have.
So I ended up getting a free set of hellcat rims thru discount tire for free. (Lucky deal ) but I noticed it seems the front sticks out more then the rear does 🤷♂️ I’m running 295/40’s on it. Is the rear more narrow then the front of car ? Rims are 9.5
From factory they're all the rim sizes are the same. I would ask if the fronts & back have different offsets. They could be the same size with different offsets.
R/T Life ahh that’s a good point. I didn’t think about that. If TH-cam allowed pics here I would show you. But you can definitely see a difference in how the front sticks out vs the rear.
Like I said before I love what your doing. I know for a fact that you can make your 5.7 so it will out run a scat pack challenger. Not 0 to 60 but I did from 70 to 110.
So, if you knew then what you know now, would you had started with the tune, and stroking it? Starting on my r/t but really having a hard time deciding where to go after the tune
It's so hard to really say because much of my decisions was based on $$$. I didn't think I would ever get this far into modding. I guess I would just save up for a stroker kit & cam right out of the gate. (but that is based on knowing I would want to take my RT this far)
I bought the 2019 Challenger in January... and the torque it puts out has me feeling like I can do some simple mods and give a Scat owner a hard time. Only problem is I got it with 14k and warranty will take a bit to get passed. I drive 2 miles to work! I'm thinking of saying F the warranty and start upgrading. Already did the exhaust. Tune, cold air, Hellcat headlight intake tube, tstat, throttle body, catch can ordered. Disclaimer: yea I've heard the throttle body is waste of money.
I haven't commented on your videos in a while but been watching and I agree with you 100% . People don't realize how slow cars really were not all that long ago meaning 80s and 90s so 5.7 is far from slow it's just things keep improving rapidly. I started 5.7 and loved playing with it and now with it stroked to 410 it is a blast ! Still working with jay Greene with tune but torque is amazing and I wouldn't hesitate to play with a scat or srt 392.
When I had the 5.7 I wanted it to be a Scatpack. I didn't waste to much money modding it. Traded it in on a Scatpack and never looked back. I like it 100% more than my 5.7. I'm not wasting a dime on the Scatpack as far as performance goes. I actually just bought a motorcycle to cure my need for speed. Its a Triumph Thruxton R. Stock its as fast as a Hellcat. I just have to learn how to ride it safely now! Its really scary lol.
Oh Man, I bet Frank so wishes that those clips would get deleted! The 5.7 is really the only trim level that can modded to compete with the next higher level without doing force air. For v6 to compete with a 5.7, or a 392 to compete with a hellcat, you pretty much have to do forced air on those trims. This is what makes the 5.7 the best trim if you are looking to do incremental, relatively low-cost mods.
"This is what makes the 5.7 the best trim if you are looking to do incremental, relatively low-cost mods." exactly my thoughts on the 5.7 Chargers/Challengers
Modding in my opinion is way more rewarding to take the underdog and transform it into a car you know will compete with higher trim levels and win gives you a different kind of pleasure. A feeling of what you have done is paying off. And just look at your car you can't get that at a dealership you build with hard earned cash and good decisions research and with in mind a goal of where you would like your car to be . That's the rewards and fun you get from modding .
Great video bro! Do you have 305/25 on your rear tires? Also do you have coilovers or lowering springs? How low did you drop it if you have lowerring springs
They're 305/45/18 on the back. Yes, I have eibach sportline lowering springs. They just replace the stock springs & drop the car about 1.7" - gives it a nicer stance in my opinion
Watching your build of the 5.7 has definitely made me respect that motor more and more. Definitely have a sleeper. How much power are you pushing right now?
Thanks man, I really appreciate it. At this moment I have a fully forged & Cammed 6.5L 397 waiting for Forced Air. It makes 450whp & 455 in torque N/A.
Man I've. Been spinning 392cgears since 1997 i bought a stolen bank repo got the 96 reg cab, down to a best 14.42 barrel intake stack stall 4200lbs... gears ive got my 5.7 hemi its a 390 hp version it will go infront of my 46rh, nolts up withh 2300 stall it hures my 2000 rt, lets add from 250 hp to 390, on 392 gears an i have set of 4.10, and a set of 4.56s the gears will make it a fun toy, and i still have od and lock up on demand... looking forward to leting you know how quick.. i see no problem hitting 12, and to boot i have a couple of 91- 96 reg cab Dakotas.
Hey R/T Life, have you put a high flow oil filter as one of your upgrades? Does it even matter? Thanks again for your content! Been subbed ever since the pedal commander video haha
Great results really, amazing performance you are seeing and proving with the mods! Curious about your stock cam...after you took it out did you see any evidence of serious cam lobe wear? Maybe you can do a video showing this.... I keep seeing some complaints about this and it's scaring me a bit from buying the 300c Hemi I want 🤔 Did you make any changes to the lifters or oiling surfaces of the camshaft? Thanks!
I have a 392 I did have a 5.7. I say be happy with what you got. I love my 392 but the 5.7 was fun. And 5.7 is about $10k cheaper to get into. But yeah some are snobs. I only lol when a guy in a V6 wants to race my 392
hahah I hear you on the racing! SRT did a great job with the 392 & after modding the hell out of my 5.7 it's super clear. Either way, thanks man for the support - these Hemi's are a lot of fun.
It's really not that hard to get your R/T to the 392 power level. If you can turn wrenches yourself it's not all that expensive either. Dipping into the 11's is very achievable, and that's damn quick. I loved watching that original video of you beating the 392 in a best of 3! Great seeing people hitting their goals in their project cars! Some people really get hung up on trim levels instead of looking at a vehicles potential. That's been going on since the original muscle car era though. The 426 hemi is the legendary engine in the original Challenger and Charger that everyone looks back on and loves (rightfully so), as well as the 440 , but if you had a mopar with a 340 you could still make some serious power and hurt a lot of feelings. It had a lot of potential. Same holds true today. Even a 3.6 with a decent shot of nitrous on it would make a really fun daily driver/weekend warrior type car. Bottom line, enjoy your car and enjoy making it into what you want. Most of the people laughing about upping the power on a lower trim level car (like the comments you posted over the race in this video) have never turned a wrench in their lives. Ignore those people, make something cool and unique.
My 5.7 Challenger chased a loud SRT and pass'em at 120 and i slowed down 130. I have a Flowmaster catback and it will scream above 3500 rpm then at 5k plus rpm, all i hear is weeeeeeee... weeeeeeeee. I love it when Maggie whines while being domesticated. lol. Btw, can't wait till you boost your charger..
hey man i finally have the money for my cam on my 5.7 everything is almost like yours except the 6.4 intake manifold, do you have the link to the cam you got for the 5.7 mines the same year and package im so excited been watching your channel for a long time !
I think the NA guys have forgotten that gears will make or break any combination, granted new 8 speed ZF changes that some, but torque is torque, this is where the 6.4 edges the smaller 5.7, especially at the drags. Its easier to add a set of gears, get the increased torque multiplication and get more torque at lower road speeds which is key, and still have good daily driver status. A set of 3.09s, the top speed in 6th in a ZF is 168 going to a 3.55 it drops to 149; with a red-line of 6500 and approximately a 27" tire. Most 400hp to the tire cars will still pull the first OD ratio in the trans anyway, mileage effects would be nil, I mean even in roll racing how often are you getting over 150mph? Gearing is probably the most effective performance per dollar mod you can do on any car, but in today's world of the mega speed transmissions people seem overly hesitant to do so.
Nice message bro.. wow thr is alot of haters on the R/T it's all good.. I own a 06 R/T 5.7. I'm no that type of owner wr I want to race everyone but I do have with it tho, I'm a fan of mopar regardless if it a v6 or v8 I like them all.. much love and RESPECT bro to u.. keep up the good content
since the max on those is ~6psi, twin turbos at max safe boost would still probably get the edge on a hellcat honestly. twin turbo for 5.7l can put 600rwhp on just stock internals so imagine a 6.4!!
I wonder if those people who commented all those things still comment on your videos saying the same thing. Lol! Don’t get me wrong a 392 is obviously faster. Yet any car with mods can be fast. If you put a 274 Comp cam in a R/T you’re at 392 power territory.(look up videos). I can only imagine the feelings you got when you beat or keep up with cars who think “it’s just a slow r/t”. Great stuff. Looking to stroke my engine to a 392, stage 2 HRT Comp cams camshaft, with a P1x procharger. Should be fun. Well put video 👍. My favorites were when you beat a 392 and the GT350
When you kick the crap out a hellcat you're going to jump for joy & it will happen man. I know guys with 392's with similar setups to what you're looking to do & they love it. Having a ride that shocks people. I don't get much hater comments anymore though, at least on my RT. I used to get a lot
R/T Life Yeah people will always hate. You can’t please everyone, but as long as you’re happy that’s all that matters. Looking forward to when or if you boost your car and the races that come with it.
Also... I have to say that if a stock 5.7 charger upgrades to a 3:55 rear, you WILL RUN Highway and dig pulls competitively with almost all 392 Hemi’s and most Mustangs/Camaro’s. Get good tires.
From what I understand it's all the same lower-end are you there are you bored or you stroke it or you stroke and bore it am I correct I'm looking for more information here because I'm so confused
It’s crazy to me how people bash on sxt and Rt’s. I don’t understand it. Y’all say”mopar or no car” but don’t but the sxt and rt’s in that community. I have a ‘16 Challenger sxt and i love it death.
Had the 5.7 in my other 300....but the 392 6.4 is a much better performer...0 60 in under 6 seconds ...and only mod was 3in cat back flowmaster exhaust
great video.......i cant wait to pull out my v6 for a 5.7 hemi in my charger...plus the 5.7 are cheaper to buy i think i like when u say its a sleeper....
Whenever you mod a lower trim level to make it competitive with a higher one, you have to do into it knowing one thing. It will cost you at least just as much and in most cases more than if you had bought the higher trim level in the 1st place just to be competitive. From someone who spent money getting a lower trim level to compete with a higher one, I can attest to that. In my case, I chose to make my Mustang V6 competitive with the GT trim level. By the time I supercharged my car; added gears; and other mods;, it would have been cheaper to buy the Mustang GT in the 1st place. The other thing is that anyone who mods a car will make mistakes along the way. In other words you almost certainly spend money that does little for performance out of ignorance. You're not going to get more money for the car when you sell it because it is modded. You will most likely get less for it or you'll spend money returning it to stock. Am I going to get rid of my car and buy a Camaro, Mustang GT, or Scat Pack? The answer is no. I like the car; it has low miles and is in very good condition. Some people get a sense of satisfaction out of improving a car and making it competitive with a higher trim level. Others think the juice isn't worth the squeeze. Knowing what I know now, I don't think I would have spent the money on a V6. The only things I can say for sure is start with a plan and put a reasonable budget. The most important thing is to be realistic.
In most cases you're correct. I guess you buy a ride, enjoy it & one thing leads to another. Before you know it you're lining up vs cars you never had a chance beating. Modding is an addiction & I think most of us would do it no matter what we bought to begin with.
Yes.. this makes sense if you have the cash around to buy the car.. if you are making car payments..the higher trim costs a lot more.. hence the car modifications to always make your car faster... mustang v6 guys want to compete with GTs.. get a GT and you want to compete with a Shelby / Cobra.. get a Shelby and you want to beat up on Corvette Z06s.. see what I mean.. you just end up spending money on the higher trim too.. best is to get what you can comfortably afford..
@GreenGo Daytona - When it comes to getting what you can afford, I agree with you. My point is that it might not be worth it to get a lower trim car to match a higher trim level. The most important reason is that it will cost you more money. If you want a Scat Pack and only have money for an R/T, get what you can afford. Save money, lower what you owe, and then get the Scat Pack at a later date. You'll make out better in the long run in terms of finances. There's nothing wrong with buying a lower trim level. You can still have fun with it. I'd have a blast driving a Callenger R/T with a manual transmission.
I have a Challenger 6.4l manual and what sucks is that you dont gain shit NA after headers, intake, exhaust and tune compared to other cars..Still love my Srt but shit its expensive to modd these beasts..wtf and your cars a beast ,catch a manual hellcat owner that doesnt know how how to drive and you ghost him brother..trust me I've dusted a few..
The beauty of a 392 though is with those simple upgrades you're likely a high/mid 11's car. Maybe some demon springs, rims/radials - you're doing some impressive times. These hemi's like you said though def cost a bit to mod. Hemi tax I guess haha. Thanks man for the support - enjoy that 392
The reason 5.7s and mopars get mocked is yall will buy a v8 and go YUP fast enough and do rice accessories instead of modding like RT life we made an 09 RT charger run like a beast with SIMPLE mods and its lady driven she put a bus length on a g37 a car length on a c5 vette dont drive a stock car then bitch that yall get smacked around because u CAN make a 5.7 run like crazy, we have a 08 srt8 tht puts a little over 2 cars on a s550 5.0 auto and ive riden with him we have put the hurt on many cars
I respect the modders, regardless of the starting point! V6, 5.7, 6.4 or Hellcat - enjoy it
I'm building the motor in my Jeep to a 397.
Absolutely!
The people with the most to say are the ones either with no car or they drive a old Honda Civic with 300k+ miles. There will always be a faster car no matter what. Never build a car for what anyone else thinks, it’s for you ! You can have a V6 “oh you should’ve got a V8”, get a 5.7 V8 “oh you should’ve got a 392”, get a 392 “oh you should’ve got a hellcat”, get a hellcat “it’s too heavy and can’t turn you should’ve got a viper” lol point is run what you have and truth be told majority of the people commenting negative couldn’t even afford a base model v6 🤣
hahaha you're probably on the money with this.

The cam I want is a 270 grind Comp Cam, already proven to make more power then a stock 392.
The 392 is awesome - it's what I originally wanted & why I wanted to race them so often. SRT did an amazing job with that Hemi.
R/T Life yes they if I could go back in time I’ll defenetely would got them 392
I just got a Borla Catback and 85mm on my 2019 black top edition Challenger RT.. I love it even more than I first bought it!! RT life is the one to be in !!
It's crazy to think how far you're 5.7 has come. The future looks very bright for you and I can't wait to see it👍
def has been a fun road! Thank you for supporting the channel throughout the progress
Much respect, do you and keep those videos Rollin💪🏼
Thanks man - these hemi's are a ton of fun. Regardless which one you have
Don’t like the 5.7 slander they push there cars the most(speaking from experience) and if there was no 5.7 there is no 6.4 or 6.2
yah man, the 5.7L hemi started all this fun! In the end we're all on the same squad
YES!
That was a great pull you did Bud,! A great veiw! Never look back 😈! Appreciate your efforts bud! be safe !🙂✌
Thank you! I really appreciate the support
💯 good video man. Don't sleep on us RT owners. We love our Mopar just as much as you like you're hellcat. Regardless of price or power
def don't count us out! These Hemi's are a lot of fun & they wake up real quick
RT owners don't curse every 6 months when their insurance bill comes due!
Mad respect on all your points for some of us the 5.7 is that sweet spot where you pay less in purchase/insurance and can mod like crazy to build what "you" want. I did the 3.09 and headers are out for delivery! Keep up the awesome content...
Once you get the headers in - let me know what you think! That Hemi is going to be breathing nicely
R/T Life will for sure I did the 3.09 after seeing your success good stuff man
Dude, that was just flat out badass!
The way you were posting those Troll comments 😂😂
Good stuff as always man!!!
The haters are such clowns. Thought putting them on display would be a nice touch hahaa
Thanks man!
On the roads I like to rip up a V6 AWD 300 can compete with my 5.7. We will also eat a complacent 392 driver. Roads are windy where I live, even the 345s have to be careful to not overpower a curve.
AWD on the streets is a big advantage - unless the RWD has radials
@@RTLife yeah but like I said these roads aren't drag radial roads. These are crazy undulated turns taxing suspension grip and driver skill. I love my two lanes. Nothing like going to pass and you have to downshift to slip back in to avoid oncoming headlights.
@@TA_Plus_Hemi That would make for great content...just sayin 🤣
@@TA_Plus_Hemi Plus somebody like me. I love the TAs they're My favorite. There isn't a big TA channel out there.
Nice! Glad you're enjoying that hemi - they're so much fun
Big FACTS bro! The 5.7 has potential it’s just untapped by most. Great video!
100% agree with you - most don't want to find out what it can do
Man theres nothing than a better feeling than walking on a stock srt or scat pack, and seeing there expression when they pull back up. I just experienced that a few weeks ago and they couldnt believe my stage 3 300s NA beat them ..
probably one of the best feelings ever. Taking down the trim above is a blast. Can't wait to line up vs Hellcats once forced air is added.
@@RTLife I cant wait to see that , imma try to get some videos out of my mods. No 300s have any vids
@@RTLife if you were in cali I'd hit you up bro
Well said, and very professional about it.thats why I subscribed to your channel.
Thank you, I really appreciate it.
You da Man!
Thanks man, I try my best to get back to everyone if possible. I really appreciate the support
Great results from 5.7 hemi build 👏, gotta respect it 💯.
Thank you, I really appreciate it. This has been a lot of fun
My parents bought a R/T in 2015 they got a Scat pack a couple weeks ago and gave me the 5.7 hopefully gonna be outrunning them in a couple months
Both are awesome rides! Congrats on the Hemi - enjoy it man
I have my Comp Cams Stage 2 HRT cam coming in next week.
It bothers me
But that’s me .
R/T Life I’m bout to start building my 2017 5.7L 😁😁😁
I plan on doing these upgrades on my 5.7 when I get back from deployment so it's really good to know where the 5.7 stands with the 6.4. A procharger is gonna be in the works after all that
Dropping a like on the video just for the education 👍
You're going to really like the increase in power with that procharger. Thanks man for the support & your service. Let me know how the modifying turns out when you begin.
@@RTLife thank you for replying so fast!
Time to boost that 5.7 and start closing them thoughts about the 5.7 not being a good engine period 💯🏁, let it rip brother you represent the 5.7 community well 💯
Man once forced air is added, this thing is going to be a monster! Not much is going to keep up - should be a lot of fun
Love the videos bro, by buddie just got a 2016 shaker 392 manual, and I have a rt stick 5.7 cammed and ported heads and headers and tune, going to line them up soon, drivers race for sure
Def let me know how you do. That should be a good match up!
More than half of the people that say that don’t even own a car. Do what makes you happy, get the car that you want. At the end of the day it’s your car. Some people just want that higher trim label on the side of the car just to say they have it, and half of the other car owners don’t care they are just happy with what they have.
Agreed
Good stuff Bro! Haters going to hate. But we are happy modding our cars, that's all that matters.
yah man - so many haters out there talking their nonsense! Fun shutting them up & proving them wrong
You can make these 5.7 hemi rip! Just need the right upgrades in place
Appreciate the feed back! This learning curve has been quite steep so far and I’m watching/reading as much as possible to plan out my build
Both of the cars look cold 🥶
Thanks man
R/T Life np bro
I bought the 2019 Challenger in January... and the torque it puts out has me feeling like I can do some simple mods and give a Scat owner a hard time. Only problem is I got it with 14k and warranty will take a bit to get passed. I drive 2 miles to work! I'm thinking of saying F the warranty and start upgrading. Already did the exhaust. Tune, cold air, Hellcat headlight intake tube, tstat, throttle body, catch can ordered. Disclaimer: yea I've heard the throttle body is waste of money.
Never seen that footage before with that 392...good win!
we had some good match ups - thanks man
I have been looking into headers but i am not sure which to get. I've heard stories of both the BBK and Kooks long tubes. Which would you prefer?
Ive always wondered how the 6.4 community treated the 5.7 community. Good video man sick car
I don't think many of those commenters are 392 owners - just car guys that hate on the 5.7
@@RTLife ohhhhh gotcha
Modding in my opinion is way more rewarding to take the underdog and transform it into a car you know will compete with higher trim levels and win gives you a different kind of pleasure. A feeling of what you have done is paying off. And just look at your car you can't get that at a dealership you build with hard earned cash and good decisions research and with in mind a goal of where you would like your car to be . That's the rewards and fun you get from modding .
Great video. I really like your topic in this one
Thank you
I agree just build your car enjoy it at the end of the day it’s your money.
I agree man, all about having fun & enjoying the road
I am still waiting for the day you install the supercharger or turbos on your RT, thanks for sharing
Saving up - I will get there. I do appreciate the support
Yes supercharger supercharger supercharger . Lol .
Great video. I love my 5.7 even though I'm not racing it
They're a ton of fun. Sound amazing to
Great video bro!
@@RTLife I agree it makes it look more aggressive. Thanks for answering bro
Just gave me some hope!
These hemi's are strong - just need the right combo on upgrades.
Everything was well said sir. Keep up the content!
Hey which tune will be good for my rt I have a 2018 charger but I don't know which tune should I get
What upgrades do you have in place already?
I have nothing lol, I will be doing muffler delete this week
I saw you talking abaut Janelly racing tune
Hey what do you think of 295/45/20tire on 8" heritage muscle wheels for rear ???
Man I've. Been spinning 392cgears since 1997 i bought a stolen bank repo got the 96 reg cab, down to a best 14.42 barrel intake stack stall
4200lbs... gears ive got my 5.7 hemi its a 390 hp version it will go infront of my 46rh, nolts up withh 2300 stall it hures my 2000 rt, lets add from 250 hp to 390, on 392 gears an i have set of 4.10, and a set of 4.56s the gears will make it a fun toy, and i still have od and lock up on demand... looking forward to leting you know how quick.. i see no problem hitting 12, and to boot i have a couple of 91- 96 reg cab Dakotas.
Mod till you drop !!!
1000% agree! You have a modded up 5.7L & 392 - no one gets this more than you
I feel like people who put down the RT don't really know how to build cars if you really know what u doing you can make any car fast
100% agree - look no further then the 5.8L drag pak.
Hey R/T Life, have you put a high flow oil filter as one of your upgrades? Does it even matter? Thanks again for your content! Been subbed ever since the pedal commander video haha
What are the specs of the cam you had amd what you have now?
Also, with cam and long tubes, what did you dyno at?
Nice build man
Thanks man, I appreciate it
Lol dude getting stuck on sticky track is too funny 😂
hahaha - that always cracks me up
Great results really, amazing performance you are seeing and proving with the mods!
Curious about your stock cam...after you took it out did you see any evidence of serious cam lobe wear? Maybe you can do a video showing this....
I keep seeing some complaints about this and it's scaring me a bit from buying the 300c Hemi I want 🤔
Did you make any changes to the lifters or oiling surfaces of the camshaft?
Thanks!
If you can’t afford the car you want, then love the one your with :)
100% agree with you
Yesssiirrr 💯💯💯
Thanks man
I have a 392 I did have a 5.7.
I love the look of the Charger, R/T or Scat Pack
same
That reaction was priceless 😂😂😂🙌🏾💯💪🏾
haha I was pumped!
Imagine if the 6.4 wa s a boostable engine it would be great 🤯
It would walk Hellcats all day long
since the max on those is ~6psi, twin turbos at max safe boost would still probably get the edge on a hellcat honestly. twin turbo for 5.7l can put 600rwhp on just stock internals so imagine a 6.4!!
I used to be 392s with my modified 5.7, not every time but a lot of times
Would I have bought a 6.4? YES! Can I currently afford it? NO! Until then, let there be an R/T!
haha, I hear you on that! Dodge has a v8 for everyones budget
Also... I have to say that if a stock 5.7 charger upgrades to a 3:55 rear, you WILL RUN Highway and dig pulls competitively with almost all 392 Hemi’s and most Mustangs/Camaro’s. Get good tires.
Gearing & tires will certainly help - both are not to expensive either
With this mentality anyone not in a Demon should stop wasting their time. Built over bought any day and twice on Sundays...
I agree man - build what you want & have fun in the process
From what I understand it's all the same lower-end are you there are you bored or you stroke it or you stroke and bore it am I correct I'm looking for more information here because I'm so confused
I have a 392 stroker kit on my RT with a 30 over bore making it a 397.
Haters mad because they don't own mopar products🤣🤣
can you do a video on how much all the mods have cost so far?
please and thank you!
It’s crazy to me how people bash on sxt and Rt’s. I don’t understand it. Y’all say”mopar or no car” but don’t but the sxt and rt’s in that community. I have a ‘16 Challenger sxt and i love it death.
what kills me is the fact that the RT started it all. all those Scatpack’s are just RTs with 392s lol 😂
yup - the 5.7 started all this Hemi fun we see today.
Had the 5.7 in my other 300....but the 392 6.4 is a much better performer...0 60 in under 6 seconds ...and only mod was 3in cat back flowmaster exhaust
It would be cool to see how my RT with just a exhaust would do against yours lol to get a comparison of how much of a difference it is
Come to long island & find out
great video.......i cant wait to pull out my v6 for a 5.7 hemi in my charger...plus the 5.7 are cheaper to buy i think i like when u say its a sleeper....
Better to build yourself and have fun doing it. My 5.7 cost me £2000.00. You cannot get a 392 in the UK for less than £25000.00.
This is the exact build I want..! 😩
You have the best R/T bro, I have a 2019 Hellcat charger and I drive like a old lady lol.
Thanks man, I really appreciate it. Those Hellcats are so much fun, I don't blame you though for driving it like a baby. That's a lot of power!
Thanks man for the support - enjoy that 392
That R/T is a sleeper !!!
Yes sir
Amen 🙏
Thanks man
Great video bro i wanna get my 5.7 chrysler 300 a lil more power and need to remove my governor it's a 2013 might get a diablo tuner

Chrysler 300??
The reason 5.7s and mopars get mocked is yall will buy a v8 and go YUP fast enough and do rice accessories instead of modding like RT life we made an 09 RT charger run like a beast with SIMPLE mods and its lady driven she put a bus length on a g37 a car length on a c5 vette dont drive a stock car then bitch that yall get smacked around because u CAN make a 5.7 run like crazy, we have a 08 srt8 tht puts a little over 2 cars on a s550 5.0 auto and ive riden with him we have put the hurt on many cars
MOPAR OR NO CAR!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn right!
