Jim Morrison was one of the first to both touch and inspire me in my yondering days as a lad. Here I am in September of 2024 and I cannot believe that I have survived this long!! I was there for the love, the energy, the drugs and the madness that we embraced in the 60's and 70's into the 80's. We had something Really Special but all genius is touched with insanity as Jim's life will bear out and it was left up to us to find our way through the maze. They said Morrison was a genius and so he was as expressed in his music. Jim didn't make it, but I will see him on the other side soon-and I won't be late. Джим Моррисон бесконечно талантлив, красив и не подражаем. Слушаю его и люблю с 1972 года. Браво ему и группе Дорз. Они лучшие. Спасибо Джиму за его стихи, песни и музыку.
I saw Morrison perform this song with the Doors in 1968 at the old Boxing Arena in Philadelphia while he faced a huge American flag permanently affixed to the wall of that venue. The cops were so angry at the blatant political implications (plus the adoration of the women in the audience), it looked as if they were going to explode with fury. The ticket prices that night ranged from $3.00 - 5.00 (tops!).
I've been in love with Jim Morrison and The Doors since I was twelve. I know now I will still be listening as an old lady. I'm 35 and the emotions STILL come every time i listen!!!
One of Morrison's best songs --- really captures his ambivalence about the love street movement. He saw the lack of drive and aimless future, yet he still yearned for and cried out for that coming together, just "One more time....."
It took me a long time to realize that many of Jim Morrison's lyrics and poetry were about life and death. Jim Morrison was a genius poet, one of greatest poets of all time.

Have been a Doors fan for as long as I can remember. Jim lived on the edge and tested the boundaries of life, reality and the status quo. Yes, he died way to young but his impact will last forever. No one gets out of Alive. If we are lucky, we might be somewhat sane when we all break on through to the other side.

Hands down, still one of the best rock tunes. I believe I ever heard. I can still remember the first time I heard Morrison I was too young to understand everything he was trying to convey to the world at large. As I grew up and began to understand what he was trying to say to all of us. I learned to appreciate the singer, who became the legend.

If you are interested in knowing more about "The Doors" I recommend you read the book "No One Gets out of here alive", written by their former manager. The Doors are my one of my all time favorite bands, I'm of that generation. As a matter of fact in the summer of 1967 and 68 I dated a Miami University student. I was an au pair in Westport Ct, (from Denmark) and Jeff was back in Westport, his home town for the summer. Many years later I found out he was at the famous Miami concert, where Jim was arrested, and my friend was a witness at his trial. My friend was a photographer and he took a foto of Jim with a baby lamp, that ended up in the book "No one gets out of here alieve".
'Your ballroom days are over babe Night is drawing near Shadows of the evening Crawl across the years You walk across the floor With your flower in your hand Trying to tell me no one understands Trading your hours For a handful of dimes ' 🖤 Get together one more time Get together one more time '
In Jim's works I e believe the better he got the more he planned his own demize..the messages are in his learicks I knew it was comeing I hated it but jim was telling .it like iti was it no one was listening but I was loud and clear
Too much garbage today. No good raw music any more. Just over-produced hacks like Bieber, Miley, etc, folks nobody will be talking about in thirty-forty years -unlike the Doors, Hendrix, Janice. I was in grade school in the 60s so I wasn't aware of any of this at the time. I came of age with David Cassidy and the like. My husband says the Doors were very popular with the GI's when he was in Vietnam....

And the all stood up and clapped...
James Douglas. There is not and not to be anything like Him. My Idol, My Man. Jim.
I have been a fan for years. I read his biography many many years ago. His poetry books were a bit off kilter. But I do love the Doors!!!
Artists ether burn out or fade away.... Jim said Fuck that!
Ahaha.

sexiext man who ever lived...sorry Elvis......MY FAV FRONT MAN EVER ....!!!
The Doors blow away any artist out there. It's hard to believe music totally sucks today.
i concur
I think u sucked and want to live in childhood ..so stfu
it's all a business now, most artists are controlled by money and fame not artistic integrity--Jim wouldn't sell out, Doors never lost their vision--this is why they have sold 100 million plus albums--they are still relevant
Best front man by far, banned from Woodstock
@@pakistan-fatherofindia113 What are YOU doing on a Doors video?
The tradition of many Native American Tribes was that there feet would never leave the Earth...

Poet crazy and clown but the king of rock … forever James Douglas Morrison the lizard king 🇺🇸🇺🇸☺️
Sweet Jim, gave us the beautiful , everlasting music !! I love “The Doors”. 💋🌈❤️.
"i dont know how its gunna go, but i know i'm going to get my kicks, before this shit house goes up in flames"-j. morrison

"Gonna win and we're Taking Over..." - Yes, 'we' are, JIM!!!
One of the best (perhaps 1 of the 5 best social commentary songs of the 1960s).
'Your ballroom days are over babe
Night is drawing near
Shadows of the evening
Crawl across the years
You walk across the floor With your flower in your hand
Trying to tell me no one understands
Trading your hours For a handful of dimes ' 🖤
Get together one more time
Get together one more time '

Jim is my biggest hero, wrote 450 poems before he went 27 years. Now at 46 Iyears old I can almos be on his terms. I have written 350 poems.
Legends never die, what a blessing to the world man….
Grande , indimenticabile Jm Morrison
They don't make em like this anymore.
Agree
Too much garbage today. No good raw music any more. Just over-produced hacks like Bieber, Miley, etc, folks nobody will be talking about in thirty-forty years -unlike the Doors, Hendrix, Janice. I was in grade school in the 60s so I wasn't aware of any of this at the time. I came of age with David Cassidy and the like. My husband says the Doors were very popular with the GI's when he was in Vietnam....
There's plenty, you just gotta look in the right places...
UserName0043 cage the elephant!!!

Saw them do this, and others, at a show at what is now the national tennis center in Flushing in '68. The Who opened.
Omg you're so lucky.
