    I think it's an "Assembled in the USA with globally sourced parts" situation. I've heard that Cobratec(in Texas) is the ones doing these. Personally, I like Cobratec knives for the price and I like the Boker Plus quality standards so this is a win to me.

    So I bought the mini version of this knife with carbon fiber and the Eagle Talon blade that curves up instead of down like yours, yours has the falcon blade. I've had several misfires opening and closing the action since I've had it and the springs ring pretty loud too. I love the knife and I'm a sucker for carbon fiber but the blade is dull and a unreliable action that could be fixable and a lot of blade play. Now my brother bought the full-size with the all aluminum tan handle and the falcon D2 steel blade. His action hasn't failed, blade can shave my arm out of the box and has little blade play. I wish they were equal in quality. I got a Accu Sharp sharpener for Christmas that I'll start on the blade with soon, hopefully I'll get a better edge soon. Even though the knife isn't perfect I'll probably end up getting the full size of the knife for choices and reliability. Curious, what is the best angle to try to sharpen this to?

      not sure on sharpening. I would guess 20 degrees based on the factory angle

    I got one recently it was sharp enough to pop hair off but not really shave sharp, my work sharp put a nice ugly tall mirror polish 15dps angle on so its razor sharp now and mine misfires often but resets easily and fires fine for a while long enough to be fun and not annoying

      Disassemble and clean it with alcohol, do not use water. Then lube the internal parts with "WD Specialist PTFE". It will work great. From time to time, it will misfire but not as often.
      I guess they used cheap lubricant during the production.
      After cleaning with alcohol the black paint may be falling off because it has poor quality.

    Looks nice! My state of Pennsylvania finally legalized autos and I’ll be able to carry them starting in January!

      Amen but they need to finish the deal by making the law preemptive.

    Got one! Overall for under 100$ it is what it is. The edge geometry was off. One side was 25 the other about 20. It was pretty dull as a result. After some work on my precision sharpener system they are both about 17. A lot sharper now. Doing some polishing on the blade now.

      The edge on this thing is one of the worst Inhabe seen. Pretty crazy

    “Made in USA” cause they can’t import an Auto knife. As was told to me by Boker..

    • @edged_mindset
      @edged_mindset  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True, but they can import the parts, and put it together in America, which legally can meet the definition of "made in America".

      @@edged_mindset Yeah. Pretty shady. Kinda like the Strike and AK47 are conversion autos not covered by Boker under warranty.

      @@edged_mindset I just got in the regular dagger version it’s very sharp. Less blade play. The finish is terrible one side of the handle is a different black than the other side. I honestly can’t believe boker and cobra tech put their names on this. Looking forward to putting it they the ringer and getting it the distressed look lol.

    Handle Design is Awesome, but the sad thing, is made in China, to reduce Cost, probably production of this knife is less then 20 dollar per knife, to make profit for Boker

    • @Nobodyknows447
      @Nobodyknows447 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not made in China. It is illegal for a foreign made auto to be imported for sale in the United States. Parts cam be sourced but it is assembled in TEXAS

    'ASSEMBLED in the US using parts from... you know where'..
    Btw, that whole 'technicality' about being "Made in the US" if 51% is exactly that, a technicality. But not a REALITY. Anyone trying to justify this as a 'good thing' is blowing smoke..

    • @edged_mindset

      Totally agree. I get where the law is coming from though. If a clothing maker designs, sews, and dyes their own garments but they get the raw spandex they use from China is it not fare to say its made in the USA, just not all USA materials? It's definitely not made in China

    • @17_plus_WON

      I don't doubt that there are SOME circumstances like the hypothetical you mention. But I'd be willing to bet most of these cases are simply a loophole for companies to be able to slap that 'Made in US' label on their product. I'd definitely be willing to bet that's what's going on here. Boker needs a workaround to get passed the automatic knife import law, and Cobratech has the 'facility' here and the means to assemble the knives. We are seeing China move closer and closer and even opening up 'drop center' type stores here like Mohave Outdoors.
      I honestly don't believe that newer otf company Axial Gear is making their knives here either. I won't believe it until I see a shop tour showing the processes and machinery. The good news is, TRUE manufacturing will return in the next few years. It's already starting to happen and Artisan/CJRB I believe is one company with the foresight to start planning the move over here. At least that's what I heard somewhere recently.
