Caboose's voice has a different timbre (it sounds sort of forced), and he tends to speak in straight, disconnected notes (as opposed to notes that slide up or down, and join up).

I'm only 17 and I've had 2 kidney stones, the first one was the easy one, huge pain in the right side for a few hours and that was it, the second one was the 2nd biggest pain I've ever experienced, signs started days before the initial side pain, started with testicle pain, stopped for a couple days, testicle pain again and a lot of pain in my right side again, thing is 2nd one was so big it wasn't able to pass on it's own, thought the procedure was gonna get rid of the pain, oh boy how I was wrong, the first couple days after the procedure the pain was much worse than the stones to the point I threw up a couple times just from the pain from peeing
This story is gonna hurt every guy.

LordMexican Well guess what, I almost had enough testicular torsion in my left nut when I was in 3rd grade that I would have to get surgery if it got worse. I may not have gone through surgery because it wasn’t to that stage, but imagine how terrifying it would be for an eight year old to learn he may lose a sperm sack before he is even remotely close to hitting puberty, much less about what that sack is for. I will say though the pain felt like a needle had pierced that half of the sack completely and the slightest movement brought pain.

Joel is awesome. I'll be honest, when I took first responder classes, I remember them saying to try and distract our patients to make things easier (such as putting a dislocation back). But I do agree with Joel that it is lying (even if it is for the greater good).

Oh man I have gone through this experience. It's horrifying. When the doctor went in for the kill, I cried out and asked him to stop. He was already about a metre in by that time and I remember him saying the same thing "Don't contract your muscles". 😢

When I was 16, I had an Ingrown toenail in my big toe and I made the mistake of watch the doctor cut and claw into a HEAVILY SWOLLEN TOE and it is one of the most painful experiences of my life, worse than when I broke my ankle.

Joel’s medical stories during this podcast still haunts me to this day.
All I can think about how girls have to do Pap smears, where they literally scrape the inner walls of the vagina. Ladies have to get it regularly, I hear it's really painful for a lot of women. Some I know couldn't move for a few days, then there's pain after that. Maybe the medical industry should try more to make the uncomfortable and painful procedures less...well terrible for the patient.

Not always errrr willingly xD (instinctively 'tightening up' to try prevent entry) Also the insertion / removal of an IUD [intrauterine device] without any painkillers? -10/10 can't recommend.
Ok this is a few months old but i wanna chime in. It’s not the Paps that hurt, theres no scraping involved, only swabbing. The pain women experience when having paps is a condition called vaginismus- muscle spams when something is inserted into the vagina, in this case it would be the speculum that’s used to keep the vagina/vulva open.
But that pain is totally different from having a tube stuck up your urethra- which is both uncomfortable for men and women.

I know exactly what Joel was talking about. When I was 15, I had to have a similar experience as I had a kidney stone that had to be removed manually. They put a stent in me during the procedure that thankfully I was knocked out for. But...it had to come out eventually.

I can relate to this. I’ve just had my 10th kidney stone (I get them hereditary) and I’ve had them go in and pull a stent out of my wobbly bits and it’s not fun at all

They stick a tube in the urethra to test whether or not you have a kidney reflux. And a large portion of the women in my family have either bilateral kidney reflux or just on the right side. Shit hurts! Regardless of how out of it you are, that shit is imprinted in you memory. So a few women feel your pain Joel.
