I remember driving down the road in my 1967 Mustang in 1977 and this song came on the radio. I knew I was listening to the greatest song ever written. Yes my humble opinion.
The only problem I ever had with the song it is has an ending . . . .

When I first got Heart's Dreamboat Annie album in '76, I was 13 yrs old and totally smitten by these two. Ann's off the charts vocals and Nancy's guitar could be heard down the street as I jammed to their music on my Mom's turntable before she got home from work. They transitioned well from the 70s and into the "big hair" era of the 80s. Ann & Nancy have to be the best female rock artists ever.

Absolute rock. I feel so lucky to identify with 1970s Heart music. No band in the 2020s compare in any way to this majestic awesome artistic expression. I feel sorry for my millennial kids that mostly listen to today’s basic garbage music, no talent, originality, message. God bless groups like Heart in their early days in the 1970s. Pure music.

@@--pussypatroll-- Sabbath already had multiple albums and like you said Judas Priest. Both being heavier than Heart. Metal really got its start in the early 70s. Women singing in rock wasn’t new either although i’ll agree Heart probably had the heaviest sound with a female at the front. I think this is a great song but i think it just combines a few already popular things at the time into one.

    • @--pussypatroll--
      @--pussypatroll-- ปีที่แล้ว

@@BLINC606 My point is: it hadn't been done before this. Heart were the first. From my understanding, anything done first is usually considered revolutionary. Even that deep growling guitar riff was unique, even compared to Judas Priest and Black Sabbath. It was raw, organic, simple, and very very catchy. Adding Ann Wilson's vocal range, and power, to the mix (which no other female at that time could even come close to), again, I'd say that was revolutionary. Even to this day - mid 2023 no female vocalist can compare to it.
