What an incredible time we had in Macedonia! We rode for six days in the beautiful mountains and forests around the Mavrovo national park. It is a very rural area and the landscape is virtually untouched, so it really felt like an adventure! The horses were incredible, so sure-footed and hardy, and had no trouble travelling 30/40km a day with sometimes massive elevation changes!
This video shows days 1-3 of the trail. We travelled about 27km on the first day, 35km on the second day, and 44km on the third day! We stayed in local hotels for the first two nights and then camped on the evening of our third ride, where we were treated to some delightful wine tasting! We had incredible, home cooked local meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and were certainly never hungry!

Beautiful countryside! But man, that was some rough riding! I would’ve been scared to death. Those drop offs! And at that speed.😮😮😊
