When I first got Heart's Dreamboat Annie album in '76, I was 13 yrs old and totally smitten by these two. Ann's off the charts vocals and Nancy's guitar could be heard down the street as I jammed to their music on my Mom's turntable before she got home from work. They transitioned well from the 70s and into the "big hair" era of the 80s. Ann & Nancy have to be the best female rock artists ever.
Absolute rock. I feel so lucky to identify with 1970s Heart music. No band in the 2020s compare in any way to this majestic awesome artistic expression. I feel sorry for my millennial kids that mostly listen to today’s basic garbage music, no talent, originality, message. God bless groups like Heart in their early days in the 1970s. Pure music.

Just astonishing how effortlessly Ann’s vocals come out of her body. Not even the slightest whiff of bad pitch either. And in these days she was competing with all of the instruments for volume and all she had were some floor monitors. Probably side fills too. How did she not blow her voice out? It’s baffling to me.
Ann’s Longevity is due to the fact that she is a serious artist, trained and worked many hours to develop the proper vocal techniques. Most singers are lazy, only doing the bare minimum of training, not Ann

One of the greatest rock singers ever - period. Forget female or male whatever. The power, tone and precision in her voice is incredible. I can clearly see the influence of Heart on the Seattle grunge scene in Soundgarden and Alice in Chains. Both bands have had super powerful singers who definitely took a leaf out of Anne Wilson’s book.

I can't believe I had the honor of watching these ladies play! Can't ignore the drummer, they were almost always in the background. I was about 14 years old. My sister & I thought they were "older women", lol. Now I'm 62! They were inspirational.
This is the REAL shit. This song blew my mind way back, when I was only 11 or so -- it scared me with its unapologetic fuck you intensity. Nothing's changed.
And yes, god yes -- hot. This is real female in your face sexuality, in the most authentic, powerful way. Not like the stuff out there today. PJ Harvey is one of the (brilliant) exceptions.

At the very least I guess it's a "studio live", without audience, and with several takes until a good enough one is obtained. Then the individual instruments tracks can be patched afterwards with individual takes in studio. Many famous live albums have been produced like that (Kiss Alive, Iron Maiden Live After Death...), it's not uncommon.
If they ever make a biopic of Heart I swear if they try to have any actor sing rather than Ann's vocals, I'll revolt!!!! She is one of a kind, and in my opinion the best female vocalist of ALL TIME!!!!

Even that deep growling guitar riff was unique, even compared to Judas Priest and Black Sabbath. It was raw, organic, simple, and very very catchy. Adding Ann Wilson's vocal range, and power, to the mix (which no other female at that time could even come close to), again, I'd say that was revolutionary. Even to this day - mid 2023 no female vocalist can compare to it.

Ann's voice may have been the very best in Rock. Fisher delivered searing guitar and the live concerts like this were amazing. Nancy made me fall in love with her and her righteous guitar stage moves dancing and jumping around on stage. Her appearance as "Firebird" girl in Fast Times @ RH solidified her as a rock goddess !

Two absolute badass rock and roll maidens. Man, " ...a-DAAAAAANCE! " when she hits that power note, decades later it's still impressive. What a voice! I saw them live in the early 80s, they were as good as you wanted them to be and then some, they killed it! So good!
