I really hope this is useful for your capsule wardrobe 😍😘 And if you enjoyed this video, I'm sure you'll also love my guide on the best way to build your capsule wardrobe: th-cam.com/video/DV3YTeBlhYE/w-d-xo.html ❤
Best tip ever: deciding WHERE you want to add color. That’s always been a struggle for me. My wardrobe therefore feels slightly all over the place or harder to mix and match. So I’m definitely going to try what you said; coats/jackets, shoes and outer layers in my best neutrals (navy, grey, offwhite and taupe) and adding color through shirts and other kinds of tops and scarves in winter ❤
I am still looking and shopping for my perfect capsule wardrobe. I am lost now. But still i try to find my way with the capsule wardrobe. I have nice and beautiful fitted pieces at the moment and i try to work with them and i am pretty happy with that
Another nice video, Kim 🎨 thanks. Saturation makes so much more difference to me than undertone. Like you, pale warm tones wash me out. I struggle wearing any shade of yellow, but nearly all “candy pastels” & jewel tones suit me. I like to make sure I include bright icy pastels and regal colours in my winter wardrobe to keep it cheerful despite the short dark days, but I struggle finding a personal summer style to form a cohesive seasonal capsule. I wear patterns more often in summer but don’t like mixing & matching them so I think that’s one factor I can consider for future planning.
I agree, saturation is a lot more noticeable than undertones, but both are so important 😉 And I'm the same with yellow, just can't pull it off 😅 Thanks for sharing! ❤️
Love your videos 🥰 I do recommend if anyone is confused about what their best colours are, they should get an in-person colour analysis done. I'm a trained colour analyst and i've truly seen how life changing it is. It's going to save you so much money in the long run.
🎨 I remember finding a short with flower patterns, and I loved the colors, so I found tops to match every color. I used those combos so much that even I got shy about it. But found it worked for me. They are all dexluttered now. They were worn out. I have never been able to pull that trick again. BUT I learned about favorite colors❤😊
Hey Kim, what a brilliant approach this is. Much easier than all those other systems. I have wasted to much money over the years trying to figure out a decent colour palette for each season. You have made it so much easier now, thank you :)
🎨 This is why I love your channel! This kind of helpful, straight forward and non prescriptive information ❤. I definitely notice a preference towards certain shades of certain colours and now I understand why. I am having so much fun getting to understand my style better with you. Thank you Kim! 🙏
Aw, this is so nice to hear, I put a lot of effort into these videos, so I'm very happy you love them so much! ❤️ And yesss, learning about "rules" and theories can be so freeing because you can finally understand why you like or dislike something, it's so useful 😉 Thanks for your lovely comment! 🥰
Hey! Kim you are so close to 10K Subscribers and my sister was eagerly waiting for this video you are my inspiration and I wish you reach 10K Subscribers very very soon!💓💫🙂
I agree, Kim. These approaches have not worked for me at all. I just could not correlate what others have done to develop their color palette into developing my own. For whatever reasons, I just couldn’t make that leap from them to me. This is such a helpful approach and I feel, less restrictive and more intuitive. Again, thank you!
You are so good at this Kim. I’ve watched other videos on how to pick your palette and it’s overwhelming. I took a photo of myself and changed it to b/w and I think I’m similar to your sister. My veins appear greenish, but I feel like I’m neutral and I can wear silver, gold and rose gold. I’ll get it figured out. But I’ll continue on refining my wardrobe to streamline it. 😊
Thank you Kim this is so helpful! 🎨 I’ve already organized my summer favourites to do my first 10x10 capsule at the end of summer, before I switch to my fall pieces. Now I just need to make notes :)
I’ve returned to this video in January 2024 because I’m already planning my wardrobe for spring and summer. I know that I need a new leather bag in a lighter colour, because the only one I’ve been carrying is navy, my base colour. I was thinking of getting a nude bag, but I checked my notes on my phone and saw that beige/nude is my other base colour for summer, and I want the second bag in my accent colour instead… according to my notes it’s white and so I’m going to get a white bag - yay! Thanks again Kim :) 🙏🤍
I find your videos so interesting. I am working on decluttering my masses of items, and still have a long way to go. I would be interested on how you organize other parts of your home. Kitchen, bathroom etc.
🎨Excellent video! Makes perfect sense and I can already identify patterns and colors and my tendencies for which pieces I use to inject these things!! I’m excited to try this. I have also tried the pen and paper pre-planning method for my capsule palette and have gotten discouraged or confused about my choices. Thank you!! I cannot wait to apply this technique!❤️
Hello kim , love your content, its true ,everybody has colour that suit there skin. I suit reds pinks for my skin ,thankyou for your great ideas takecare ! And see you again soon ,from Australia xo ❤️💞🌟😃
This was genuinely helpful information, have realised that I dont like any bright colours except red & orange. Love all the colours but tend to buy neutrals for myself.
🎨thank you, this is a very refreshing technique. From someone who has spent thousands just to donate because so,e thing didn’t feel right or authenticate.
This is such a smart and fresh approach. I do enjoy studying fashion systems but gave up trying to adhere to all the "rules" a while ago. If I follow those systems I'm a soft classic and dark winter but I move outside of those boxes at times and it still works. You are right, we do mostly gravitate towards what works by instinct. I started noticing the shapes and colors that look good on me. From there it's recognizing what draws us and refining. And for the average person trying to navigate those systems can often lead to more confusion and insecurity. I have a fashion background so it wasn't the worst but I can only imagine a novice being frustrated. I think those systems best serve professionals in the industry like stylists or designers. That way they can have proven methods use when working with clients or creating a new collection.
I agree, it can be so confusing and overwhelming, and sometimes even expensive to try all these methods and buy new "correct" colours and stuff 🙈😊 I'm so glad this resonated with you, thanks for sharing! ❤️

I never head or thought of that - and I´m a certified stylist! This is so good! Is it something you figured out yourself? You really have a talent...
Oh, and by the way - my colors: 🤎❤🤍💙💛
Hehe, I learned about undertones and contrasts from others, everything else was just trial and error with my wardrobe 🥰 I'm glad you loved this! 😉😘

🎨 thank you again…so I think the beige top at the end of the video looks good with your skin tone but I assume that’s a warmer color right?
Yes, it's a bit warm toned 😊
Love this video where did you get the red top you are wearing in this video; I love it. Can I get one. Thanks
Thanks! 🥰 And I got it from Guess more than 4 years ago, so it's probably not available anymore but you can check 😊

I'm from Slovenia 😊 And yesss, it takes time build a perfect capsule, but it's very much worth it 😉😍
