Thank you! I've fallen once a month for the last 5 months. Also I've had sciatica and pain in both hips. These exercises really help.

I’ve been doing these every morning at senior center. I have psoriatic arthritis and have taken a number of falls. Thus far, haven’t gotten hurt, but want to avoid this.

I have tinnitus since very little. I'm 80 now, but praise the Lord, my health is good enough. Only I have COPD and osteoporosis, but I still can walk 5000 or more steps. Will you please give me some advice? I live at some distances from you., around 20 hour flight.

Contracting at the umbilicus (sucking in the belly) helps to maintain balance on one leg.

I live alone, retired end of October but fell and broke wrist end of September. I have cerebellar ataxia due to removal of a large tumor in left cerebellum. I have had lots of PT recently but I think these are the better exercises. Thank you.

The hip abduction exercise and the weight shift look similar. What is the difference please?
I like this teacher. He is kind and calm. Thank you.

The one for your hips: you lift the leg as high as comfortable to exercise the hip joint. So if your hip joint is getting stiff it will help that. For the other one, you balance first on one foot and then on the other. It should help prevent falls.

@@karenzilverberg4699 so the single leg standing and the weight shift have the same benefi: to strengthen the legs. So, what is the difference between the two? Can I just choose one instead of exercising both of them? Thank you.

Hello, No, those are two different exercises with different effects. They are not interchangeable. The weight shift helps you relearn to weight shift and doesn't improve strength. In the other exercise you stand straight and raise your leg up in the air, that one is for hip abductor strength. They are different but will both be beneficial to perform.
