He has gotten so insanely good at this map! I remember when every single one of these jumps used to give him a panic attack and now he just flies through them while casually yapping
E
Oh yeah, I remember the first few hours. Insane development. Then again, this is something he invested 200 hours in.
panic attack is crazy
This has to be Wirtuals most impressive performance, mindblowing!!
Doing DD2 live whilst explaining and being entertaining is nuts.
Those 200hrs are showing!!
Yes, this is so much harder than it looks. At 5:05 he mentions only 1% of players made it to floor 3. What he doesn't mention is that it also took him over 5 hours to get that far. In this run he makes it look like 4 minutes of casual driving, but it really is extremely difficult. The 200 hours are showing indeed!
E
@@underwatersmurf6432reaching 540 meters is already top 100 its insane
He played this game for 200 hours?? Today's youth man. In the good days we read a book for 2 hours every week and worked 200 hours!!
@@utm0st no not the game, just this map in particular
he has more than 10k hours in the game
Wirtual when he's supposed to pay for charity with every fall: one shots 10 floors
Wirtual: giving info
Chat: Joel 🐟
🌈🐟🔄
Why do they say Joel
@@runescapeiwatchvids
I think it's a reference to one of the earlier memes, the spinning tuna (rainbow version).
Joel is the name the "spinning fish" emote has in the BetterTTV extension, which allows custom emotes in Twitch and TH-cam chat. Everyone without that extension just sees the word "Joel".
@@Lampe2020 oh ok ty
its cringe as hell
it was really nice to watch this as a youtube only viewer; the videos show every jump as terrifying and death defying, but then he can just go and crush every single trick up to floor 10 faster than it would take to watch any of the other deep dip 2 videos. he's so CLEAN
E
You say "youtube only viewer" like it's a race or something, just go watch on Twitch
@@connor1586 ????????
@connor1586 you hear it like that; they don't say it like that.
@@connor1586 you should talk to people in real life more dude
It's insane to me that Wirtual was able to drive to floor 11 and beyond while explaining the map almost the entire time with 0 falls on his first try. I know he's grinded the map a lot, but for anyone who hasn't played this game or hasn't played much of it, trying like 90% or more of these jumps and tricks your first go, even after playing the game dozens of hours, feel downright antagonistic. Wirtual and the handful of others like him are so good at TM and obstacle maps that the majority of his viewership have no idea how difficult even the "basic" looking things he's doing are.
E
Yea that’s a good comment 🙌
I think people underestimate how hard this may be, because he makes it look so easy. Same goes for anything people are extremely skilled at, they make it look effortless approachable, and simple, but in reality you're just watching a master at work.
As a youtube only watcher, it's wild seeing him flawlessly plow through the early floors that used to give so much trouble. The climb back up is always cut in the YT vids after all so I don't really think abolut all the practice he must have until I see him speeding through.
Tetris effect... ok so there's a name for that, lol.
When I was grinding Goldeneye and Perfect Dark IL speedruns a lot, after a while (like maybe a year or more) I'd be walking around picturing the lines I'd try to take if real life were like goldeneye, like imagining what it would be like if going diagonally and looking down really went faster, entering doors slightly faster by taking something out of my pocket, etc... lmao
Had that for season 1 of TFT, everywhere i looked i saw those fucking hexagons positioning champions lol
E
I got into a Tetris phase for a while, and I was literally seeing Tetris games in my mind's eye at almost all times of the day. I had no idea it was an actual known phenomenon with a name lol.
I played Baldur's Gate 3 so much I started to think everything in turns. Very weird feeling.
Back when he did the GDQ run of TMNF, people were already pointing it out, but this was probably even more clearly just a masterclass in what Wirtual does. Driving at a top 0.1% level of speed and skill while being very eloquent in explaining and being entertaining to the chat.
That TMNF Speedrun was my intro to Wirtual and I still find it hella impressive today. I don't know that there's another GDQ run that has the same level of gameplay and commentary done by a single player.
@@RobinClower I’ve rewatched it like 4 times at this point, it’s just so good
The other speedrun that I find so amazing with performance and explaining alike, is Salvner's Subnautica speedruns. Does somebody know any other speedruns of that style?
@@IroAppe zfg's Ocarina of Time runs are up there for me
To those discovering Deep Dip 2 with this video: the INSANE difficulty doesn't show. You'll find numerous clip on YT to help you get a grasp on how stupidly hard this is.
That or just try to drive it. As a relatively new player it took me 4 hours to reach where Wirtual did in 4 minutes on floor 0. The difficulty is unreal, and watching WR players does not showcase that at all
I don't have a lot of time to follow these DD2 streams but that makes it so that I see progress made very clearly. Amazing to see how some tricks and parts changed with how Wirtual did them before. For example at 9:12, that little climb Wirtual used to do with some weird "S Drift" move, now he drives up like it is a frigging onramp to the Oresund. Or at 16:54 where first he was struggling with the backtires to get up the platform and now he uses the front tires and get's sup much easier. Amazing to see. I hope he reaches the top soon and as (one of) the first to do so.
E
I'm really happy for Wirtual that especially in this speedrun event/showcase he did such a clean run to floor 11, all while explaining a lot of details.
And that is what i often write to "haters" who just bash on him: why exactly do you think he has so many viewers on Twitch?
Yes, nerves get to him more and more. Yes, he's not as consistent as Bren/Lars/Hazard. Yes, he often makes stupid mistakes because he talks to chat.
But despite all of that he's still an extremely good player AND entertainer, so if you're hating him, you're simply just jealous.
Great work, Wirtual!
😅
Having watched all of the edited VODs of DD2, it's insane to see how many hours Wirtual put into just getting to Floor 11 the first time round vs. this time round, where he made it in less than half the time allotted to him. He made weeks of his own sweat and tears look like nothing - this is what mastery looks like.
Trackmania is really the pinnacle of games that look easy to play but is much harder when trying yourself
I only played TM2020 for a few hours, a bit of the training maps and some of seasonal, but even that is enough to realize how hard it really is to control the car and made me appreciate it even more how these top players make it look quite easy. Also, fuck ice! 😅
@@christianstachl True! It is not only a mechanical game, but a knowledge based one aswell. I got to the point where i could get gold on almost all campaign maps expect some reds and almost no blacks. But ice always humbled me, and full speed.
@@ouwle6618
Ice is just so damn precise. Many years ago, during the ps1/2 era, i played a lot of Gran Tourismo 1 and 2. I know the concept of drifting with the countersteering etc, but ice really is something else...
"I dunno how long we've been playing now, probably around 10 minutes"
Timer: 10:03
I got to the start Messi jump.. Couldn't get further than that. Took my a long time to get there each time.
Wirtual: "Ooh, this is a bit sketch ... it works *laughs*"
The Epitome of Wirtual.
No music, just pure grit, determination and skill on display. I never have been this engaged in watching a Trackmania video before.
Editors day off
E
Thanks for the tech explanation - im no TM player but i love watching the best of the best battle each other in any game - and here everyone also kinda helps each other - great competition
looking forward to another highlights video like you did on DD1 - keep it up
Dude you're so fucking good at commentating. The reason why I first subbed to your main channel! Great commentary!
When Wirtual falls from the tower, one could say that he is “in the mayo”
Congrats and well done! What a run to one shot the goal during the event👍
Dude Wirtual really sells it. If I'd never seen Trackmania before this, my mind would be totally blown
Watching you casually explain the map while nailing all those difficult tricks that I saw you struggling with for hours is surreal.
That run in full tutorial mode just one shotting the challenge, nice!
For perspective there should have been like 5 non-Trackmania streamers playing this at the same time. Watching top 0.01% players doesn't give a real idea of how crazy difficult it is. Even when they talk about only 1% of players making it to floor 3.
I have been playing TM for over a decade, maybe 5k hours into it, a huge majority of them in full speed maps on nations forever. It took me almost 100 hours to see the Messi jump. I failed it immediately. Haven’t made it back.
The 360' ice spins looks super wicked!
The most insane tetris effect I've had is when I made a Game of Life simulation and played around with it for a few hours. Even just typing text, like here, would look like the game of life. Each letter spawned in with a game of life style effect. Brains are weird.
I saw a Twitch chat saying: "How do you remember all that?" Bruh, he spent more time on this than me playing Elden ring and Dark souls 3 to platinum them both, that's how
I know you are really good at trackmania but i just got done watching you running deep dip 1 and trying deep dip 2 and this was awesome to watch you breeze through the first 11 floors
Not watched the past 2 or 3 live streams, some of the new lines Wirtual is taking are wild.
49:55 - There is no such think as a glass half empty...
You can have something be half of full (half of the capacity of the container), but something being half of empty, is just empty. Half of nothing is nothing.
You could have something be "emptied half way" though... and filled half way. That works both ways. That depends on if you're emptying or filling (unlike half empty/full).
Or, "half way to being empty" works, but not "half empty".
What’s a few seconds on each level?? Well that’s the difference of a few minutes in the whole run. It doesn’t fully make sense right now because DD2 isn’t finished yet, but once it’s finished, if anyone is trying to hunt the record, those seconds count
The climb finally begins again, lets go Wirt!
"I can't see chat right now"

Please no
Some guy said "16 floors and he's only doing 11?" LMAO
Watched it live, was brilliant!
my boys flying on those early floors just watch him go
That video was great. I almost didn't watch it, because i was like "i've seen you do the first 100 levels a hundred times now", but I'm glad i did because of all the explanations. should change the title to reflect the fact this is a narrated climb with a lot of background info! :)
There is no bigger grind than deep dip. I'm hyped for DD3 tho
dd2 hasn't even ended and you're already hyped?
As far as I'm aware there will be no DD3. Fairly certain they explicitly said that at some point.
They could turn it into a yearly or longer mapping competition where people submit floors and it's halfway between DD1 and 2 in difficulty
There shouldn't be a DD3 I reckon. I think if it was easier than DD2 it'd be seen as a letdown and a bit pointless, but if it were as hard or harder it wouldn't be worth the pain of finishing. So many streamers and players are effectively putting their lives on hold spending maybe 200hrs racing to beat DD2 specifically because it feels like a once-in-a-lifetime event. If it happened every year, the twitch/YT views would be nowhere near as high and frankly the whole 16-floors-no-checkpoints-but-car concept would start to feel like just bad game design
@@joshuawinestock9998 Absolutely. This should be the end of Deep Dip. Other people can make different challenges harping on the same idea but I think trying to one up DD2 would be a huge mistake. This map is already genuinely herculean.
I want to see the deep dip 1 wr now lol
Yeah, me too
1:08 if you look there, he is actually not playing the map, its a recording
its fun to see ppl who arent familiar with it freaking out in the chat
Im pretty sure theres a parallel universe, in which real life formula 1 looks like this.
giving all of the beginner info and explanations about different floors and tricks is really good content. after you finish the whole tower, you should do a dub over a complete run and explain everything in detail.
Started playing trackmania because I was just looking for a good racing game. Anyway, absolutely crushed a smurf nascar session and was in 9th for about 20 seconds. Everyone in the lobby was super impressed, so I'm basically a few weeks off from beating this map too.
Actually mind blowing
Bro ain't no way he one shot this
Immaculate run
was the end cut?
21:11 blo
i legit missed this, when did this happen? i only saw the track showcase
teaching and being entertaining to show how much he loves his audience, even under pressure.
It would be nice if you finish deep dip 2 to play it again with the sound on from this map. I find it cool the speach. Like an adventure.
Good God it has no walls.
Semi-related if I wanted to get into this game is the 2020 free version the one to use? Or the one Wirtual is using?
Get the pass for clubs, tbh. The cheapest of the two(?). Its not a must but it gives infinite content and community.
@@Fomlefantastic Thanks for the help!
After Deep Dip 2 has been conquered, it would be interesting if someone edited it so one can get through it just holding down the up arrow.

Whyd it cut off like that?
Wirtual was completely switched on for this run
Bro was turned on 🙂↕️
Can someone please tell me what the first message was at around 36:00 minutes that chat is going on and on about? It's driving me insane not knowing lol
i love when wirtual fills me up with such good content 😋
🤨
Most of what you just said is crazy asf. Choosing another way to say your thoughts would be a good idea in the future.
@@xavier4542 Wirtual satisfies me every night, and I love to watch him do it.
@@xavier4542 In case you didn't know, Wirtual said he wish people do proper comment rather than, an example he gave is, the exact as the OP's comment. Now we'll see this sentence for a while as viewer meme-ing it.
lole!! 😄😊😁, 😂!
Quack.
Or as Wirtual says "Quock".
What the hell is this?! The skill level of these Players is out of this wordl!?
I want to hear a non-Wirtual viewer's opinion on this segment. As a Wirtual enjoyer its just a fantastic YT video with a lot of additional more beginner-focused commentary and its great
when did this stream happen, how did i miss it
i havent seen he video but it’s probably gonna be great!
24 minutes to finish floor 1 to 10... 😅
Very impressed!
I did wonder why no more videos lately. Get better soon Wirt
Would it be good or bad to have Deep Dip 3 upping the difficulty level but with checkpoints, one per floor or maybe one every second floor? I feel player's interest has dipped (no pun intended) and we only have those playing seriously that were destined to get price money anyways.
It would shorten the event and maybe keep more engaged to the end.
you should do half a cent for every fall
Sometimes Wirtual sounds like a dentist operating on my mouth.
Looks too good to be wirtual playing!
6am upload is crazy
So I was attending a speedrun event where I got this run
Wirtual måste vara den enda snälla Norrmannen som finns
I would love to try DD2 but it cannot download on my console (PS4), I can play DD1 and DD2 Shallow so I have plenty to work on but this is so challenging I'll be aged 174 before I complete any of them
I thought everyone was chanting my name in the chat but then I remembered this was not live and I am not the correct Joel 🙃
So he did give up beating deep dip 2??
when is the next Deep dip 2 abridged series episode, did you stop doing them? they used to come out daily
dd3 will be a menace
What has Wirtual been???
Sick. He has been sick
Wirtual has been Mufat.
When’s the next deep dip stream?
He has been streaming for 2 days already, where u been?
@@UncleP4pr1k4Did he quit streaming on youtube then? The last stream here was 5 days ago.
Can you talk about how this level was uploaded? As a non-Trackmania player and someone who just got obsessed with your videos and Deep Dip 2, do the creators have to beat a Trackmania level to upload it, a la Mario Maker? If so, how was this done?
The mappers validated each floor separately to show it was possible.
You can use cheats to fake an author time and/or upload an unvalidated map. Can be used illegitimately to put an impossible author time or upload an impossible map, but there are legitimate usecases (like with deep dip 2)
Is he not climbing the last bit of the tower anymore?
I can't even see the intended path on regular maps half the time let alone a monstrosity like this.
Love how skilled people make nonsense like this look "easy".
"Wirtual - Trackmania The Dip" they cant even put the right map name.
14:14 why not backwards?
Should cut the map into sections creating lots of little tracks for campaigns to see if collectivly those shorts WRs beat the normal one
If people could focus on small parts of the track. Surley would find lots of small time saves that could add up
Until the track is competed by someone, the competitions’ rules include “no single level practicing”. The first completion of the map must be in one shot. People who are attempting to seriously complete the map are not going to break the rule, even if they easily can. Names will be remembered if they did it publicly.
20:33 - can someone explain the wait until RPM reaches 0 thing please?
It's another gear issue. After moving in reverse, if you instantly go forward it takes time for the car to switch so you have less acceleration.
Makes gearing predictable
@@ghislainbugnicourt3709 Thanks for the explanation.. this is just another reason why I can't wrap my head around trackmania.. it has so many "realistic" elements that I feel like the car should behave in accordance with physics, then this (which makes absolutely no sense, as high rev engines have far more power in the mid/high band than on dead start 😕
bro oneshots it with so many people watching no top trackmania player but him could do this
Maybe I missed the explanation, but I thought individually-checkpointed floors as practice maps were forbidden? So how are they doing world records on floors already
The mapping team have officially released the first 10 floors themselves, so it’s all good. But it is forbidden to have practice maps of anything above that. The first 10 floors are now considered ‘solved’ by the top players so there’s no threat to competitive integrity by letting people practice. But the top players will still have to solve the rest without practice maps.
But you are right that all practice maps were forbidden at the beginning.
@@QuillMerchant Oh ok cool that makes sense thank you
21:10 uhm........freeze frame?
Has he given up on dd2?
Did you stop trying dd2
