Next time, remove the return spring from the ratchet pawl bracket, remove the retaining cover for the recoil spring and clean all the gunk from the spring and back of the retaining cover. Grease should be added to the inside of the plastic ring where it contacts the spring hook/ metal cup. Always replace the recoil rope, OEM is best. Tension should only be 3-3 1/2 turns of the rotation on the black cover.

Is there any part number on the recoil itself? I’m having a hard time finding one to put in my trailboss.
Like the whole recoil assembly? It doesn’t look like the whole assembly has an OEM part number.
