I shared the video of your interaction Dallin H Oaks with my Bishop noting how much it bothered me and fundamentally compared with President Clinton trying to weasel out of answering the ground jury. He bore his testimony in response. Shortly thereafter I watched the 15 hours of Robert K Ritner's (RIP) interview with MSP concerning The Book of Abraham "translation" and ultimately told him & my wife that I did not believe the truth claims of the Church and didn't see the leadership capable of being honest with the history. My Stake President was a stopping point, not a pass questions up the food chain so on that level I have explained my position to a member of the High Council. Thank you again for your outstanding work / help with the claims of the Church.

Used to believe in it. Been in that great and spacious conference center many times. Served my mission as a service missionary at the church motion picture studio. It all makes me sick now. I live in mormon central in Utah. Been in my ward for 15 years. A year ago, I asked to be released from my calling and told my bishop I was done with the church. Haven't had any contact at all with any members who were my "friends".

But it was many years later when Joseph changed that Doctrine. Weird thing to do if you've seen them...
When I was investigating, the only time Jesus was ever truly mentioned was at the end of a prayer. For every hundred times Joseph Smith was mentioned, Jesus was was mentioned maybe once or twice.
So, in following Kevin Hamilton's direction, I now say "isn't it exciting that the Savior bought a $174m warehouse in Florida" or "isn't it great that Jesus Christ uses Kirton McConkie to protect his corporate interests from sexual abuse claims and to negotiate victim pay-offs." This is one of the reasons why the Mormon church is referred to as an "Atheist making machine". Only the Mormon church makes Jesus and the church synonymous and inseparable, so once the belief in church ends, the belief in Jesus also ends. Also, no other church so adamantly claims that every other religion is false. So once belief in Mormonism ends, belief in all religions often end too.
Which is just so sad because what we truly need is Jesus, not a church, especially one that comes as a sheep in wolf’s clothing. I am a member but just hearing all this is sickening. I did have a witness from the Holy Spirit that this is the restored gospel despite all the crap that has gone on. It really truly sickens me and I hope things will be resolved because the Spirit made it clear to me, and no it wasn’t the angel of light aka satan. I really feel heartbroken and confused about the church even despite my witness. With that being said, I know I can consult with the Spirit and ask for truth to be poured out on to me and I know it will be. The leaders make it so abundantly clear that we need to receive our own personal revelation and it couldn’t be more needed at a time like this of exposing of the church’s doings.

However my daughter specifically had issues with Brigham Young, polygamy etc. She found out about the CES Letters and Mormon Stories podcasts. I asked her about it cause I thought she was falling away and mistaken about the facts. I was completely shocked and devastated to know I was the one who did not have the facts or truths at all. My entire life I trusted these men Presidency. Active card carrying Latter Day Saint misled for 40+ years.

Those of the Church leadership who have received the 2nd anointing have been given a clean bill on their sins and expressly are not capable of sin except in the case of shedding innocent blood. This gives them a logistical reason to believe any wrong doing they have done, are doing and will do is not sin in the eyes of God because of their 2nd anointing. I could be wrong but I can see how they might feel they are guiltless.

I love Communion in religions in where the Church admits they are not following the Christian path stating "Merciful God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart. We have failed to be an obedient church. We have not done your will," then THE CHURCH asks forgiveness from the congregation. The LDS Church is a far cry from asking FORGIVENESS from its members, or recognizing that they fall short. I have a relative in your stake and I discussed with him much of what you have unearthed around the leaders of the church. He advised that he could ‘sense’ that they are good people. I have only found evil in those secret societies. In fact, I can't really find much on the Owl and Key but have found quite a bit on the skull and bones. I would like to know if you can walk away from the society after swearing their oaths. I ask because in his book Heart to Heart, Nelson bragged about being members of skull and bones and owl and key. I think if people knew more about these organizations and his involvement, it may open their eyes. Thanks.
I think that would be a very interesting episode. I recently found out that Nelson was a member of S&B, and I believe another GA or two were as well. It’s hard to find solid information about the organization because it’s very secretive.

1:28 I had not heard this from Kevin Hamilton, I think a separation between “policy” and “doctrine” is what allows many nuanced members to stay involved and Hamilton completely destroys that idea. You can’t say something like the priesthood ban wasn’t doctrine under this idea. It’s crazy to say that every word out of the prophet or the church’s mouth has to be true and of god, what if they contradict? I.e. Mormon being an offense to god but also meaning more good but also we choose to be offended.

Mormons are absolutely NOT Christians. Mormons are trusting in temple ceremonies and church membership for salvation. Jesus ended the temple ceremonies and offers to make ANYONE His temple by being born again through trusting in their heart that He alone atoned for their personal sin and rose from the dead as the one and only true LORD OF ALL! Joseph Smith lied! Read the CES Letter for yourself.

He suffered greatly to do the will of the Lord. He was a man of great charity. He adopted a family of children when their mother died. He gave away the family cow to a women who needed it more. After being tarred and feathered, and threatened with death, he continued to do as the Lord asked him to do. He was more afraid of what God could do than what men could do. He was a noble man.

As a lifetime member of the LDS church, it always bothered me that there was an implied "we are better than nonmembers" attitude. In the past couple of years, I have distanced myself a bit so I can ask questions and find real truth. I am appalled by the things I've heard the leaders have been passing off as Christ's doctrine. Members are conditioned (with coersion and fear) to follow blindly. One must step away from that to really start seeing through the double talk.

The words of the prophets ans apostles are utterly worthless when compared against the actions of the church they represent. Protecting the children comes way down their list of priorities while protecting their money and revenue streams always come first. Honesty is never a priority for them either, it also comes in a distant second to protecting the institution.... by their works ye shall know them.
Thankyou Nemo for your courage in holding the leaders of the church accountable for they’re actions, I just don’t understand how they can get away with lie after lie, and people in the church keep believing them. I left 10 years ago, thanks to John Dehlin, who answered so many of my doubts, fears, frustrations, and unanswered questions, that I had in the LDS Church over many years, I was born and raised in England and have many people within the church there and here that I love dearly, good people, just very mislead. 😢

You can't argue with facts backed up by empirical evidence. (Although there are those who will try.) Nemo presents the empirical evidence to back up what, for all intents and purposes, appears to be the truth. For those of us who have left the church but still sometimes wonder if we got our facts straight when we made our decision, thank you Nemo for bolstering our conviction and for showing others what the LDS church really is under its sheep's clothing. ❤

Nemo, you’re amazing. I only recently discovered your content and I wanted to commend you for the great effort and care you take to create it, and on how exceptional it is.
I left the mormon church over twelve years ago and am honestly shocked at the most recent revelations which prove the institution to be rotten to its core. In my last priesthood meeting, I sat and listened to a room full of the brethren attempt to justify a father sexually assaulting his daughter as somehow being part of god’s plan. No one could see how deplorable what they were suggesting was and I knew in that moment I was done.
My renewed interest in the state of the mormon church is due to someone very dear to me who has started attending again. I am very grateful that your content is available for us to discuss and for her to utilize to make an informed decision about her membership.
You barely scratched the surface. The church violates something in every section of the D&C. You could have easily debunked every one of Holland's remarks at the start of the video using the scriptures.

Aversion therapy at BYU went farther than an electrode on the subject's biceps. I was present years ago in Los Angeles, CA when a subject of aversion therapy told a group of LGBT Mormons that his "therapy" required him to watch homosexual pornography after which he was injected with nausea-inducing drugs. He said the vomiting lasted for hours afterward. He also spoke of others who were required to wear a metal ring on the penis that administered electrical shocks whenever the subject became aroused by homosexual imagery. The program was represented by the Church as voluntary. The speaker related that young men who were potential subjects for the program were summoned, informed that they had been surveilled by campus police, presented with evidence that they had gone to gay bars, etc., and threatened with expulsion them from the university. It was also suggested that further ecclesiastical action might be taken against them. Rather than face this, the men were offered electro/chemical aversion therapy as an alternative. They were also obligated to sign a waiver of legal responsibility on the part of the Church.

In my humble opinion, they could be Christian in some degree but I know for sure they’re better businessman than Christian.

They're claiming that Jesus declared his name should be in the church, interesting fact about how Mormon's lie to their members. In Mormon doctrine, Bruce McConkie said that the name of Christ has always been in the name of the church which is a lie. They changed the name of the church to the church of the latter-day saints and it remained that way for 4 years. Then it was changed back again and I believe 1838. So the Lord forgot that his name needed to be in the church in Bruce McConkie forgot that the name was not there for several years and light about it being there always. So this is the kind of conman tactics that this outfit operates under. They're deluded and they're liars

Nemo, I love you dearly. Christians define themselves as those who believe in salvation by Grace. That Jesus became the Christ on the cross and justified our sins. Mormons are not considered Christians by most in the Body of Christ.
People who self declare themselves "in the Body of Christ" don't get to declare any one else as Christian or not. If you read your Bible, you would know that Jesus Christ himself speaks out against this level of arrogance.
Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are Christians because they are disciples of Jesus Christ.

Another Christian faith, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints also believes in the grace, the salvation and redemptive power of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. We also understand many more details around this than the over simplified Evangelical version of: "saved by grace. period."
To speak simply, both Evangelicals and members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints believe that we are "saved by grace".

Mormons are not Christian because they do not worship the same God that mainstream Christianity does. In fact, their belief that Jesus is an exalted man is considered blasphemy in the Christian church.

@@carolyearsley Who is "they"? The GAs or one Sunday School teacher? I have always heard the teaching that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God the Father. Always.
It was doctrine preached by the GAs, right from the pulpit in General Conference. We were taught that we could also become such in our eternal progression. Apparently they have shelved that idea. Mormonism is slowly blending in with main stream Christianity, dropping the more austere teachings, such as polygamy being a requirement for exaltation, like Brigham Young expounded in his Hellfire orations.
