Wow! This was excellent. You managed to put together a very well coordinated, colourful, and wearable capsule wardrobe. Many capsule wardrobes are boring, lack colour, pattern, and interest in general. Using the art based approach didn't end up with a boring or garish palette. And using one shopping outlet gave the wardrobe a cohesion of style. As a Deep Autumn, I would wear most of the pieces in this capsule. Well done!
@@Deem57 thank you so much Dawn! I'm glad I've got a real Deep Autumn approval! It was a really fun challenge - let me know if you have other paintings you'd like to see (can be other colour seasons as well!)
Oh, this was just so clever, Mili. I so want to see more for all colour seasons. Your videos are just so inspirational. You put so much effort and research into all of your content. Thank you so much 💓
Do a Monet painting! It would be a dreamy ethereal delight of a capsule I think, but for winter because the lighter pastel colors aren't always considered wintery so I like seeing how you can translate something unexpected into your capsule!
Wow!
I have been lost in my style for years now, and since I discovered your videos, I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel 😂 I know I sound dramatic but what it amounts to is that you've taken a lot of information and compiled it in a very practical way. I also feel like you added a great tool with the levels of colour and patterns! Really helped me understand my own tastes, which is what i was struggling with the most
@@abigaelmacritchie1365 aww Abigael, this absolutely made my day! Seriously! I'm really glad that the way I've put it together made sense, and getting to know your preferences is so so powerful ❤️
Excellent video. I’ve been thinking a bit like this for a while, as I realised that a lot of my True Summer colours were contained in my scarf based on Monet’s Water Lillies. But I hadn’t thought about it in this much detail. You might also like The Vivienne Files if you haven’t already seen them. There are various capsules based around artwork, a scarf or both.
Oh my goodness this was fantastic! I'm an Autumn and I also love & Other Stories, and this capsule is actually something that I would totally wear! The painting as your palette idea is fabulous as well. Might try this to edit down my current capsule into a mini edition - maybe with Vermeer's Woman in Blue Reading a Letter? All the possibilities 😊🤔🤔
@@StuffAndShenanigans ohhh I'm so glad it's something you'd actually wear, I also love & other stories! That's a really cool painting - let me know how it goes ❤️
This video is … a work of art. Well done Mili! Even though I’m not an autumn, I found myself heavily invested in Jane getting the wardrobe she wanted. I’d love to see a capsule based on Kandinsky’s Der Blaue Reiter or Picasso’s Le Rêve please.
@ Excellent news! To be honest I didn’t even realise it was an almanac. The image I had in mind is a shaded/speckled blue horse face on with its head tilted so it looks a bit shy, with its nose highlighted white & a big green tuft of grass/plant next to it. The front “hill” is red, then there’s a plum double hill, yellow/lime immediately behind the horse, then a darker purple hill, intense blue hill & pale red sky. Does that help? 😬 Edit: it looks like I was actually thinking of a painting by Franz Marc. Google told me wrong! Although Kandinsky’s version with the little man riding a white horse is cool too, & the colours are quite similar (just Kandinsky’s is a bit fuzzier/more traditional looking vs. Marc’s very modern prototype-cubism).
Oh my gosh - this is such a fantastic idea! I might try this with my winter capsule! Even if it was just a 1 month capsule - this is a *delightful* exercise! And a really great way to change things up while still primarily or fully shopping your own stash!
@@mariekelley7557 thank you Marie, glad this inspired you - I think it's a great way to look at a wardrobe in a different way! Do you have a painting in mind?
@ honestly, I think I need to sit down with my art books and have my palate in mind. I’ve always been really romanced by the impressionist movement, but I think of those as very muted, soft colors. I am a bright winter, and I’m a level 4-5 contrast/color level for interest. So, that’s probably not quite right for me. So I’m wondering if I want to go with something like Starry Night? Same kind of vibe but higher chroma colors? Though I don’t know that I’ll look good in yellow.. hmm. Yeah, I think I need to look at my books!
@@AlexLouiseWest exactly! I said impressionists, but I mostly meant Monet. I adore his paintings, but I’ve never found success in translating them to my fashion style. I just need more contrast!
Oh, I absolutely loved this format! I think Maximilien Luce has great paintings for the winter seasons. Maybe you could make a capsule for dark winters with his "Impression Nocturne", I'd be delighted! (If you need a context, a capsule for a full-time PhD student who doesn't want to wear jeans/leggings + sneakers, but still being relatively casual)
WOW this is exactly the video I needed and I didn’t even know it. I cannot get over how thorough and helpful your videos are! Including the item picture + the model wearing it helps me visualize how things will fit into my closet/lifestyle so well. Thank you for this amazing content!
@@atucker92 aw thank you so much for the kind words Alex! I'm glad the item being worn on the model helped you visualise things - it's something I will continue doing whenever I can!

What a nice capsule Wardrobe! Pretty and versatile :) Having different outfits formulas for different aspects of life is a good idea, especially for someone who work from home. It could help be and stay in the right mindset. I love Daria's Art Inspired series and I am so happy that someone else is doing something similar (but with your own spin on the concept). I often have fun imagining outfits or capsules inspired by nature and/or art. I like to think that the one I am building is (in parts at least). If you want to make it a series, can I suggest Klimt, Alfons Mucha and Monet? If you want to make it into
@@elisa4620 ohh so nice, that's another vote for Klimt and Monet! I also love Mucha - currently doing a jigsaw of "The four seasons" and the colours are beautiful
@MiliVelikova Well, what do you say in English? Great minds think alike? The four seasons are gorgeous! Though, he did many other beautiful artwork too. Art Nouveau is probably my favorite artsyle : beautiful colors, beautiful soft and flowy lines, nature inspired. What is not to love here? :) PS: I edited my previous comment to add some things
A Van Gogh would be great to be your next capsule exercise! It can be one of his landscapes, as there would be more colors to choose from. And as a brand, maybe some that are more colorful could be an inspiration, such as Boden, Hobbs, or J. Crew.
