Good morning! The best way to start your day is with some ON THROTTLE! Let me know in the comments section would you take your GR COROLLA with an AUTOMATIC or MANUAL transmission!
@@RaitisRides i’m excited for the auto one. I think it’ll be a bit quicker 0 to 60 time and a lot easier in Miami traffic. but I do have a second car, which is manuals to enjoy when I have time and no traffic.
I'm glad they offer an automatic. I am not a fan of manuals. I don't mind driving one once in a while, but daily would drive me crazy especially now the traffic is crazy now in the city I live in.
48k for ANY Corolla is an absolute insult. It costs Toyota MAYBE 20k to build one of these piles. They just know that dummies are gonna line up for them and they can charge the premium. 🤷🏼♂️
To be honest I dig it. I’m currently driving an 08 civic si (manual) and I’ve been in the market for an SUV or a sports hatch 4 door. But living in a metropolitan area driving into the city every day with a manual is getting old. I’m 33 now and every car I’ve owned since I was 17 was a manual. I still want a manual as my “weekend car” but for a daily this would be nice.
I Have had the Evo’s and WRX’s so i have had my gear rowing fun In the past. You cant deny it will be a little quicker with the auto not to mention smoother driving when you just want to cruise on the freeway with the 2 extra gears. Mine is arriving at the dealership in a week in the same exact spec. Looking forward to getting back into a fun hot hatch!
Almost all my cars have been manual, including my current car, but I’d get this one in the automatic since I now drive 60-70 miles a day in LA traffic. I agree I love the new face, and I love your demonstration of the paddles. Trading in my Focus RS would cover a nice chunk of the price, but on principle I just cannot get myself to pay nearly $50k + $10k markup for this car.
I will take one! The exact model, color, premium package, everything same. Can you please just get me one that hasn't been beat on in its first 500 or so miles. I would like to use the owners manual and break it in the proper way. This dude is insane. I love being able to see what the car can do so I absolutely love this video. I would just prefer to not buy that exact car he was driving. If I'm spending that much money on a new car or a car with a few miles, I am going to be the one to beat on it not someone else and at the proper time. Test drive was awesome, I want to see more of this dude driving new cars, its very interesting, I subscribed.
When I bought my 24 GRC Premium with manual I really wanted the DAT but it wasn’t confirmed yet. My salesman from the dealer called and said they had two DATs in on the truck and wondered if I wanted to test drive one. I went over that afternoon and took one for a drive. I now own a Red 2025 GR Corolla Premium DAT. It drives so much better than the manual. Coupled with the automatic traction bias split changes in Track mode this baby screams around corners. I live on a winding mountain road that goes from 5800-7000 ft with lots of turns so i get to have fun on my daily drive. I can’t wait to get it on the road course. If you haven’t actually driven the 25 GRC DAT don’t bad mouth it because it’s “an automatic”.
Great review like always, question, is it this one, that when you drive 85mph, catch itself on fire, and toyota deny warranty or any assistance because vehicle was driven that speed?
Both of the cars that caught fire were tuned so they didn’t catch fire for no reason. The 85 mph was from having cheap tires and not the original ones that come with it that have a higher mph rating. Idk why they chose that way of not honoring the warranty though lol.
Driven both the Lexus IS350 and the manual GR Corolla, both are great sporty, practical 4 door cars. It just depends on your preference really. The IS 350 has the tried and true old school 2GR 3.5L V6 that's been used in all kinds of Toyotas and Lexus for years, and has a nicer interior. Driven it thru the canyons, great throttle response and pretty good steering, well planted around corners. The GR corolla is more of a rally/ tuner style car that's more focused on performance. Therefore more basic interior, and a smaller turbo engine instead. Both make 300 horses. It's lighter so more throwable around corners. Also the turbo/ exhaust noise is pretty wild coming from a corolla. Can't go wrong with either one, long-time Toyota/ Lexus fan here 😊
Joe convinced me to buy a manual mx5 and I learn how to drive manual in it but now I want a gr Corolla manual they can keep this automatic option jk the automatic looks great too
Wow. Thanks to you Joe, I bought a TRD Pro Sequoia in Ice Cap with Red Interior. The 25’s have the black interior headliner huge win for me! Anywho I am stalking this GRC with the auto, sold my STi, I miss having a manual, but this is made by Team GR. Still undecided.
Three cylinders with a 1.6-liter turbo engine-I'm skeptical about that. A small engine can generate excessive heat, potentially leading to catastrophic failure or even a fire.
I don’t think you know much about engineering. The blocks itself has bigger coolant ports vs a typical 4 banger. Thicker side walls to uphold higher boost. They did win the 24 hour lemans. The engine has been proven. It’s the dumb younger buyers who don’t know how to drive it properly and blows it up.
My concern w/this 8AT variant is on the rear brake discs; are they vented, or solid? Because on the (overseas) GR Yaris, choosingv 8AT would also downgrade the rear brakes from the 6NT's vented discs to solid discs......
Hello Joe Raiti, I hope you’re doing well! Will you be able to review the New Nissan GTR Nismo & the New Saleen s302 Black Label Mustang? I’m curious about what you would think about them, plus I’m not seeing too much info about them lately so I thought you’re the best person to ask for this! Also great content keep it going 💪💪
Noticed in this GR Corolla that the sports mode is correct this time, the plus sign is on the bottom. I have a 2007 camry v6 and in most Toyota's that have a sports mode that the plus sign is on the top. Why?????
loved the livestream report - the chat moved so fast. I said hi etc. this car is getting a l to of attention. 300hp 295torq = zippy & weighs about 3,000 pounds less than my Benz haha. premium plus offers better interior materials than basic. I give it a 7.8 out of 10.
My son LOOVES Toyota. He was actually moping around the house and at father's day dinner at sizzler after they lost 2024 24 hours of Le Mans to Ferrari.
I love my 2023 GR manual.......would never buy an automatic. Can't believe they did it....Thought GR were focused on rallying......I guess they weren't selling enough over here in the US.....this car is a manual car full stop.
Id love to have one of those car they look cool but I feel like those who want one of these manual I don't think there's anything wrong making a manual version and having an eight-speed automatic I don't know why cars don't do both anymore I get it they want to save on calls and stuff like that but I feel like it just makes it better if you can choose both
That would of course depend on whether or not it too self immolates. This is the reason I went for a GR86. Actually just put a deposit down on a Manual Hakone. Managed to snag one without a markup as well. Excited!
@@RaitisRides Thanks! Your video helped with my decision. I was gonna hold out for a halo white one for springtime. Personally, I didn’t think my salesman could find one let alone at cost. 1 of 415 in the US with a stick
48k you get the usual cheap looking Toyota interior, no arm rest, no power seats, and no ventilated seats. I live in Florida, I don't need heated seats.
Personally, I would say get rid of all of it. I don’t want automatic climate. I don’t want heated seats either. I don’t want any extras. I just want pure engine transmission, hot hatch, fun. 😂. Just drive experience.
Heated seats in Florida is for lower back comfort...especially with a stiffer suspension. Just get that AC going nice and you'll be so comfortable. I use them every day.
Except 99% of them are sold at MSRP. I know about 50+ canadian grcs over here on the west coast. Unless you bought it used, everyone got it at msrp. Including my own 2024.
Had to come from Tiktok to see the ON THROTTLE segment. I'm outside the usual crowd but would've loved to see this in a sedan style. Also car manufacturers stop stop stop with piano black finish on the interior. Especially the door handle 🤬 Other than the interior misfires the driving experience looks and sounds fun. Especially hearing that engine.
The fender vent should be body colored. All the extra stuff is very garish. 48k for a Corolla is a bit hard to stomach. I can get a used 911 for that price.
I’m definitely getting some Subaru WRX vibes from this car. Probably Toyota’s best looking pocket racer. I would pick this over a Honda Civic and a VW GTI.
Everyone needs fog lamps, only certain drivers need more air cooling, me personally, I like the fog lamps but would never drive it that hard to need extra cooling.
