Tasting Tomatillo and purple beans for the first time
We use mainly used/recycled ♻️ materials/containers to grow a large amount of fresh fruits and vegetables.
We try to be as self sufficient as possible with the foods that we can grow ourselves and encourage you to do so too. Grow your own food.

Lucky you had a backup plans. For me, the squirrels 🐿swiped out my peaches then the plums. When the plums were finished they went on the blackberries. Now l had a single callaloo growing, it was so beautiful l desided to keep it for seeds. When l came home yesterday thinking the worst had passed for the garden, miss T cut the callaloo and cooked it 😢 😂.

When the husk is full, it is ready. That one was ripe. I usually cook and blend it and make a sauce. It will come back if some fruits fall to the ground.

If you have old fan covers you can put it over the seeds in the containers until they germinate to keep the cats from going within I am a cat person too😊

Marie, thank you for showing how to transplant the red callaloo. I see that you dig a deep hole and bury them up to the leaves. I did not do that and I have some long lenky plants not looking healthy

Learnt sometime ago from a talk show on RJR that the Red Clover plant is good to keep slugs away from your produce as they will eat the red clover instead and leave your other plants alone. Wondered if you know if it is available in Jamaica and where to get it if you ever heard of it?
