Many times you can also reset passenger windows that have auto up/down feature (most newer Hondas have this now). To reset a control unit other than driver's window, just follow all steps shown in video *using the switch at the problem window*. *On newer Hondas that have Auto Up/Down for each window, if the windows operate using the switch at each door (but do not work from the driver's door switch) then resetting the control modules for each window can sometimes fix the issue.* Each door window control unit (the window switch) would need to be reset manually using the window switch at each door (so 3 separate reset procedures if all 3 passenger windows do not work at Driver's switch). This typically needs to be done if power is removed (battery died or something unplugged or replaced) from certain components at a certain time. Window still doesn't work? I spent about an hour just trying to mess with the cables and figure out what was going on. THANK YOU! Coming from a woman that couldn’t get her front windows to roll up at all. I knew there was some sort of security trick that would help me to do it. I followed your instructions to a T and it worked like a charm
A tip from someone who did this wrong and DISABLED my whole switch (!): practice with the switch before you attempt this, so you can feel that there are actually two stops in it! Embarassed to say I didn't really realize this at first. You only want to push down to the first (midway) stop, NOT all the way down (to the AUTO setting stop: this is the popup note on the video, but I did not initially understand what he meant when he said he was not pressing "auto down"). But, if you, like me, end up somehow disabling your switch so your windows are no longer responding, you can simply pull the fuse for the switch to reset the window master switch back to basic functionality (whew!), and then try again. NOTE: in my 2006 Civic EX coupe, the window master switch fuse is #26 in the under-dash fusebox... but everyone should have a fuse map sticker down there next to the box, so you can find yours. Hope this helps somebody! :)

Thank you for the video. One thing that needs to be added though! The step of pushing down on the switch and turn the ignition key to position II (four times) has to be accomplished within 5 seconds of each other or it won't work. Great video!
That's ridiculous! An owner should not have to do this. On my 2004 MDX, the window would reset every time the battery was disconnected. I had to roll the window up and down a couple times for it to relearn. Great videos!

My 2005 CRV must be different. It was so much easier. Turned car on, pressed power window button to bring down then brought up and waited a few seconds and the auto feature was fixed.

Same trick just worked for my 2022 accord 2.0t. Back passenger side window would make a clicking noise but not go down and after a couple resets (2 position was double tapping the ignition button to accessory mode same as key) everything is working now. thank you!

BigDog! This came in so handy I was completely lost l. Called the dealership and they said it was going to be around 800 in total since I needed a new window switch. not sure why you had to go to all those lengths. Maybe I am not understanding what the window was or wasn't doing, but anytime I had to reset my Honda it was as simple as turn the key to power, press the switch down and hold it for a second, then roll window up completely and hold for a second. That's all. the cycling the key thing is nothing I have seen before except with American made vehicles maybe VW here and there
Jeremy Pilot Many times you don’t need a reset (which sounds like what has happened to you), but sometimes the module has learned the positions wrong and it must be reset and relearned. This procedure is straight out of the Honda manual.
hmm cool learned something new. Mine was a 2005 Honda Pilot and it would occasionally do the same thing as your car in the video. Must be they changed some stuff over in the land of the rising sun. lol
My passenger window is not working in auto up/down and my driver control is not activating the front passenger window at all. I have performed the reset feature for the driver controls numerous times. Both front controls were replaced which is why I'm having to perform the reset. Before performing the reset the controls on both sides had to be pushed multiple times to roll front driver and passenger windows up/down. Help

Units was easy to unpack and slide out from the case. I installed this in the wall to cool my garage. I live in NV and it’s been cooling my garage pretty easily while being 105 degrees outside.

This worked on a 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid. I just replaced the switch unit, didn't need to do the 3 times off and on. Just needed to raise the window all the way up (with the switch pulled up and holding both clicks) wait for a second or two. Then with the single 'auto' click it went all the down and with a single up click it went all the way up. Thanks for the tip!
This fixed my problem, thanks! My window was getting stuck down and would have to wait/power cycle the car to get it back up but is working properly now 👌🏻
Outstanding video. I was just having issue with auto up-down not working after pulling fuses. I was able to start at 2:25 in the video. I just opened the door, turned the key to on, put the window down, then pulled it all the way up and held it for a second. Then the auto feature was restored

Wow! Thanks so much. Had to change the starter on an 09 Nissan. After reconnecting the battery, the auto up feature on the driver's window quit working. This fixed it.
These steps still work on a 2016 honda Odyssey as well. My van was doing the same thing. I just pushed the button twice to put it into the second position. And did the same steps as him

I placed a wrong order for my window. Instead of having a 6 pin for auto i ordered 2 pins. After install the window only works intermittently while pressing down the switch. After doing this it actually opens and closes but the auto function is gone due to the pins. Thank you so much.

Yes, the 5 second max per step is a very common time limit for programming like this.

not sure why you had to go to all those lengths. Maybe I am not understanding what the window was or wasn't doing, but anytime I had to reset my Honda it was as simple as turn the key to power, press the switch down and hold it for a second, then roll window up completely and hold for a second. That's all. the cycling the key thing is nothing I have seen before except with American made vehicles maybe VW here and there
Jeremy Pilot Many times you don’t need a reset (which sounds like what has happened to you), but sometimes the module has learned the positions wrong and it must be reset and relearned. This procedure is straight out of the Honda manual.
hmm cool learned something new. Mine was a 2005 Honda Pilot and it would occasionally do the same thing as your car in the video. Must be they changed some stuff over in the land of the rising sun. lol
My passenger window is not working in auto up/down and my driver control is not activating the front passenger window at all. I have performed the reset feature for the driver controls numerous times. Both front controls were replaced which is why I'm having to perform the reset. Before performing the reset the controls on both sides had to be pushed multiple times to roll front driver and passenger windows up/down. Help
I used to do what you did but with my Honda Jazz the auto up/down always stopped working soon after, I think mine needs this reset procedure.

I just bought my 2001 Honda Accord.. and the back windows will not come up using door control.... Watch Big Dog about a 1000 times, will now give it a try...

Units was easy to unpack and slide out from the case. I installed this in the wall to cool my garage. I live in NV and it’s been cooling my garage pretty easily while being 105 degrees outside.

This worked on a 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid. I just replaced the switch unit, didn't need to do the 3 times off and on. Just needed to raise the window all the way up (with the switch pulled up and holding both clicks) wait for a second or two. Then with the single 'auto' click it went all the down and with a single up click it went all the way up. Thanks for the tip!

Outstanding video. I was just having issue with auto up-down not working after pulling fuses. I was able to start at 2:25 in the video. I just opened the door, turned the key to on, put the window down, then pulled it all the way up and held it for a second. Then the auto feature was restored

Thanks a bunch. Removed my door panel to replace the speakers and after reinstalling, window would stay up with auto up. Did this procedure, now back to normal operation!!!!

My window, when rolled halfway down and then pressing the auto up, would instead force auto down. I had to wait for it to go all the way down before auto up would finally roll the window up. This fixed that issue! Thank you again!
Great video, but it didn't work for me. I tried several times unsuccessfully and finally took my computer outside and did it right along with you. Still no success, so I guess I have a bigger problem. At least now I know. I'll live with it. Thanks so much for your very clear instructions!

Wow! Thanks so much. Had to change the starter on an 09 Nissan. After reconnecting the battery, the auto up feature on the driver's window quit working. This fixed it.

These steps still work on a 2016 honda Odyssey as well. My van was doing the same thing. I just pushed the button twice to put it into the second position. And did the same steps as him

I have 2006 CR-v, I just did the part... open door, key on, window up and hold it 3 seconds, (which made me nervous about blowing a fuse), and the auto up was resolved thanks

Thank you very much sir. I just re-set the RT FRONT PASSENGER SIDE window on my 1989 Acura Legend.
The window always can go down, but had issues going back-up. It would go back-up after many, many, many attempts.
This was a real pain.
I followed your instructions using the window controller on the driver’s side the re-set the RT front passenger side.

I placed a wrong order for my window. Instead of having a 6 pin for auto i ordered 2 pins. After install the window only works intermittently while pressing down the switch. After doing this it actually opens and closes but the auto function is gone due to the pins. Thank you so much.
