Definitely not a one trick pony
Amazing to see how Jim RELISHES singing it , look at him he really is still SO into it and he would have performed it 100's of times at that stage that blatant relish just gives the whole thing that extra wow factor and we know we bear witness to something INCREDIBLE
From what I understand, Jim was shy and often sang with eyes closed. At the very beginning he wouldn't even face the audience while performing. I think your "into it" was actually booze or something else, plus his shyness.
Very right guys! But I stil keep Ray as the best because the simple and incredible band he had! No much instruments like Pink Floyd had alive or any other band....but they are all great!
WAKE UP! ...as Jim said again and again. If you're going to comment, then inform yourself. The Doors were not hippies or a "hippie band". Jim despised hippies, and saw them as leeches on society. ...Thrilled to see all the footage with him imploring the audience to wake up to life. It's more fitting now than ever.
He wasn't a drug addict. Inform yourself. He was sadly, genetically alcoholic. Calling him "a drunk" indicates that you don't understand alcoholism. It's also an extremely antiquated way of viewing what we now know to be a genetic predisposition. Perhaps it's better to be grateful that you don't have it, or perhaps you do, or it's in your family. Why does his tragedy anger you? He passed 42 years ago. What's the anger about? He was brilliant.
Your opinion. he was a drunk and a drug addict. You first choose to drink and take drugs then you become addicted then they say you have a disease. Anger? That,s your imagination. He called himself an accidental musician. He thought poorly of himself.

The Doors and Jim Morrison--one of the best ever. There's a timeless quality to their music. Never copied because the poetic aspect of the lyrics, and his voice, are unique.
I think Jim was haunted by his own intelligence and creativity. That would explain his need for an escape. His look and everything he did examplified art in its most raw and beautiful form. Rest in Peace friend to all.
I’m not a huge fan but they definitely get the award for originality in the art rock genre. Genuine provocateurs, with exceptional execution in all facets of rock and roll pantology.
Jim's otherworldly vocals as always. Robbie goin off on the guitar to give it some spice. Ray the backbone holding the signature doors sound. And how about John's drumming especially at the end. Reasons this band will always be my favorite.
never noticed just how cool that little finishing flourish at the end is by John Densmore - man the doors knew how to construct a tune. Each band member was a piece of genius. Combined they are phenomenol.
"Back Door Man" is a blues song written by Willie Dixon for Howlin' Wolf, released by Chess Records as a B-side to Wolf's "Wang Dang Doodle" in 1961 (catalog no. 1777). The song is considered a classic of Chicago blues. Just found that
Man, what talent! Even when Morrison seems incoherent he sings better than anyone current. "I eat more chicken than a man ever seen", dam right Jim. RIP
Jim was such a cool looking individual. The chicks dug him and the guys wanted his voice. I've always wanted his voice, such raw power and emotion mixed with talent. Hats off to an amazing set of musicians and people.

that voice, it brings you shiver throughout your body ... ecstasy and sorrow, lust for life, an irresistible desire, for what you can taste and do... Robby Krieger is so underrated, man. I think I subconsiously try to play like him all the time. He's such a legend, I mean, what a bad-ass. Then, one could say that about each and every one of The Doors. Like the Beatles, they're inseperable.
Delusions of grandeur? The man was clearly all the adjectives you can find for "grandeur". He was young, beautiful, gorgeous, rich. He had all the girls he wanted. It's not a delusion, it's a fact.

Far and away the best version of this song, you really can't go back to the original after this, though Howlin Wolfs original versions are still bangers.
The Doors invented ALTERNATIVE music. Was it jazz, was it rock, was it blues, were the lyrics poetry or epic or blather, was he a crooner or a screamer? Well, it's all that, perfectly balanced, and concentrated in only a five year span. Musical gods at the very least.
The back door is excellent. The front is too. Even a side one will do. I love the Doors and they rock no matter which Door. They rock it tight and they rock it true.
Good God! Jim could belt out a tune. What a voice. The brilliance of The Doors lives on.
This might be one of the best versions of this song that I've heard...So chill and puts you in a trance almost. Really unique.

All four of them, genius musicians. The Doors; the greatest band of all time. Jim Morrison's voice, absolutely breathtaking.
Great artist on a downward spiral. Grabbed life by the balls and made a bigger impact in a scant few years than most people do in a lifetime.
Coulda had more to say…
Jim had an incredible rock voice! The doors are legendary!!
Robby Krieger: probably the most underrated guitarist in rock history.
