Thank you Antonio. I’ve stepped up my style game after many years of going more casual and rugged. That said, I still like more natural fabrics like cotton, silk, modal, and rayon. Collars & Co polo’s with the dress collar are all ploy/spandex. Have you tried their Maranello cotton/silk blend to know how structured their collars are?

I'm almost 39. I work in a field that generally sees 18-24 year olds. I look 20 so it's easy enough to blend in, but I don't like the ultra casual style everyone around me wears. It's a tricky balancing act to want to dress up without looking dressed up, and these sweaters with collared shirts, untucked and sticking out the bottom a bit, seem to be the right choice for me

Nice video. Just not a fan of using a zip sweater with a shirt and tie. You are better off with a blazer or sport jacket. Like all style, some guys can pull it off effortlessly and others can’t. Just a matter of preference.

I've never been much of a fan of combining a blazer or sports jacket with a tie. Or with a sweater, for that matter. I think it's a must for suits, but only then. Having said that, a cravate and blazer or sports jacket is a good choice. Through my eyes, anyway.

@@PietervdvIf I wear some kind layer over my shirt, it's almost always in combination with a tie. Shirt withouth jacket or sweater: very casual. Without tie is ok.
But clothes would be boring if everybody were to dress the same. Cravate? Great, too. But I only have 2 or 3 because I hardly ever wear them. Or do I hardly ever wear them because I only have so few? Who knows... 😂

Imo a lot of the advice from this video can apply to adding jackets, especially in regards to contrast in fabric and color.
Personally I think two looks can work really well when it comes to sweaters and jackets.
One is the more casual, but more visually striking look of a turtleneck sweater with a suit, maybe throw in a draped scarf in the mix. In this case it can be fun to play with contrast a lot, for example one of my university professors was wearing a muted red turtleneck with a gray prince of wales pattern suit, with a beige scarf. He pulled it off great, but I wouldn't recommend it for more formal settings.
The look I tend to go more for is a v neck sweater, with a tie underneath and either a sport coat and trousers or either way a more casual suit. I'd recommend heavier wool fabrics as the goal with this look is to make the sweater almost look like a part of the suit, still maintaining a bit of contrast, but overall maintaining a sense of cohesiveness. For example I have this olive green patterned sport coat, dark green velvet pants and an olive green v-neck sweater. I added a tie with earthy tones and an olive green paisley pocket square in a puff fold and the look was great, very elegant, definitely a bit more formal than the previous look. All of the pieces were a bit different from one another in terms of colors and fabrics, but they were close enough to form a cohesive look

Other than that, I'd agree with everything in this video. I have the blue quarter-zip shown at 7:40, (or something close to it from C&C), as well as the the shirt on the left. I find that if I'm layering, I tend to go with a white shirt and a colored sweater, so I don't have to think much about it. The shot at 8:30 is great, because the tie's color and pattern mesh with the sweater's so perfectly.

I'm never a fan of having collars of the same length touching in outfits. Having the collar on the shirt and a popped collar on the sweater is too much visual bulk around the neck. It gets to be a little too Steve Bannon. It's fine to have a collared shirt with something like a crew neck, but as soon as your sweater has a collar I don't think a collared shirt belongs under it.
