What a wonderful first outing of the season with the Coakham Bloodhounds. We made the journey to Hill Farm in Abridge, Essex and had an absolute hoot! Whilst this was still technically a "Puppy Hunt" to ease us back into it, it sure felt like a good days hunting to me! Fabulous riding and brilliant company. Moose was brilliant and so sensible, very proud of him!
For anyone worried about what we are hunting ~ the hounds follow the natural scent of human runners who set off ahead of the pack - no other scent is used (whether animal or synthetic) and there is no killing involved - the runners just get licked at the end of each hunt.
