This is going to be the camera that everyone bad mouths during release but becomes a eBay classic in ten years. This is definitely a camera that focuses on workflow over features, and that will alienate a lot of folks, but for the people it resonates with, hot damn it is a home run of a product.
This is perfect! I’ve always hated vlogging with dslr plus it always makes everyone around me uncomfortable. This has better audio and video than my phone plus this will be much better for vlogging since I won’t have to carry anymore tripods. Definitely going to get this. This has the benefit of looking like a phone so I don’t stand out much.
one of the first camera's I ever bought was a Flip Mino HD I think it had 4gb of storage and shot 720p, I miss that camera, this Canon reminds me of that camera.

I get the idea, similar to the Insta360 Go 2 or the DJI Action 2 which are camera that are hands-free and attaches anywhere. But the lack of optical image stabilisation will be a deal breaker for many. Hopefully, Canon will improve this concept for the V20 or V30.
optical stabilization is overrated. gopro, dji action 2, insta360 all of them use digital stabilization and provide better stabilization than any mirrorless camera.
was hoping this would be more similar to the canon vixia mini that was discontinued 5 years ago but judging by the build and video quality it doesn't seem to be as similar as it looks (from the outer build)... guess i should stick with buying the g7x2 for vlogging maybe...
That is actually really good. Nice set of stuff combined into one, low price, and easy app/stream integration. Image is ok not great. Not everyone needs or wants this but I bet some people REALLY want it.

Its not the first Vlogging Camera from Canon, the Canon legria mini x came out almost ten years ago (and esthetically looked way better in my opinion than this ugly little brick). The V10 looks like it also was released back then in 2014. When I saw the Thumbnail i thought it was a retroreview.😅 Nonetheless a good video, as always Lok! Thank you for your work!
Oh my, the Canon V10 is going to sell by the bucket load, but, at over £400, well we'll see. I really like it, Canon have put plenty of thought into the V10, of course it will have it's critics, esp where possible over heating might rear it's ugly head. For me it's looking good. I think that it is old technology that the Canon company had stored there, and well, before it got older they had to find a way to sell all the pieces, in my opinion from the shots that we see in this video, it will be focused on a market beyond the casual and not for professional bloggers, there are many focus and video stabilization problems, unfortunately it looks very basic and it's a shame because it's a very good idea but with little to risk, I don't think it's optimized to compete with action cameras , but to be static while one talks in front of the camera, I don't think it's thought about the compatibility of fast videos for social networks either.
It's funny you bring up action cams that have tiny sensors that are smartphone size versus the much larger 1inch sensor. The only reason action cams are good for is action. They're bad for everything else. They're optimized to focus on the background, not people.

If you meet with Sony, tell them to bring back the 960 fps mode to the Xperia 1 VI with better quality and longer record time (2-3 second) with end trigger mode.
I use a dji pocket 2 in my shirt pocket and with my phone I have complete control of where it aims plus another 100 more tricks and features including wireless mic, ND filters, 4k 60p etc. I don't think the V10 looks better. It's more expensive, less versatile, less video options. Who is it for?
If somebody releases a waterproof housing for this camera, I'll mount this on my helmet mount instead of getting a DJI OSMO Action 1 or similar. 🤔 Will it be better that way?
Stereo mic should be on each side of the camera, not on top. I always wonder why almost all camera has the mic on the top. My phone Huawei has mic on each other side "in landscape mode" and the stereo effect is much better than on my Olympus
When Sony has many gens of vlogging cams already. When GoPro has many gens of weatherproof cams already. When DJI has many gens of microgimbal cams already. When Insta360 has many gens of 360 cams already. When Apple has internal 2D physical stabilizer of phone already. Then why should we buy this for vlogging?
Buy a Sony Actioncam instead people! It's wide-angle can fit more when you talk to it. But yeah, Canon's thing looks good, if it wouldn't be a single focus point.

Kinda lacking for the price. You can get splurge on accessories for an older flagship smartphone setup. Maybe a pixel 3 $100, zhiyun smooth q3 compact gimbal $75, movo vxr10 $40. You still have budget to get a wireless mkc system or extra storage. But if youre really into minimal, a phone and fancy case might a better bargain.

I shot my last video entirely with this camera. The best results I ever had!!! It's definitely better quality than Gopro 10, which I used before it

My only issue is that the stabilisation looks awful. Guess I'll still wait for the DJI Pocket 3 hopefully coming someday
