Usually in that situation, the mugger will have a script in their head of how the interaction will go, so disrupting that script was definitely the best thing Miles could've done there.

no that's just life man. its usually what happens when you go outside. im not having a go haha its just I see these comments all the time and I guarantee you random shit like this has happened to a lot of people. not necessarily getting mugged but a wide assortment of funny situations

While driving home from work one time last summer I saw a guy in a green screen suit, you know those things that cover your whole body even your face, he had a cape on too and was riding a skate board. It was one of the weirdest freakin things I've seen.

being oblivious or a bit 'slow' mixed with awkwardness comes in handy sometimes. one time at a job I had, a wallet was turned in and I dealt with it appropriately and had a manager witness it all, but a couple days later I was asked multiple times about it. every time I repeated my story and laughed it off. three days later I found out I was being questioned because a coworker stole the money inside it. never even realized something was wrong. if I had known/realized money was stolen from it I definitely would've panicked and messed up my story.
Speaking as a Seattle-goer, people at Pike Place are just that weird that they will sell you a knife so they can catch the bus.
For what reason did Blaine have to go to downtown Dallas when he was little? I guess we'll never know.

This is when you go "sorry man, I already have a knife, I don't need your's" and pull a bigger knife out of your pocket
What you do is you give him $5 for his knife, then turn his own knife on him and mug him for the $5 you just gave him.
That way you get to keep your money and you got a knife for free.

I had a aimilar experience with a guy at South Station in Boston only he didn't pull a knife he just did the my wallet got stolen and I need to get home bit, against my better judgements, my concience won and I gave him a few bucks. What's worse that that was the second guy who I gave money to, the other one actually helped me get to my bus back in manhattan so it was only fair, in fact I was gonna tip him anyway thinking he helps out people for some extra cash.
But what did Blaine have to go downtown for?
I had a guy when i was chilling in the Walmart parking lot late at night came up to my car pulled out his pocket knife asking that he needs 10$ ill give you this for a trade. I was freaked out said dont have cash. To be honest really didnt but Like c'mon its 21st century no adult really carries cash anymore

I forgot all about this video but it just reminded me a dude came up to me and said excuse me excuse me sir oh I need a few bucks to catch the bus and all I have is this knife do you think you can give me some money he pulled the knife out on me and the second the blade was out i pulled a knife out and I had it against his cheek it freaked the guy out he dropped his knife and asked me what are you doing man and I told him oh I’m trying to sell my knife and that was his cue he knew if he didn’t leave he was going to be in a lot of pain the guy turned with the knife still on his cheek and ran Moral of the story don’t pull a knife on me because you’re gonna be the one with a knife pulled on you And I do know what happened to the guy I saw him a day after that and he avoided me and then the day after that I saw him sleeping underneath a bridge overpass and I went to wake him up it freaked him out so badly he screamed I told him to calm down and I asked him what he was doing and why all that went down and he said I was just trying to sell my knife to get a few bucks and it made me feel a little bad so I gave him two $20s and walked away with a new pocket knife but the moral of the story is make sure you draw your blade quicker than the other person because it will put them in a state of shock to where they forget what they’re going to do and it’ll make them terrified me being able to get my knife out of my pocket at the speed I did i was able to save my life more than once so my recommendation to stay safe in case of a mugging is make sure your speed is really great train yourself with your quick draw of a knife or a gun see how fast you can pull it out and get it ready do it every day until you’re comfortable enough to do it without even Knowing you did it recommend Time to get a gun or knife out of a pocket or holster is in the matter of a second get your hand to where you have it and pull it out as fast as you can if you do a quick enough your life will always be safe And when my little story took place was a year and a half ago I was walking to the gas station when all this happened
