Still Wakes in the Deep just came out and it's pretty good. Played The Beginner's Guide last week, and it's a digestible laid back feature-length experience.
I put off picking up inscription because I figured “eh, it’s probably cool, but how much am I gonna like a card game?” So yeah, now it’s consuming my life.
A few good games for your situation would be 10,000,000 (an old roguelite match 3 game where you're trying to escape a dungeon) currently $1.49 on Steam. Another good one is Dicey Dungeons ($2 on Steam currently) that one is like a combo card + dice game where you use your dice rolls to fuel your abilities. Slice and Dice ($9 on steam currently) is an incredible strategy game where you get upgradable heroes that all have their own unique d6 and you mess around with it with items to gain power. If you haven't played any Daniel Mullins games (Pony Island, The Hex, Inscryption) I can't recommend those games enough. main point is that all those can easily be played while petting a cat :)
A day late, but I started playing slay the princess thanks to a friend family sharing it with me, and of course TF2 is bot free now (yay) also got quake live on sale which still has a playerbase
I'm not playing it this weekend, but Slay the Princess is currently the lowest price it's ever been on Steam! It's one of my favs from 2023, and since it's a graphic-based Choose Your Own Adventure, it certainly fits the cat-in-lap requirement. I got to the credits in 10 hours (but there's more content than that.) The game pitches a very unique meta-premise, and acknowledges the player's repeated attempts at getting different endings. However, it's nothing like Undertale or The Stanley Parable. In other words, the game doesn't acknowledge itself as a program. The mystery that gets revealed is very interesting and satisfying!
TF2 because the game is actually playable atm also Civ 4 is a solid choice, either that or go with Balatro or maybe Loop Hero? Or the perfect game for just using a mouse is RuneScape 😂 Sounds like the perfect night to get your agility or fishing level up.
Playing Myst for the first time, because Riven just released and I want to play both. All I can say is thank god for the notes feature in the Steam overlay...
lol yeah I even went old-school for when I played the original Riven a few years ago, and got out a pencil and paper so i could draw symbols and stuff i thought i might need later. There's something really special about puzzle games that have that sort of experience.
I'm just about to finish the Perfect Dark PC port. I'd never played the game before and this was like the perfect opportunity to finally give it a shot. It's held up incredibly well and even does some things I wish was more common in modern shooters. (Like the variety in weapons and just how distinct they all are) I also tried out the Majora's Mask PC port, the recompiled one, and like man we're in a golden age of N64 preservation right now. These games are getting not only the best versions they've ever had, but versions that will likely last forever. It's so cool to see. I haven't had a chance to take a look at the Steam Summer Sale until tomorrow, but I'm hoping to pick up 1 or 2 new things to play. Not quite sure what I'm in the mood for actually, so I'll just look around and see what jumps out at me.

For Perfect Dark PC - need to use a contoller or does it support m/kb?
@@chetfaliszek It supports mouse and keyboard. You can even rebind everything using menus in-game, it's really well done.
