Cornfield - Thanks for your tutorial on your kerosene heater. I have the identical model and have owned it since the mid-90's. I have never had the battery powered ignitor work regularly, even after replacing "C" batteries on numerous occasions. Now my problem is the wick will not shut off. Appears it might be gummed up and won't release entirely downward to exhaust itself. So here I am on youtube looking for the fix. May have to remove the parts and clean them of gummy varnish. Thanks again.
How do I shut off A Kero Heat Heaters that does not shut off ? I tried shutting it off to the Shut off Manual and it is still running ? I tried the Adjusting Range But it is still going .
Try putting the fan on the opposite side of the doorway facing the heater. The heat in the home will distribute way better. You're welcome. What kind of lube did you use inside the heater?
My heater is just like yours. I fill like I need to change the wick in it. Also, what did you use to clean the ignitor with? If I have to order a wick and ignitor (not locally available) do you have a phone number to company? TY, so much!!! Good video!

Those heaters were great in the 70's when kerosene was 50¢!! I still have a few in the attic for emergencies!! Great tutorial!!☺

What type kerosene do you use in yours? Are these safe to use indoors? Is there a risk of carbon monoxide
"heating enhancement system"....I like that. I have one too although my is electric. Part of my HES burned out last night.

Can I use a match to light the wick if my igniter won't work?
@@rachaelsheffield7818 yes, but it is less than ideal because it has more chance of dropping pieces into the heater.

I got the Omni 230, just twist off those plastic thumb screws and your right at the burner!
And yes you can watch it with a lighter or match
