Bought the A400 Xtreme Plus last february and absolutely LOVE that thing. I had been having a few issues with my inertia gun in the past and it's what drove me to finally get the A400. I havent met a shell the A400 wouldn't eat. It actually cycled successfully the 1 3/4 inch shells (didn't have enough power to fully lock it back after shooting the final round, but it cycled and ejected all the mini shells!!). Would highly recommend the A400 if you're looking for a gun that wont click ;) it's a little more heavy than the inertia, but I am a huge advocate for reliability. If I have to worry about whether or not my gun is going to fire/cycle this time, it's not a gun that goes on a hunt with me. Love the videos Bob! Great work!

A little late to the party but I purchased a Beretta A400 Extreme and I can't say enough great things about it. The amount of recoil reduction in it is incredible. Shooting 3.5" heavy loads is a breeze and no longer leaves the ol' shoulder sore even in the slightest! 10/10 for the A400.

I've shot the a400 xplor.. Hands down one of the better shotguns out there.. It's light it doesn't kick that hard and just the whole specs and design is wonderful.. Now I'm waiting on my benelli Raffaello crio..

I bought the Beretta A300 before last duck season, and my God if that isn't the sweetest shooting shotgun I've ever used. Everything feels solid, the parts are super high quality, there are only three major parts to take apart for cleaning, and I can go on and on. Beretta makes a fantastic shotgun. I can only imagine the a400 would be even better

I would highly recommend the beretta a400 xtreme, i have had one for 7 months and shot more then 3000 hunting cartridges out of it and it has not failed once.
Snowstorms for ducks and geese, ocean hunting for guillemots, mountain hiking in -15 and snow for ptermigan, you name it, it will do it.
but if you want to spend those extra ad moneys then i would check out beretta a400 xtreme PLUS, my brother got his last week and it looks amazing and it comes with 5 sweet extended chokes. (yes i intend to steal one of those!! XD )

Mine ejects shells about 10 feet and has never jammed with the loads I've put through it. Also it barely recoils at all. Way less than my 500 20 gauge.

Because I’m very comfortable with the mossberg 500, I had to get another one, I upgraded from the wood stock to synthetic dipped in mossyoak blades!

The beretta A400 xtreme is a great gun it was the first auto I got at a very reasonable price which was very lucky on my part but I got it used that being said I had some minor issues with it an turn to find out all aftermarket parts R really cheap an plenty of TH-cam videos to watch to show you how to install them yourself... it's not slender like u like or have mentioned so maybe a benelli might be more your cup of tea but you never know.. overall very comfortable to shoot no kick at all little spendy new but worth it.. I live an hunt in the frozen north of WI/MN an never had a jam or miss fire yet knock on wood... second off saw that tri star done a rib in the barrel an let it live again as a short barrel shotgun for more safety video...

I’m going to give you a fair heads up in regards to your comment about the beretta a400. I can speak from personal experience on this topic considering I own an a400 as well as a couple of the franchi cousins. I have also shot a franchi affinity on a few occasions. I, like you, prefer the fit and feel of a slimmer gun and personally the beretta just doesn’t feel quite right to me. The gun feels very bulky and if you are used to shooting a gun that has a little bit of rise in the rib, then the flat rib will also be a bit of a down fall. Reliability is there, it is a great gun but it simply doesn’t feel right to me. Just my .02 cents on the subject and I hope this helps

Hello Bobby. Handed down firearms are most important to me. Seeing as how you are a semi guy. If your looking for a decent budget 20ga. Have a look at the Mossburg SA20. Don’t be scared of the trigger pull. It’s tough from the factory but if you slick it up your self or get someone that can do a trigger job on it you will really like it I think. As to your S x S name how about DUX GETTER. ?

My dad bought me an A400 and it’s been through a ton. With the kickoff installed on the gun, it takes 80% of the recoil, so that allows me to shoot a 3 and 1/2” shell more. I have had no problems with the gun. I’ve had it for around 2 1/2 years. Just keep it cleaned up after you shoot it and it will stay a good gun. I will never go back to a browning or anything else after I got it.

Hey Bobby. you asked about the Beretta A 400. Well first of all you can't go wrong with Beretta it is the parent Company to your Franchi you love so much. Beretta also owns Benelli, Stoeger,Tikka, Uberti, SAKO, And Burris Optics. I have the Beretta A 400 Xplor Unico and the A 400 xtreme Plus. both awesome guns and have performed flawlessly. I think the A 400 xtreme Plus will fit your waterfowl hunting to the T. It is designed with the waterfowl hunter in mind. It has a 70% recoil reduction system over most other shot guns it also is the fastest shoot gun on the market at 4 rounds is a second but the recoil is what I enjoy most. it has a lot of waterfowler features you will enjoy. Also a plus, it is a gas operated system not inertia, which ten to kick a lot more. Also with inertia if you don't shoulder the gun right it won't cycle right. Well I won't ramble on to much more so good luck on your future gun choice and happy hunting. Mark

Great videos Bobby, and some good looking children. Nice gun collection I have several myself, when I was 14 "Santa Claus" let me a Remington Nylon 66 22 cal, when I was 15 Santa left me a 12 ga JC Higgins pump, in 1966 my Dad and I were planning to go to Canada bear hunting so I sent to a place in New York City and bought a Savage Model 99 .308 lever action rifle, did not get to go bear hunting, Uncle Sam called me and I went in the Army, my Dad took my rifle Moose hunting and shot about a 1600 lb bull, after the Army stint I was deer hunting every fall and that first year out I shot a nice buck, the next year Dad and I went moose hunting and was fortunate enough to shoot a nice bull. I have shot several deer, and Dad has used it to shoot several more moose, in nov 1977 my last hunting trip I shot a nice 10 point buck, as it turned out that was my last hunting with my .308, we transferred from Upstate New York to Central Florida, I want to get out and shoot some wild pigs but haven't yet. I also own a Ruger Mark 4 22, a Ruger Blackhawk .357, a S&W K22 revolver, and a brand new Trause Model 1911 45 cal., when my Dad passed away I got his .410 bolt action, 20 ga Ithaca pump, and a Kentucky squirrel rifle, and my Grand father 22 pump, name unknown. I used my 12 ga pump heavy, Pheasants, ducks, rabbits and deer before I got the Savage. I grew up in a hunting family both my Mom and Dad were hunters and I tagged along until I could legally hunt.

Bobby, been enjoying your videos tremendously here in SoCal. I'm looking to get an inertia gun for next season and it's a toss up between the Affinity 3 and the Weatherby Element Deluxe. Do you have the Benelli click on your Franchi? And do you think the quality and workmanship of the Italian-made Affinity is that much better than a nice Element? I don't think I'll like the safety on the Element especially for waterfowl but I might be able to look past that? I would love to hear your thoughts, especially on your Affinity 3.

You should cut the barrel down on the tristar. I had a buddy do that when he bulged a barrel still used it as a close range gun

Whenever you do combo hunts (shooting geese and duck in same hunt) what shot size do you use? Do you switch it up?

With the umarex as long as it's just a double load send it it won't hurt it at all. Now if there's something goofy going on I'd recommend a gunsmiths opinion

I have an a300 and I love it hardly any recoil but I would recommend an a350 it has an 3 1/2 but the only difference is the 400 is inertia driven which I don’t prefer
