Thank you for sharing...101% so nice it's our lunch today..I'm so happy to watching my employer in kids d love in enjoying to eat...3cup of rice I cook but still not enough for Dem..d only 4 person eating for 3cups rice hahahha...
I swapped the pork for chicken cubes since that’s what I have in my fridge, and omg it tastes like I made lotus leaf rice. Amazingggggg. Feeling accomplished 🤣 bf who is a better chef than I am, ate 2 bowls !! I used 2 cups water with the 2 cups rice , since I saw the water covered my rice already in the rice cooker and the pot was already full - it worked out well!
As always, your step by step tutorial is indeed very easy to follow and the end product is yummy and delicious food that enables people like me to try and cook up dishes which I could not have done so without your sharing. Thank you Spice & Pan.
aiya, i tried this today and it tastes so good. i modified the recipe a bit because i have a cooked rice already so i just put the mushrooms and meat on top of the rice, add a bit of stock and let it steam for a bit. delicious!
Hello, greetings frm Indonesia. My kiam peng is currently cooking at the rice cooker and i can tell its gonna be so delicious. I use long bean instead cos thats how my mom usually pair it with. Thanks for the recipe. Im so grateful!

I've tried this recipe so many times and each time it never fails to satisfy me. There is also another video of yours, using chicken and you did the frying in your rice cooker instead of the wok. As you said, "It tastes heavenly!", although it would be rather strange if heaven smelled like Kiam Ph'ng every day 🤣🤣🤣.... hahahaha (no offense, just kidding!)
I often cook this as a one dish dinner meal. I like to use chinese mustard green. Eat it with sambal belachan. As you said, you can eat more than 1 bowl because it is so good
I love your recipes.. I just cooked your sesame chicken rice in rice cooker too and my family loves it! Just curios, how come the chicken rice uses 1:1 rice to water, but this Cabbage pork recipe uses 2:3 rice to water?
Gr8 recipe, keep it up! Roland. The best part of it is 'it works' and tastes yummy.' Thanks for cooking all the traditional dishes that we don't get to eat nowadays! God bless you!
Tried this and it was amazing! Only difference I did was that reduced the amount of water, and mixed dark soya sauce with some scallion oil and drizzled on after the rice was cooked. Delicious thank you!
Hello, thanks for the awesome recipe! Can you please advise the cup type for rice and water? Is it the ‘rice cooker cup’ size for rice? And how many ml for 3 cups of water? Thanks! 😊
Hi, i like Chinese food. I am from Suriname and the Chinese food there is awsome!!!!! Can you make a video of the Chinese sosage (fa chong)? I like the brown chinese sosage. Mi English is not very good 😄
Love all the dishes you've prepared and presented on your channel. Please continue in doing a great job. Could you link (the picture) the chinese sausage brand (type) you used for this dish. It's easier for me to get it from the store knowing how it looks. Thank you
The other video you mentioned 3 cup of water to 3 cup of rice? If I want to cook 3 cup of frangrance meat rice in rice cooker, should need 3 cup of water right.
Sorry, iund the answer. I see in comments below it is 159 gr rice per your cup. It will be easy to always mention the cup size. Thanks for this wonderful channel. Love your way of teaching.
Hi Roland. Pls let me know why you put 3 cups of water for 2 cups of rice esp you mentioned cabbage will release water. Isn't the ratio is 1 cup rice : 1 cup water ? If I'm not using cabbage then what supposed to be the ratio ? Thxs.
It looks absolutely easy and tasty. May I know if it's a traditional Singaporean or Malaysian dishes? Just curious as I have never seen it on the menu in the restaurant. Thanks
Hi Kennis. Thanks so much for watching our video. We’re not sure if it’s a Singaporean or Malaysian dish but this is a typical dish prepared at our homes when our parents feel lazy. Hahaha.
Hi, my name is Kath from Aussie land. My rice cooker has two settings. Up for warm and down for cook. Can I still make this recipe in this older model? I also have a big wok., that is make for induction cooking.
Hi Kath. Thank you so much for watching our recipe :-) yes you can use your good old rice cooker with no problem. We have another recipe using similar step. In that video, we used a combination of pan frying over the stove then the ingredients were transferred to the rice cooker. You can watch that as a reference. Here’s the link to the video. Happy cooking! th-cam.com/video/sbQKydkSVKA/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for sharing. I tried it last week but rice turned out too sticky. Too much water. Will cook again today but will use 2 cups of rice with 2 cups of water.
Hi. I noticed you have been using this nonstick pan in quite a few of your videos. Is it okay to use medium high heat for non stick pan? I enjoyed all your recipes but hope you can look into more healthy cooking using natural seasonings sans oyster sauce.
Hi Catherine. May I recommend you to watch our lo mai gai video. We used 2 cups of glutinous rice to 1/2 cup of water. Please soak the glutinous rice for at least 4 hours but best overnight before using. Happy cooking! Here’s the lo mai gai recipe: th-cam.com/video/rRVXAJJZY3Q/w-d-xo.html
Hi Steve. Sorry for our late reply. If you wanna cook 3 cups of rice, increase water to 3.5 cups and the rest of ingredients by 50 percent. This is because the extra veggies that you add will give moisture to the rice. Hope this helps. Happy cooking.
May i ask why u don't stir fry the cabbage with the rest of the ingredients & just add it at the top? Is it better to just mix everything together then add it to the rice cooker & add water & cook as usual? Will the cabbage be tasteless? And No Oyster Sauce is needed?
Good morning Lilian. The reason why we didn't stir fry the cabbage was because our pan was too small but don't worry about it. They won't be tasteless as cabbage is naturally sweet. Yes we didn't use any oyster sauce in this recipe. Just follow exactly what we did and you'll be fine. Cheers.
Spice N' Pans ok cos i do have a big wok so is it possible to stir fry the cabbage with the rest of the ingredients then add uncooked rice & finally dump it in the rice cooker & cook as usual? U mentioned cabbage produces excess liquid. Will 3 cups make the rice too soggy?
Love this recipe but not sure of the amount of water to cook the rice. I’ve always thought that the ratio of rice to water is 1:1. Can please explain then why 3 cups of water instead of 2?
It is the way to cook rizzotto as well, oil, onion or shallots (and whatnot) then rice till transluscent then broth (or whatnot)... so yes, frying rice first then "steam" cooking it is very old and common. Unless it's pure plain steamed, it's better this way but, then again, cooking is infinite.

Wait a minute, did you stir fry the uncooked rice??? You stir fry the uncooked rice and then cook into the rice cooker? I've never seen that done
Hihi. This can help to make the rice more fragrant. Happy cooking! 👍🏻👍🏻
It is not really stir fry but meant to coat the rice grains with the sauces before it goes in the rice cooker.
