I made the cake yesterday, it really was as easy and came out exactly as Emma's all soft and fluffy. But remember that it does not taste exactly like it was baked in the oven. There is a clear difference. However it's totally worth making it if you also use the buttercream frosting as the frosting will help hide the taste difference and make it a clear winner. Thanks Emma!

Made this cake today, but I did split batter into different bowls and added food coloring as Emma showed in another video. The family couldn't believe it had baked in the microwave in just 5 minutes. I used a silicone heart shaped cake mold. Then I topped with Emma's cream cheese frosting. It was soooo good. Thanks for sharing your recipes with us, I have baked so many and all are great. ❤🍰

You probably could. But it won't be as light as a cake made with eggs. The whole point of this recipe is to use the microwave and speed up the cooking time. If you're going to bake it, you may as well just use a regular cake recipe. Better texture that way.

Just a tip: put frozen butter in the microwave for ~15-30 seconds (depending on the amount), leave it in the microwave for 15 minutes and it should be soft by then!!

@@anandadaffa39 I used a heavy bottom pan. I added a glass of water to the pan and then placed a rack on the pan. then I put my cake pan( with the cake batter inside)on top of it, covered it, and cooked on the lowest flame possible for 20-30 minutes. Give it a try! It's easy!

by the way, if you dont have greek yoghurt u can use milk, it makes the cake moist and u wont taste the yoghurt so you can substitute it with milk! hope this helps!

I’m going to try this I used to make cupcakes with my daughters when they were little I know how soft the sponge is it’s so light super soft and delicious when cooked in a microwave, I can’t eat eggs I have a serious egg allergy so this recipe is perfect for me, thank you for sharing

Just a tip: put frozen butter in the microwave for ~15-30 seconds (depending on the amount), leave it in the microwave for 15 minutes and it should be soft by then!!

I made this cake on stove top for my family and my brother was like "Can u make this everyday?" I absolutely loved it. I do have a request. When I went to an ice cream shop I bought this amazing ginger honey ice cream that was so good. So I was thinking that maybe u could do a cake version of it. Just a request. Lots of love 😘

Hey, how did you make it on the stove? Did you steam it? And if so for how long?
@@anandadaffa39 I used a heavy bottom pan. I added a glass of water to the pan and then placed a rack on the pan. then I put my cake pan( with the cake batter inside)on top of it, covered it, and cooked on the lowest flame possible for 20-30 minutes. Give it a try! It's easy!

I make this cake all the time. My teenage kids love this cake! They ask me to make it all the time. How can I refuse, it takes 5 minutes! And it tastes better than any oven made one if you ask us!😉

by the way, if you dont have greek yoghurt u can use milk, it makes the cake moist and u wont taste the yoghurt so you can substitute it with milk!

Thanks for reminding me that a cake can be made in a microwave because I crave them but often don’t feel like making one though I made a delicious vegan one layer cake from on an online recipe❣️ And the reason I made it-one layer because I really only make 2 layer cakes.
