    Great Video ! You make this look easy!!! I love my XB ! Been a great car! I dont have any oil leaks but I suspect PCV valve needs to be changed. I have a random rough idle when coming to a stop then it clears up. Or maybe a vacuum leak. Never had any Check Engine Lights. I bought this car new in 2009 so I know the PCV has never been changed . I will start with the simple stuff first! Thanks !!!!!!

    • @RBTheMechanic
      @RBTheMechanic  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well misfire means u need to change the coil on that cylinder and I would do the spark plugs. Plugs might be $89 coil might be another 90$ valve gasket might be like $55

    That might not be enough to save the car. If they been driving around with that leak for awhile they engine is already fkd up. I don't understand why ppl let their vehicles get so out of hand.

    • @Mauimass
      @Mauimass ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Those XBs are bullet proof with basic maintenance. I am guessing that car is over 10 years old with over 120k miles on it. In my opinion that oil leak looks bad but not to say the engine is totally gone. Just monitor the oil level and keep adding when needed. With the prices of new/ used cars now days it’s better to hold on to your current car as long as possible. Thanks for this video I gonna start my repair soon on my XB my leak isn’t that bad tho 🤙🏽

    • @scott4825
      @scott4825 ปีที่แล้ว

      LOL, a leak is just going to go through oil and make a mess, but if they check the oil levels and keep them up, it isn't damaging the engine.

    • @malcolmjelani3588
      @malcolmjelani3588 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@scott4825 lol, what are the chances that this owner has done what you have described? How many ppl drive around without checking fluids? You give the average car owner too much credit. Ppl are generally lazy as fck and won't fix something until its an emergency or until the vehicle is no longer operational.

      @@RBTheMechanic ok no problem I put it all back together already and I tighten them as much as I assume they were when I removed the bolts. I did going in a cross order and a quick question those two grommets it comes with is that for the long bolts that go in the middle of the cover? Also it’s says 8ftlbs 10ft lbs and 8ftlbs for the bolt sizes but I didn’t over tighten them but I did make sure they were on there good so I hope it doesn’t cause an issue with leaks because I don’t have my tool.
