What do you do after the physical installation? Just boot up the CFW from the sd card? That easy?

What a clean install? Very very well done!
anyone seeing this in 2022 you will need a microscope usb type to successfully do this install. i did it originally without a microscope and my soldering points on the surface mount resistors looked good to the eye, well one day my chip stopped working so i took it apart and used a USB scope and i saw that two of my joints were cold joints and were loose, the chip worked for a while like that but it was not correct. you need a usb scope that can zoom at least 100x and preferably 500x or more so you can see at a near microscopic level and make sure you have solid joints onto those resistors. it is a very very complex job and amateurs should not attempt this install at all.
I did it with just a magnifying glass lol came out legit

@@kingovo1687 when you figure out how to do it , if it was easy it would be done.
@@kingovo1687 they won't considering what you have to connect too there's no real way for it to be "plug and play" they could add the c wire from the emmc adapter to the other piece but that just saves one step of soldering and makes it harder to maneuver
As someone who's not even an amateur I'm gonna attempt it myself and I'ma live stream me attempting it lol I payed $40 for a brand new OLED specifically to try this

Hello, do I need to clean all the thermal paste around the tiny tabs that the modchip gets soldered onto?
Does the device boots normally if you don't connect the mod chip with the cables, if the cables are already soldered in place?
My mod chip is installed and the led glowed for 2 seconds and went off right after and never turned back on. But my display is not starting. The backlight works but not picture.
So should the device boot normal if the cables are soldered but the chip is not connected?
//Edit: ok so everything is installed and the device boots regularly. But the mod chip doesn't blink at all. I checked the values against ground an everything is attached and has a value. Can you help me troubleshoot? Anything I can measure or check if the chip is functional?
did you flash the modchip beforehand? it may have been lacking firmware
@@lulledart in the end I did one solder joint incorrect and this caused this mess. After fixing this the chip works and still does

Can you choose what the switch boot into after installing this chip into a V2 model? I have digital online games I would like to still play. So I would like to play using Stock sysMMC.
Basically what does the switch boot into:
CFW - sysMMC
CFW - emuMMC
Stock - sysMMC
yea you can do that basically on every mod chip

XKJ and XKW need v2 hwfly
XAW patched and others need v1 hwfly
if u have XAW you might be able to just do with rcm jig

if i use the latest gnx package can i go straight to the official base release to see if my firmware is above unlocking? Or could there be some risk? , after doing that, can I reserve it to backup and build? or is it better to wait for the new firmware to unlock?

Uso flux amigo eso hace que lansoldadura agarre mejor , pero yo tengo una duda espero me puedas o me puedan ayudar , ya vieron que pone el flexor que soldo y que encierra en ps1 un resistencia y en otro que es ps2 encierra otra resistencia y ahi solda ,pero mi duda es tapo toda la resistencia completa con soldadura tanto la ps1 y la ps2?? V2 switches are patched, so it means it cant be modded thru sd card. I guess with chip it can be done

thats only installed when you're going to update the firmware on the chip
Can some kind commenter help me to know what I do after installing the chip? Do I need to turn the device on RCM mode and inject the Hekate payload or is booting the modchip gonna do that for me (if I have it on my SD card), and I only need to turn on autorcm in the settings?
The Modchip itself boots hekate, so no autoRCM needed as there is no payload to be injected
The payload is sent to the switch via the modchip, there is nothing else you need to do

Never directly touch the PCB as your finger can seriously damage the board via electrostatic discharge.

False, you have to "touch the ground" before start working to normalize your static charge... Or you can discharge all the condensators by power on the console while the batteries is disconnected.
While you can kill parts by electrostatic discharge in theory, it's actually damn hard to do in practice.

Any switch is compatible that’s why you use a mod chip
modchip is very expensive because not made anymore and very rare to find, better buy non patched model and use cfw certified better than modchip

Buy an RCM loader w/ RCM jig. Turn off your Switch, slide the jig into the right rail, connect RCM loader into the USB-C port, press Volume Down and POWER button at the same time and you should load to Hekate. And just launch to your CFW. (WARNING: TURN OFF YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION TO AVOID BANNED CONSOLE)
ayo if its unpatched u got lucky look dont get the HWFLY you wont need it all u need is a RCM Jig and TegraRCM with the payload most is free jig u can make it or buy it up to you if u dont want to risk smaller chips or flakes on pins buy a jig its around 1€ to 5€
and watch a youtube tutorial just search Nintendo Switch RCM tutorial u should come across one to your liking also make sure the files u use are for your version

What what this allows you to do is add a emmc emulator for the homebrew stuff and you can keep the normal firmware how it is and that's what you'd use if you still wanna play games online etc, you can use internet with the homebrew stuff I just suggest not playing online games unless in the normal firmware

@@kokoblokoFPV the switch turns on after about a minute with the purple led, but without unlocking and without sd card. if it was burnt, it shouldn't call, right? In the solder it presents communication between the points, the problem could be the chip? And if the chip was working he wouldn't see turn on without sd card, right?
